http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ps3e07f4f3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ps69eeecef.jpg I remember that I had my choice between him or Batman at Best Buy. Picked Joker because I've never been a fan of the all-black movie Batsuits, though his pose was actually pretty sweet if I recall. I did pick the special edition DVD set which came with the mini replica of Batman's cowl instead of the bank robbery clown mask, so I guess it evened out. The cowls and masks were packaged with the DVD, while the statues were boxed separately and stacked in a pyramid near the DVD display. |

Dont worry, I'm also trying to adding articulation with other figures that cost $1 dolar but every attempt failed, and i couldnt find a custom tutorial so this is a new dilema |
That's pretty neat. Definitely looks more like the character than what we got in the 3.75 scale Dark Knight line.

Just in case anyone was curious how the new Ninja Turtles Z-Lines playsets look with MU/Multiverse toys, here you go:

"Hey Bill, you've seen Karate Kid. What are these stick thingies called?" "Uh I think those are nunchucks." "Yeah... yeah that sounds right." |
awesome display , poisonshadow , spawn playset is awesome,
I cannot wait for wave 2 , bring on the Keaton batman |

I'm kinda surprised they didn't just call them nightsticks, as those are derived from tonfas anyway. Or Knightsticks - then DC/Mattel could trademark the name. At any rate, at least it was on a Batman figure, where Oriental weaponry isn't the norm. Imagine if that kind of mistake was done on a TMNT package. |

any new reveals of the multiverse stuff?
|
Doesn't look like 3.75 got much love at Toy Fair as far as DC is concern. That JL war line would have been epic in 4inch.
|
anyone know when wave 2 is suppose to hit of multiverse?
|
I was hoping we would see more figures at toy fair. I think the first two wave will be what we see for the first of the year. And when Comic Con comes around, we will see more new ones if these two waves sell well.

I just have to wait for the Injustice Batman to come out later this year, I just hope they don't cancel it. |
So whats up with the lack of love for multiverse? If Mattel maintains it takes 18 months to bring a line to fruition then by extension shouldnt they have at least 5 waves in the planning stages for multiverse? Wave 1 january, wave 2 april wave 3 july wave 4 october?
And since the idle speculation has yet to begin allow me: Wave three tv shows: Oliver queen. Merlyn the blur. Rosenbaum lex lt gordon. Oswald cobblepot Wave four superfriends aquaman. Manta cheetah wonderwoman Batman riddler Wave five. New 52 Superman. Batman flash. Green lantern wonderwoman shadow demon Sdcc exclusive wonder twins |
Although I'd prefer the next wave to be pre-New 52 comic based I'd buy an Arrow based Green Arrow in a heartbeat but I'd go with Slade/Deathstroke instead of Merlyn. With how popular he is these days would probably sell better. Plus he's awesome on the show.
|
If I remember right from the back of the cards, they specify that Multiverse are for movies and games - things outside of the comics. I guess TV shows aren't too much of a stretch, but I can't see them really doing anything inside of comics, at least for a while.

Bandai SpruKits: 4" Batman, Joker, Superman
4 Attachment(s)
These were announced at Toy Fair 2014 and are to come out sometime later this year. They're snap-together model kits, and the completed action figures can be posed.
"Level 1 models will retail for around $10 and consist of 30-40 pieces used to build a 4″ tall figure. Characters include a New 52 Batman, a The Dark Knight Rises Batman, a New 52 Superman, and a Joker figure based on his archetypical classic comic book appearance. Bandai estimates these kits will take users about half an hour to put together." Toy Fair 2014: Bandai's Sprukits Action Figure Model Kits |

Will the final product be fully painted, though, or is that exactly what we'll be getting? I've done a lot of customs now, but I've got no confidence in my ability to paint eyes and eyebrows on something so small. |

What I find interesting about this is, along with Microman and the DC Collectables lines, this is another 4" DC action figure alternative to Mattel. |

As soon as DC Collectibles pulls their heads out of their asses and stops using clear plastic in the joints, Multiverse has some competition. If DCC expands the BTAS line into Justice League and Justice League Unlimited (not to mention Batman Beyond, Superman TAS or even Static Shock), Mattel's supposedly collector-oriented, site-exclusive 6" Total Heroes stuff (featuring a pseudo animated style) will be rendered pointless. Their kid-oriented stuff will presumably be safe, of course, since Mattel has the advantage of being available at retail stores. Their "collector lines" could very well become irrelevant though. |
Just saw the Bandai, i like it a lot
Anyone know when are they gonna be out? cause i love that New 52 Superman and Batman even if they are just prototypes, nothing that a custom paint job can't fix |

In the action figure market, both are trying to find a balance between selling to kids and collectors. Personally, I happen to like the "evergreen" Batman line of 4" figures because of the fact that they're supposed to be played with. For me, that's the charm and appeal -- they're actual child playthings. (I really hope they make a Batmobile for the evergreen 4" Batman.) But we may be entering a time when little boys in the coming years won't be interested in action figures at all (unless they can be interacted with digitally, such as via augmented reality), so it will be up to the adult collector market. Will Mattel be able to step up, that's the question. And this could conflict with DCC's offerings. Anyway, I just learned that Hot Toys also sold a snap-together 4" pose-able Batman action figure from Batman Begins several years ago, which is near impossible to find for sale now new or assembled. So Hot Toys can also be added to the alternative DC 4" action figure category. If anyone could manage to collect all the DC 4" figures sold by DCC, Takara (Microman series), Bandai, and MEGO, then you get props by me for being a hard-core collector. :) |
