Ok, just to clarify this for everyone.

This is a toy thread. Movie discussion has its own forum and separate threads for each film. Also, any information regarding a new movie can be a spoiler, so please watch what you post outside of the movie's thread.

The movie threads themselves are open discussion, so they should be marked with a warning about spoilers at the beginning of each thread. For example, here's the one for GOTG:

ChuckSass 08-01-2014 08:37 AM

I won Thanos, Starfox and Nebula for 30 dollars on an Ebay bid this morning

ukmu 08-01-2014 09:18 AM

GREAT score Chuck!!!!!

Sorry if anyone thought that I had dropped spoilers.... I promise they were not that at all. Also, I tried to talk 3.75" in each post as well. The last thing I want to do is spoil someones viewing pleasure.

NoodleChow 08-01-2014 09:34 AM

Pretty much why I'm gonna watch it today so I can continue to exist on the internet.

Thank you. I don't think any of us appreciated having the Hydra cat let out of the bag a week before is even premiered in the US. There should be ZERO details from a new (or unreleased) movie in this thread. Nothing more than you liked it it or did not.

The stuff you posted most definitely WERE spoilers and was really annoying just hours before I was set to see the movie. Doesn't matter how small you shouldn't be spelling things our or giving people hints on movies when they haven't even premiered here yet. It's bad form. I guess none of us are supposed to come to a toy site when a Marvel movie comes out if we haven't seen it because you can't resist spoilers? You do this every time a Marvel movie comes out even though people have asked you not to. If you can't understand that please tell us now and it will we will all make sure to avoid places you frequent if we don't want spoilers.

For the record I saw GotG last night and loved it. Everyone should see it. (See, it's not that hard.

Ninjinister 08-01-2014 11:18 AM

Could've sworn that this site had spoiler tags.

En Sabah Nerd 08-01-2014 11:49 AM

Okay I know this isn't exactly about the toys, but what if something happened in the comics and we would like to express the want for a toy of said something? How do you black out spoilers unless someone hovers over them? Can you do that here on these forums? Because I don't want to be the guy who spoils something in the comics by just saying it as a toy? If that makes sense.

K Dubious 08-01-2014 12:08 PM

I love toys, I'm fairly sure we all do. They happen to make movies that sometimes involve said toys and I get excited. I read every post put on this thread since I have joined TA. I think this thread goes every direction from time to time, but we always bring it back to the 3.75 specific toys that we all love. I also just saw GoTG last night and it was awesome. I will say the only thing UKMU spoiled was that Stan Lee is in the film, but if you didn't know Stan the man was going to be in the movie then why are you even going? He has been in pretty much every Marvel movie made in the past 5 years!

Also after seeing the movie I kind of slightly want the 2 inch guys that came out for the movie. Sorry Mods I know that they are not 3.75, but the movie is good enough to make you want these characters.

I started working on the other side of my room sized diorama last night too. It will be a X-men/Spider-man/city scene. I can't wait to get the rest of my collection on display.

For some reason it does not.

Comics do have their own forum and discussion area but I would argue they are a much different beast. Plot twists like deaths or gender changes will often be announced months in advance as publicity. They also have a very small readership so it's less likely people will care.

It's not the same as giving away plot twists or joke punch lines from a movie that hasn't released yet. It's selfish because then people will hear said joke and think "oh, that's what that guy was spoiling" which takes them out of the movie. At least give people the weekend or the week to see the movies first.

He spoiled more than that both here and elsewhere. Plus Marvel had said he wouldn't be in the movie but that's not the point. It's still a spoiler (if minor) and some people won't want to have any details or jokes spoiled for them. I try to be respectful of that to others and it would be nice if we could all do the same. Sadly it only takes one.

I certainly didn't need to see Hail Hydra in big letters when he was talking about the movie a week before it's US release. There are movie threads and movie sites for that. I should be able to stay away from them and come here to talk toys without worrying about someone barfing out any details of the movies.

I actually love reading spoilers like 95% of the time. What I really don't like is someone giving me out of context punchlines to jokes. Telling me a character dies is probably better than that because I'll see a death a mile away most of the time whereas a joke often needs surprise to be funny.

okay well you have to keep in mind, it's the internet, if you don't want to be spoiled, you can always stay off it. I also only remember him saying you know who was in the movie, who's in all marvel movies. it was also posted all over blogs like a month ago that he confirmed.

Now I think we can drop it. You've seen it, I've seen it. UKMU has seen it. we've all gotten gay and giggly about it. Lets move on and start talking about how i made the score of the year today or that theres a Modern Gamora figure in the works and how I can campaign to get her before 2016

Sorry but that is patently untrue. I wasn't on a movie blog or in the movie section of this forum and hadn't the movie hadn't even premiered here yet. That's like saying it's your fault that your car got hit while parked because went out to buy groceries. It's BS. Shall I start naming off Game of Thrones spoilers and telling people that haven't read the books (which are years old) it's their own fault?

As I've said I'm not one to typically care about spoilers since most of them aren't going to lessen my enjoyment of a movie. This is just a pattern with UKMU doing this (every Marvel movie this year) and dozens of times he has been asked not to. This is first time I've spoken up because I'm assuming he just doesn't understand.

En Sabah Nerd 08-01-2014 12:49 PM

Wait so can we do that blackout text thing to spoilers if we have to? Like let's pretend it's 2006ish when civil war just ended: how can I blackout my text relevant to any death and new-mantle-taker spoilers if I want to say that I'd like to see the new suit as a toy? This would be helpful on this thread or any other on the ark.

I know Tokunation has spoiler tags like that but I don't think they do here. Let's test it.
test
WalMart doesn't carry like any toys anymore. At least none that I care about, no MU/MI, their legends are stuffed with nothing but the overpacked figures, no 6" Star Wars, and they only carry movie Transformers now. It saddens me. I really hope that future Marvel movies continue to have some kind of 3.75"/4" toyline because that seems to be all that could potentially bring WalMart back to it.
I've said it before: Moon Knight is my jam, my favorite flavor of the bunch, I'm loonie for Moony. Maybe with the succes of GotG we could see characters like Moon Knight (who was actually more popular than the Guardians pre movie announcement) get movies, and with it more new toys.
Maybe we could try this if we feel absolutely compelled to spoil:
(There aren't any spoilers in the following)SPOILERSchange the text color to "silver" so you have to highlight it to read it SPOILERS
