she's certainly no A-lister like starfox, but I think the fan base would prefer a brotherhood set over what passed for an infinity gauntlet set this year.

wylde bil 08-04-2014 07:46 PM

75 bucks for a repaint, a none mover, and 2 very very specific figures that are repaints as well, and a foam gauntlet, the same ppl that pick this for that price are the same ppl that dont understand why putting the same spidey, ironman, cap, hulk, thor and wolvie figs in each set just makes peg warmers and they sell less cases.

sometimes i think hasbro hands out crack to their new hires with their work id and parking space.

if i could buy the gauntlet and death for like 20 buck i would jump on it

cause honestly one of my DP needs a good death in my collection

En Sabah Nerd 08-04-2014 09:40 PM

I hope calling Starfox an A-lister was sarcasm, I really do.

jmurray90720 08-05-2014 12:26 AM

Alternitavely, an original Brotherhood set would also be awesome.

Magneto
Quicksilver
Scarlet Witch
Mimic
Toad

And somehow seems more realistic with SW and Quicksilver in Avengers 2 and figures hard to find, an updated Magneto and only 2 new characters that have no chance in hell of getting a retail release.

En Sabah Nerd 08-05-2014 01:08 AM

I've always thought of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver as Avengers characters and then X-men characters (even though Scarlet Witch has never been on any X-men team, so really only Quicksilver is X-men between the two) so I'd rather them see get toys of other costumes than their original debut versions. Like Force Works/Onslaught Scarlet Witch, and almost any other Quicksilver (kind of all similar, so one of the green ones I guess).

IcantBseriouS 08-05-2014 06:03 AM

I think next years 3.75" SDCC if they still have 3.75" will be like a Faces of Pym Box set or maybe something to deal w/ Ultron.

K Dubious 08-05-2014 06:34 AM

Not sure when it happened, but the Guantlets are finally sold out.

That's how I read it, at least. Niche-within-a-niche characters are rarely classified as A-list caliber. Well, IMHO anyway.

That's pretty much how I view Wanda and Pietro, too. Although I will say I wouldn't mind figures with their debut costumes as they would both be Brotherhood versions and not Avengers or X-Men figures.

I was jut poking fun at the assertion that because mystique is a "B-lister" she couldn't be the headliner in a SDCC set. when most of the recent sets (masters Of Evil, Infinity Gauntlet, DP Taco truck) have been primarily obscure characters. I'd b more people would recognize Mystique over radioactive man, Barron Zemo, chmpionpool, Starfox, and most of the others in those sets. But unfortunately I think the overall X-franchise would need some kind of major boost in popularity over the next year for us to get anything x-related at this point. but we could keep our fingers crossed for a horsemen of apocalypse set when the next movie comes out.

spade 08-05-2014 10:37 AM

When the price came up as $90, I realized I could get the individual figures (starfox and Nebula) for almost half that with free shipping. I'll get Mistress Death down the line.

The foam glove while nice is not a must have for me.

I know I've said it before, but I want a wave or two of just Age of Apocalypse versions of characters: Magneto, Sunfire, Holocaust/Nemesis, Blink, etc. and of course Wolverine (because we don't have enough Wolverine, eh, at least this one would be different).

Yeah I mean we did get AOA NC which was cool. I think the Toybiz Legends line had a lot of the AOA characters if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, but not totally, we got his Uncanny X-force costume. The fact that they used that Nightcrawler for the individual is why I didn't want that figure. I liked Uncanny X-force a lot, but they wrote that Nightcrawler to be selfish and at times treacherous for his own cause. I would have preferred the individual Nightcrawler just be like the one from the comic pack or Giant Sized X-men pack. Oh well, eyes to the future.

Starfox is the last Avenger on your list? What about Captain Marvel/Spectrum, Tigra, Swordsman, Captain Marvel 3, Quasar, Sersi, Crystal, Mantis, Moondragon, Agent Venom, Justice, Thunderstrike, Machine Man, Jack of Hearts, Hellcat, etc.

bmorr 08-05-2014 12:42 PM

Maybe he means he has all the avengers that are currently available now and starfox is the last on his list of those available figures.

Which was a great change of character, nice to see NC as sort of the bad guy, but he did change his ways at the end and sacrificed himself.

En Sabah Nerd 08-05-2014 01:08 PM

I like when Marvel can take a known character and make them believably the villain. A good bit of alternate realities show how it can be done, AoA does it to a good amount of heroes and also makes some villains into heroes. Though you can't beat the "original" Warlock and Magus two sides of a coin deal. Instead of needing an alternate reality to see what Adam Warlock would be like as a villain, he occasionally becomes one out of universal balance and lapsing into insanity. I always liked that the "champion of all life" and arguably the universe's greatest hero is also forced to become the universe's greatest threat (even more than Thanos usually). I would want a Magus figure to be of the Abnett and Lanning series design, maybe with swap off Adam Warlock head.

Yeppers..... not to mention customs or wants, just the figures factory made as of today. I actually like Starfox...half-brother of Thanos and Nintendo flyboy.

Speaking of which, Thanos is brother, father, uncle, cousin to a LOAD of cosmic characters...... must be some 'STEWIE SEXY PARTY' action on that floating rock all Hef style. Galactic kegger anyone?

IcantBseriouS 08-05-2014 02:43 PM

Well I'm stoked I got the set so yeah. Oh and GotG was awesome a second time. Anyway, I finally got pix of the bike I plan on using for Ghost Rider. Just gotta throw some black paint on it when I get a sec.

It's just my opinion, but the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider ought be on a chopper, not a sports bike. It's your display and totally your decision on which bike you use.

MeLikeJinx 08-05-2014 05:05 PM

^ ^ I use the Joe RoC Snarler for my MU Ghost Rider because it is perfectly scaled for tall 4" figs... you can do cool riding poses in which he is actually sitting on the bike seat and still reaching the handles and foot pedals. All the other (albeit much cooler looking) diecast choppers are good for stationary poses, but he can never ride them. Just wish I had the motivation to paint my Snarler black... all the gray areas still bug me. LOL.

En Sabah Nerd 08-05-2014 05:43 PM

I dunno I have my Ghost Rider on a Maisto 1:18 and it looks great. I don't always have him propped on all these fire bits, but even without them it looks quite nice.

Now this isn't Marvel 3.75", but then it definitely isn't 6" either. However it is part of my youth and early toy collecting. So in a way it led me to collect Marvel 3.75" and to joining these forums. My dad was cleaning his closet and found these on a storage shelf within, and then he gave them to me.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps86334d35.jpg
The craziest part is that one of them is Moon Knight. He also had Rogue, but said that it was quite ugly. These will be very nice and nostalgic shelf displays, no point in opening them since I technically have much better toys now of either character (even if only 4" tall).
Good times.

jmurray90720 08-05-2014 06:17 PM

Since I have shipped my ends of the deals out at this point, I feel it an appropriate time to brag about some action figure flipping I did this past week. I traded my SH Figuarts White Ranger (opened) to a collectibles store in my city for two Ionic Wondermen and Jubilee. I traded the Wondermen away for a MOC Scarlet Witch and a MOC Professor X. Realizing it's trading power, I picked up another one for $12 and traded it + $20 for 90's Jean Grey and Havok loose. I'm a very happy camper.

Ninjinister 08-05-2014 06:26 PM

Is there a 3.75 Walking Dead line? I wanna make a Yondu.
