Dude! Your posing... woosh. Immaculate. Especially Cappy M, Drax and Star Lord, very natural and organic positions while remaining bad arse. Have you ever considered keeping some of your displays in permanent diorama set ups? You would blow it out of the park with a simple dio.

On the topic of Sable, I'm very surprised that she hasn't had the ML treatment yet! She's quite a prominent Spidey supporting character, isn't she? Speaking of those, I'd love for Hasbro to make a Hydroman BAF. A myriad of translucent water parts, swappable limbs.. Perfecto!

i don't recall seeing sable in a spiderman comic since the late 80s or 90s spider-man comics... as far as after words goes im not sure but definitely she hasn't been in the last 2 volumes of Amazing.

Sable was prominently featured in the Ends of the Earth story. It was Spider-Man's big event in 2012, Amazing Spider-Man #682-687.

@Ken

Yes, as TBM stated, i was referring to my own Unleashed Hulk as no longer being so cool after seeing one transformed into your King/Planet Hulk. That was not a comment directed at you in any way. Sorry for the confusion.

kenm2474 12-21-2015 01:51 PM

Its all Good.

@Von

I'd love to keep them up, man. Unfortunately, space is required and I don't have that luxury. My solution for this is doing a bunch of mini's that allow me to practice thinking out scenes. Some are effective, others, not so much. I can't touch most of the stuff I see out there (professional camera, dioramas, lighting etc) , but I can step up my pose game. Thanks for the compliments, they help me to understand what I'm good at. It isn't easy to look at your own work objectively, inherent bias being what it is.

I like cross-comic pantheon fights, I think the ideas they spawn are cool. I thought this would be a nice fight. The Guardians would be hard-pressed in a contest with Lobo. They are out matched in raw strength, invulnerability, and maybe speed IMO Their only advantages are tactics and the variety of powers they possess. Lobo is no Thanos. But he may as well be, given the magnitude by which he dwarfs each of them, individually. I thought about having him bounty-hunt Gamora, but the armored version would be needed for this line-up...and Angela, if she were obtainable , would be able to go one on one with him...this process, of thinking about the characters and their abilities, helps me walk through what poses to create.

Kirathis 12-21-2015 04:17 PM

Very cool methodology for your posing scenes TBM. It seems like you put quite a lot of thought into the setups you make which is really awesome. That fight with Lobo and the Guardians would definitely be a fun one. The banter between Lobo and Rocket alone would be worth the read.

Boy Blunder 12-21-2015 04:51 PM

Man, TBM, you are giving me some major inspiration for when I finally get around to taking photos of our ML/DCUC figures.

Gosh mate, I don't think the majority of us can afford it, especially with the current onslaught of figures Hasbro is churning out! I'm working with a friend to construct a big dio, but you're damn right that good lighting and a quality camera are luxuries that some of us can't afford.

Space is also the key killer. I admire you a lot for being able to construct these beautifully posed scenarios, only to have the courage to take them apart. I never have the heart to dismantle something I've worked hours on, but at least you have some brilliant photos from it! From your exposition on this piece, you seem to have a real artist's eye for posing. I'm certainly a character-driven person, attracted to grudges and connecting relationships which bind the opposing sides.

Speaking of cross comic fights, i think Marvel and DC are about due for another big universe cross over like that did back in the 90s. man i loved that stuff.

Wrong thread- I know. But I didn't see posts from some of the customizers who regularly frequent this thread, so...

Wondering if anyone has any leads toward a head casting of the Black Series Walgreen's Emperor's Wrath Vader. That noggin seems to complete the 6" Vader look much better.

Thanks

Multi Flavor Appreciation...

http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7hrckq3a.jpg

...the numbers are stacked in favor of the Guardians, but I predict a very long day for our heroes...Where's Angela? and ChuckSass was right, we need an armored Gamora, just so I can add her to set-ups like these lol

These are insane! but yes, bring on Armored Gamora and Angela!!

Well Angela won the fan poll back at SDCC so she should be coming next year one imagines and maybe when GotG 2 comes out they'll get to another Gamora. I couldn't say armored Gamora for sure but there aren't many other options in the first place.

We could get an armored Gamora, but I feel like we got the best version of her in the 5 pack this year. The armored one isn't bad, don't get me wrong, it's just not my favorite. If we're talking about female Guardians characters, we could always get Mantis. She's long overdue. We could really use a Nebula. Movie or comic style (I would prefer comic, with interchangeable heads, one bald one with hair).
Other ladies they could make a Phyla-Vell (Martyr/Quasar) or Moondragon.

TheBlueMarvel 12-22-2015 05:26 AM

@Kirathis

I do actually take a good amount of time to think about what I want to display. I'd been thinking about this set-up prior to buying Lobo, a purchase I only made recently. I agree that any dialogue between Lobo and Rocket, or any of the Guardians, would be very interesting. Lobo and the Guardians have many parallels as cosmic characters.

@BoyBlunder

I'm glad you liked the pics. I also feel similarly inspired when I look at the pics of others. It makes me want to create something...

@Don

It does feel like it's been a while since the last crossover.

@ChuckSass

Let's hope the end to the wait for Angela comes sooner rather than later. We'll likely get another Gamora with GotG 2, I'd be surprised if her armored version wasn't included.

@Von

I admit, this set-up stayed out longer than most. I grabbed some extra shots to fill in holes...

Im not a fan of Phyla, so I couldnt care if she ever came out (see what I did there). I would be down for any other female mentioned above. Comic Gamora could use a lot of parts from Rescue, all she would need is ankle retooling and a new torso. Mantis and Moondragon would be awesome, PLUS they were avengers at one point as well. and Nebula is long overdue.

Good thing Angela is on the way, I do hope she comes with both her blades though.

So there are in hand pictures of the Cap wave on Facebook and I don't know why, but Mockingbird's head looks way too big.

Not sure if the link will work, but here you go:

Woah! Thanks for sharing. You're right, Mockingbird's head is looking a little large. I wonder if it's just some of those pics. The rear view doesn't look awful, but the front makes the head look big. Weird.

Trivial Psychic 12-22-2015 09:29 AM

It's a shame...I really want Red Onslaught but could honestly do without the rest of the wave. At least my wallet will be getting something of a break from Legends finally.

These pics are from an overseas Ebay seller. This particular seller usually has early factory samples of all the ML figures, and their shots tend to make the figures look wonky (when they photographed the Maria Hill figure, they made her look like a bobblehead, haha) I'm sure the figures are fine in-hand.

Augustus_Cole 12-22-2015 10:50 AM

who is the guy in black...he looks cool.. and the only other figure i'd want is Mockingbird and yeah she does have a big ass noggin!! hopefully that's not the final..
i want that onslaught... sans that red skull head

TheBlueMarvel 12-22-2015 10:55 AM

edit:...and I agree with Arbor. This guy has taken unflattering photos before that turned out to be a bit misleading.

I was there last weekend! I always enjoyed that store. It's a shame that it's closing. I wonder what will take its place.
