I am. I only ever got the one, I'd like another.

My Baroness arrived today. The only problem on my figure is that the disk for her left foot hinge has like an entire extra layer of plastic on the back so it gets no downward movement whatsoever. Everything else though is great. The paint is very cleanly applied except for on her right gauntlet piece but even that is only marginally off so from any distance it's nearly undetectable. Everything but the left ankle hinge moves well with no loose or overly tight joints so that's nice. Of course she pairs fantastically with Destro so now I've got that power couple leading my bad guys.

I actually like the COIL bike a bit more than I thought I would. It's just sculpted with enough detail to not be boring to look at and there's a little bit of fun to rolling it around. I think the guns that mount on its side are also pretty cool so that helps. Really the flat red color is the main detracting quality. If the red had been shiny, metallic, or maybe even just a darker shade it might have looked a bit better. Obviously Baroness is the intended rider but I actually quite like how the basic Cobra trooper looks on it, maybe it's the added blue color making the flat red stand out less since there's more color now than just black, red, and silver.

^ Looking at that bike... if the front wheel didn't stick out so much it would actually look pretty cool IMO... like if the wheel was more directly beneath the front windshield it would look more like a normal Japanese import motorcycle.

It took getting it in hand, but it's not awful. I wouldn't have picked it up as a standalone, but as an accessory to such an excellent figure, it gets a pass. It reminds me a lot of Kaneda's bike from Akira- maybe not Joe- appropriate, but considering the aesthetics of the earlier figures in the line, fitting. I initially intended to just file it in the crap box in my closet, but it'll make a nice counter-piece to the RAM when it shows up.

From the Baroness photoshoot over on Hisstank.

Yeah the COIL certainly gives off heavy Kaneda's bike vibes but then I also see some elements of the Batpod from the Nolan trilogy with the way the front wheel extends and the side-mounted weaponry. I think it works overall since Cobra vehicles tended to be more sci-fi looking than the Joe vehicles, plus Destro still seems to be the producer of the cutting-edge sci-fi weapons (look at his Star Wars laser gun) so I could see him making his girlfriend a future-bike. With the way Classified leans into sci-fi I think it might have been kind of lame for Baroness' bike to just be an off-brand looking Suzuki or Ducati like what was included with the Marvel Legends rider series Black Widow.

MeLikeJinx 08-02-2021 08:14 PM

^ Oh wow... I think you are right on with the Nolan Batman motorcycle comparison... especially when Anne Hathaway Catwoman is riding it... I think that is the look they what they were going for with the Baroness/Catwoman parallel.

Damn, I have no idea how I missed those- I even commented in that thread!

Dr Kain 08-05-2021 02:47 PM

New Snake-Eyes is amazing. No loose joints like the first one has. The sword sheath easily fits into the back hole and stays there, which is nice. Unfortunately, the heads can not be switched due to them both having two different types of pegs.

Damn! Well, there goes that idea.

I got the Classified movie Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and Baroness in the mail together. Overall I think that they are nice and Baroness is probably my favorite of the three. I get why they did it, but I kind of wish that Snake Eyes would of been in the outfit that he wore for most of the movie instead of the most traditional costume that he only wore for the last minute of the movie. Baroness's silencer being a separate piece was a nice surprise.

The only quality control issue I had was that my Snake Eyes figure's leg was not connected at the thigh swivel. I just popped it back on, but it was surprising to see it off in the package.

Just opened my Arctic Storm Shadow and WOW is that a loose torso joint!

That sucks man. Maybe use the furniture polish trick to tighten it up.

Yeah, I will probably do so at some point as I doubt I could achieve a decent pose in the present condition.

You could always find a bathroom dio and have him hunched over the toilet after getting some bad sushi? ;)

Boo! So he only wears his SE armor and visor in that one scene from the trailer? Lame. I mean people were suspecting that might happen, but I was still hoping that wouldn't be the case. At least Henry Golding got to wear the mask at least once though... Hugh Jackman never did and he played Wolverine like a bazillion times. I wonder if SE will be the commando version in the next Joe movie... if there is one.

You know, I've tried the polish trick several times over and it has never worked once for me.

Kirathis 08-07-2021 05:29 AM

Anyone ever tried the super glue method? I have never worked up the nerve to try it but have read positive comments regarding it in the past.

Yeah, it does work. I've only done it a couple of times, but with good results. You have to keep moving the joint repeatedly, for a few minutes, otherwise it will lock up. I tried clear nail polish once and it was a disaster. I think the polish might have been too old or something, but it was terrible.

I’ve used both super glue and the Future’s floor polish to tighten joints and, hands down, the floor polish is better.

The one positive about super glue is that it works quickly. For the negatives though:
1. Screw it up and the joint is glued together.
2. It can leave a white residue that can’t be cleaned off the plastic.
3. It’s harder to control how it is applied to the figure since you’re squeezing out of a bottle.
4. If the super glue is too thick, it won’t seep down into the joint.

Never tried the floor/nail polish because super glue has always worked for me. I always have super glue around anyway. Get the cheapest Walmart/dollar store stuff, just drop a drop in, those tubes are made to dispense drops. Those stuff are liquidy and go in easy, Keep moving it for a minute or so you'll feel the joint stiffing up. It's super glue, they do dry fast. Then after that, just check it again after another minute and you're good to do. Re apply if you want it tighter.

Yeah, I probably should of noted it as being a slight spoiler, but the shot of him in the last trailer walking out of the building, activating the cgi visor, getting on a motorcycle and driving off was the extent of him wearing the "classic" suit. I liked the movie, and I get why they made the figure that they did, but I do kind of wish that they would of represented him as he appeared in the movie, in the cloth based ninja outfit. But I also wish that they would of made a Hard Master figure, only because it would of been a figure of the dude from The Raid.
