Beast Hunters Shockwave.

Alt mode is kinda meh (H-tanks are getting old, and a bit of a cop-out in the creativity department), but the bot mode is quite impressive, even with his Lobster Cosplay bits.

I'm back from a short hiatus!!! I've been away, as my 2nd Daughter was born on 4/15!!! A happy and healthy little one, 7 lbs 12 oz...Since I'm off for a while, I decided to return with some stuff from the depths of the Man Cave - Starting with one of my personal favs, Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime (G2)!!!

Congrats on the new family addition! And G2 Optimus is a great figure. Too bad his RID Scourge redeco is a club-exclusive instead of a mass-retail release. They would have looked amazing next to each other on my shelf.

My FOTD is Flip Shots Cliffjumper. Totally reliable gimmick, great alt mode and cool robot mode. Great desk toy, for those of you who have them.

He's been my default Megs since I got him when he first came out several years back...MEGATRON IS A GUN FOLKS, Whether it be a Nerf Gun in the case of this one or in his G1 format!!! (The Nerf Gun is kinda cool on this one though LOL)

You should check out his Henkei version. Same mold, but in G1 colors. And due to gun laws, only released in Asia.

My FOTD is TF Prime Beast Hunters Shockwave. While his H-tank alt mode is a little underwhelming, he totally makes up for it with his excellent bot mode (sans goofy Lobster/crab cosplay bits).

That Henkei Megatron is definitely awesome...I guess because it doesn't have the silly orange thing at the tip it is not sold here right? I will definitely be picking up that Beast Hunters Shockwave when I see it...This ones for you Treble, TRU Exclusive G1 Commemorative Soundwave (with Takara Reissue Rumble in the deck!) I know you have the MP, but this is a thinga beauty in its own right!!!

Oh, no worries - I have that one too. ;) Great toy, and the first time the Soundblaster mold was ever released in the US (also the first time the SB mold was released in Soundwave colors).

Regarding Henkei Megatron: yes, that's why he was never sold here in that deco. The lack of an orange tip and the use of "real gun" colors (i.e. gunmetal gray, black, brown, chrome, etc). Part of the toy gun laws state that the toys not only include an orange tip, but must be brightly colored in some fashion so they cannot be mistaken for a real gun, especially in poorly-lit areas.

My FOTD this time is MU Xavier, simply because he is insanely articulated for a character that will spend most of his time in his hoverchair.

Dude, I love your always informative inside analysis of Transformers!!! I didn't even know about this being the 1st SB mold with SW deco, makes it even more awesome!!! I feel like I should take a pic each day of a Transformer for you to give me the full back story LOL...I agree on Prof. X, I always want to stand mine up but it just ain't right...He is a great addition to the MU line. Today I have Darth Bane, who is the Master of Supreme Badassery!!!

I have an original, but always thought about getting that version for a '86 Movie shelf (especially after that Rodimus/Cyclonus 2-pack was released).

My FOTD is none other than Fortress Maximus again, because my preorder came in over the weekend. So hopefully he will be here within a week (along with MP Ravage, Rumble, Frenzy and Buzzsaw). Can't wait!

Can't wait to see that stuff Treble...I was surfing eBay a few years back and saw that Galvatron and decided that I could not live without it...It came with a hefty price tag ($119.99) but he was worth every penny...He has great sound effects (Various cussing in Japanese, classic transforming sound and blaster sound effects). Highly recommended.
