Too kind! Really, thank you very much!

Always?
Luckily I've never had a problem with either.
FedEx even called me to remind me of the delivery.
It only came by FedEx because of the price? Location? Usually USPS drops off my HTS orders. However the gauntlet came from California. Normal items ship from PA.

I already have people fighting over my gauntlet online. :D

ukmu 08-10-2014 04:58 PM

The prices are HIGH on that Gauntlet huh? Crazy.

kylactus 08-10-2014 05:13 PM

i'm pretty sure that foam fist will be shelf warming once Avengers 3 comes out. I'm not one to pay 100 bucks now for something that will choke the clearance rack in a couple years.

If that's the route that Avengers 3 takes. Even then that one might be based on the movie version, food for thought.

Thought gauntlet was plastic not foam...is it a sturdy foam?

I don't have it, but I assumed it was like Hulk hands foam.

ukmu 08-10-2014 06:02 PM

its NERF (Non Expanding Recreational Foam) same as the old footballs when we were kids. But hollow for this glove. I am sure they will release this with Avengers 3 toys in a couple of late springs. It will be a big seller for them as Rocket Raccoon mask are flying off shelves now. Those Thor hammer and Cap shields sold for them (I know some pegged but there are 100's of thousands of stores worldwide that sold them) Once Thanos struts around in it EVERY kid will want one and even casual fans for their room. Avengers 2 just wrapped last week and I am already ready for part 3!!!!

Besides...they couldnt make a hard plastic glove with the strict child safety toy laws today. That is why everything is bendy soft and not too many tiny bits either. First kid gets whacked with a plastic glove and needs 7 stitches to close it, class action lawsuit against them. Besides, they own NERF now. And by the way, I have waited since I was 7 years old to dust off that gem about NERF being an acronym. Glad it FINALLY came in handy, kept waiting for it on Cash Cab all these years but no.

I guess I'll keep my hatred towards fedex to myself from now on. You folks seem to really love them. LOL. I like how I get questioned on where I live and why they make me sign. Where do you guys live where you need all that protection? I'd be worried about my collection if I had to go through all of that. Anyway…. I totally busted my battle kata roadblock. I need a new torso if anyone has one. I just can't quit messing around with my crossbones custom. He needs to be perfect! Well in my eyes anyway.

ChuckSass 08-10-2014 07:03 PM

just got star fox, nebula and thanos.
I love Nebula, but I wish she could wear the gauntlet, I'll see if I can stick it on her somehow later.
Thanos is great but his hand can come off so easily.
Star fox… is Star Fox

Still waiting on my infinity sets... I was camping when I thought they would go up, so I told my wife to get one for me. She never got back to me, and i wandered upon an area with cell reception. I ordered one. I texted her not to worry, and she texted that she ordered one. So if anybody missed out and wants to pay cost +shipping (to me, then you), pm me.

I would also consider trades involving anti-venom, x-force archangel, and/or old man Logan... The easy to find stuff ;-).

Or a baf groot or baf giant man. I guess my collection has more holes than I thought when I started typing.

Sunfire really is such a great figure! So damn underrated.

Delivery companies have nearly a monopoly. Its two evils: UPS and Fedex. Unless our mailboxes get a whole hell or alot bigger, the USPS wont be delivering our packages anytime soon. But I agree that the shipping prices are way too high. They almost match the price of the figures themselves.

kostej 08-11-2014 06:39 AM

Returning home from Guardians of the Galaxy movie and my new Fin Fang Foom is waiting on the table. What a nice start of the week. :)

what's actually funny is that Fed ex and UPS deliver TO the USPS...,who in-turn brings it to your house.
Not sure how that came about but it happens quite frequently now

I finally saw a cap 2 falcon at retail today. He was clearanced to seven dollars! I bought him and Winter soldier. Winter soldier made me laugh though. He's the one guy who should come with a gun, and he doesn't. Also, he has a glove on his metal hand but not his human one.

Even with the reduced articulation, he is still a pretty cool figure. My only complaint about Falcon is that he needs a neck hinge, but otherwise he's pretty cool too.

USPS has contracts with UPS and Fedex to ship packages as they have no way of handling that much volume on their own. Fedex recently signed a 10.5 billion contract to ship postal packages. They ship them to the destination airport then deliver via usps.

IcantBseriouS 08-11-2014 02:51 PM

Well they're no worse than the evil people who mark up the shipping on ebay for a profit. I start out with the small flat rate box & will combine as many as I feel can safely be packed in the box before moving up to the med flat rate. Just dealing with bad online people has forced me to use nothing but flat rate.

AXIS is shaping up to be quite the major event this year, and in particular is the culmination of Rick Remender's work going back to Uncanny X-force vol.1 #1 and even before to a degree. SPOILERS They revealed today that Apocalypse will finally be returning in AXIS #4 and that's pretty cool, hopefully we'll see more figure of him come the movie (the X-men one, duh), but also AXIS will make some bad guys go good and those could also be cool toys SPOILERS

My hasbro toy shop stuff came friday in the biggest box. I had to laugh about it. That infinity gauntlet is the tits.

MeLikeJinx 08-11-2014 07:40 PM

Oh wow... that Infinity Gauntlet packaging is like 2nd coolest packaging I've seen (carded MU Sentinel will probably always be #1). I don't even know how someone could open such an awesome display piece. Very cool.

The air freight for USPS (US postal service) is handled mostly by FedEx (as they are the largest air carrier in the world) UPS mass delivers packages you send to them to your regional hub post office for distribution by USPS local carriers. this is due to the fact that having the post office deliver it is cheaper than doing it themselves. so if you send something UPS because you have something against the post office remember there's a good chance it will be delivered by your local USPS carrier. by the way the USPS will deliver any package up to 75lbs, usually cheaper than the other big 2. since the advent of E-mail the post office has undergone a dynamic shift in focus to a more package oriented model, letters don't pay the bills anymore... full discloser, I've been working for USPS for about 7 months now.

WVMARVEL 08-12-2014 07:18 AM

Just got the Gauntlet set. Really nice. Already on the display shelves. However, I have noticed lately that Hasbro figures using this more rubbery plastic have a horrendous smell. I remember when I was a kid that I loved the smell of vintage star wars figures fresh out of the package. The new MI and GI figures just smell awful. Very chemically. I know both smells are the "outgassing" of the chemicals used to make the plastic, like with "new car" smell. I can only imagine what new chemicals they are using in the new figures.
