In your opinion, will we see just a couple new additions like Black Panther and Scarlet Witch OR will Hasbro give us various new characters like MCU Vision, a new (and hopefully) screen accurate Legends Ant-Man, New War Machine, BAF Falcon, etc? I hope we get a lot of them, I need them for my collection AND my videos.

It's going to be hard to predict, as Hasbro has been all over the place with MCU/movie figures lately.

Iron Lad probably won't show up again since the last time he popped in was the end of the Children's Crusade event wherein he set himself down the path to fully becoming Kang the Conqueror. I'd really like a new Kang figure though in this scale, the 4" MU figure is really cool and well done so a 6" one would be snazzy.

I feel like Patriot kind of cameos every now and then in group meetings or whatever but it was to my recollection that the last time he really showed up as Patriot he kind of officially retired from the cape game.

Nice the wave is also showing some figures up on Amazon individually, via a third party vendor, to be in stock approximately January 16th. Best news, $21.95 for the one I wanted, Morbius. I'm content to pay that and wait that long since he's the main (maybe only, still not decided on Jack) that I wanted of this wave.

If anyone is interested

Amazon.com: Marvel Legends Series: Villains of the Night: Morbius: Toys & Games

Amazon.com: Marvel Legends Series: Villains of the Night: Marvel's Jack O'Lantern: Toys & Games

Jack and Morbius are $21.95 USD at this time.

Spider-Gwen is $29.95 at this time for those who are interested, also in stock through the third party mid January.

Amazon.com: Marvel Legends Series: Edge of Spider-Verse: Spider-Gwen: Toys & Games

I honestly forgot the rest as I have zero interest in them, but they're likely there somewhere.

Emma and Storm are from the Xmen wave exclusive to TRU. The Cyke and Wolverine are from the Wolverine exclusive wave.
Jubilee is the BAF from the Xmen wave.

We got more figures for Age of Ultron than any other MCU film. I was dead wrong with what I thought would be released for AOU last year. This year, I'm taking a leap of faith. I'm going on the record and saying that we will get these figures for the Civil War MCU Marvel Legends...

Captain America
Winter Soldier
Falcon
Hawkeye
Scarlet Witch

Iron Man Mark 47
Black Widow
War Machine Mark 3
Vision
Black Panther

The two wild cards are Spider-Man and Ant-Man.

Boy, oh boy, wait until Infinity War...LOL.

Kirathis 12-28-2015 06:54 PM

Not trying to pick a fight but I have my doubts for the reasons below.

There have been a couple cinematic Widows already and the Hawkeye in the 4 pack. They are not the typical "have to have one every wave" characters. If they do a Widow I would expect it to be comic vs cinematic. Considering Winter Soldiers from Cap 2 are STILL peg warming, I would not expect another of him either.

The other thing to consider is no wave has been entirely cinematic. In fact, off the top of my head GotG is the only cinematic heavy wave I can think of from recent waves. That being said, your character selections could be spot on but I would expect the comic vs MCU to look more like this.

Captain America - MCU
Winter Soldier - doubtful at all but comic if done
Falcon - MCU
Hawkeye - if done at all, the Matt Fraction comic series version
Scarlet Witch - MCU

Iron Man Mark 47 - MCU
Black Widow - comic version if at all
War Machine Mark 3 - MCU
Vision - MCU if done at all
Black Panther - comic, I say this only because an MCU is more likely for the solo movie. They could do two versions but I doubt it

I will be curious to see if either of us are even close come wave release.

Emma, Scott, and Logan are all from the "Previews Exclusive" Wolverine Legends wave, BAF Puck.

I honestly don't expect that many figures. As a brand, "Captain America" does not have as much pull as "Avengers". Looking at the info I posted earlier, there seems to be a reoccurring theme of 2-3 movie figures per wave.

Using the above thinking I'd have to say MCU CAP WAVE:
1)Captain America
2)Iron Man
3)Falcon
*And if at all possible 4)WinterSoldier

With the trend of multipacks, I could see store exclusive Team Cap/IronMan multi-packs being released with characters like Vision, Scarlet Witch, etc.

Though none of this is fact, just conjecture. Hopefully we get the whole lot!

I actually have an anya corazon spider girl, and she's not supposed to have that dark of a face... i wonder if hasbro painted it that way someone else did.

SymbiSpidey 12-29-2015 12:41 PM

Just got my Amazon 4 pack. This set far surpassed my expectations. The Thor is freakin' amazing (although he has a frozen shoulder joint that I need to correct).

The Hawkeye and Bruce Banner are especially cool to me since I don't have figs of the movie versions of these characters. Black Widow's cool too, but I still prefer The Winter Soldier version of the character.

I gotta say that the promo pics did not do these guys justice. The facial expressions just looked bland and plastic doll like. The figures look way better in person and in pictures where the photographer makes a conscious effort to make them look good.

K Dubious 12-29-2015 02:10 PM

I think that spider-girl is legit it just snuck passed QC as the face missed its paint app. I believe her entire head is cast in that color (Her Hair) and then the mask and flesh tones are added.

I have an Ironman that didn't have his facial hair painted that I got at target, I'm sure this is in that same wheelhouse.

Sue Storm is powerful, and that stint she did as Malice was an interesting reflection of how dangerous she could be potentially. Also a reflection of Byrne/Claremont's tendency to turn their favorite heroines into villains (i.e. Jean originally, then Sue, and finally Wanda). As En Sabah mentioned, Rachel was the best Phoenix and demonstrated the most control while tapping the power of the Phoenix Force. However, this aspect of the character is not consistent and gets turned on and off like a light switch. Hope, potentially? Storm's an omega-class mutant, but somehow she doesn't feel like one. "Her" (Adam Warlock's 'sister' or female counterpart), maybe? Then there are the magic users like Enchantress, Morgan Le Fay, Selene, Wanda, and Magik. The term "powerhouse" can be taken a number of ways, but I was thinking more along the lines of Wonder Woman, Power Girl, Supergirl, Maxima etc...on that score Strontian/Xenith is the only direct comparison.

But your observation about Marvel's (and DC's) gender specific coronation of 'infra-genius' status, still nags me. The best I can come up with after a night of thinking is Nightshade. Lady Nightshade was a technological genius, but being a Power Man enemy, and being a representative of 'blacksploitation' pulp of the 70's, she is a relative unknown. Karla Sofen, possibly? At least she is a doctor (albeit a PHD, of a 'soft-science'; she's a psychologist, not even a psychiatrist like Samson) and has been lauded by the likes of Zemo, Graviton and Osborn for her ability to manipulate others (FYI I really like Moonstone as a character). And as you mentioned, there's Sage. But mutants present an interesting problem when their ability is intelligence or magic. Wanda's mutant hex difficulties have been explored and explained. Strange warned her (and everyone else) that her powers, without mystic tutelage, would present a real threat to everyone. However, someone like Forge should present similar issues. His power is building wild creations. While writers have explored his problems remembering how to create what he has, I've never read a story where that ability runs amok. Potentially, he's far more than Tony Stark. Damn...see how easy it is to go back to male heroes? Yeah, more kickass women please....

Food for thought, indeed! To start it off, yes, you're completely right that Sage shouldn't be applicable due to her intelligence being her power (and 'computer-like' brain). Mockingbird is a scientist, but I don't know whether she possesses a PhD, and even so she's certainly not recognised in the same vein as Reed, Hank, Tony. Again, the Wasp and Jen Walters are very smart, but more realistically smart rather than invent a new world smart.. Ah, and Forge! If you want that storyline, Warren Ellis wrote it in Astonishing when Forge invented "Ghost Boxes," doors to other universes. It did not go well.

As for powerful power, we all know that Sue Storm is a beast IF she used her power, but like Iceman, does she ever really unleash? Rachel Grey and Morgan Le Fay are pretty much always written as above-average power, whereas Storm regularly gets downsized to "nurturing mum." Seriously, Marvel, where are the strong women at?

On a very related note, how does everyone feel about the rumoured Doctor Strange line up? Very excited for Nico Minoru and Mordo, but hopefully the Astral Strange and Brother Voodoo won't be the exact ones from the SDCC set.

Dr. Strange Line up? Where, where? the characters you mention alone would be awesome, I'd love to see/hear more about this!

Also that's an interesting conversation regarding female powerhouses. if I may throw my hat into that ring, I think the most powerful females are going to be more energy or magic based users. Storm, Phoenix (both Jean and Rachel) Moonstone and Captain Marvel (both Carol and Monica) as far as energy based, Magik, Scarlet Witch, Selene, Madelyne Pryor and Morgan Le Fay as far as magical are to me not only the most powerful women in Marvel but potentially the most powerful characters period, with throwing a handful of males like Thor, Loki, Dr. Doom, Dr. Strange, Mangneto, Wonder Man and X-Man in there. That's not taking into account any Lord of Hell which is a whole different direction. And if you're talking the most overall powerful marvel character, we really need to look at the characters who were able to create entirely new realities (without Time Travel or revealed to just be psychic manipulation ) and that would Morgan Le Fay and Scarlet Witch. To me, that pretty much tops any other ability, be it psychic or physical.

warmachine6 12-29-2015 03:21 PM

dr strange wave is likely though in November when the film is out, liking the new Benedict cumberbatch dr strange look hoping to get a movie one :D , maybe some characters like baron mordo and a movie or release of dormammu and nightmare ?? maybe wong ?

Yeah Susan Storm could be super deadly like the Super Skrull if she let loose but her morality keeps her from doing that all the time. In the cosmic run when Rachel was with the Starjammers she was kinda regularly referred to as an omega level telepath and a significant threat by different alien species plus in AvX she kinda took Thor on solo so just above average doesn't sound right for her especially reckoning when she had the Phoenix force under her control.

For those who don't know, this is the rumored leaked list of Dr. Strange Legends.
- Iron Fist
- Dr. Strange
- Nico Minoru
- The Ancient One
- Brother Voodo
- Karl Mordo
- Dr. Strange (Movie)
- Dr. Strange Astral Form (Movie)

That makes a little more sense, lol. I collect Comic and Movie, but I'm a true sucker for the MCU Marvel Legends. I just find them easier to complete and posing them together in IKEA shelves next to my MCU Blu Ray collection makes every day a little better.

That being said, we may not see all of these figures, and I would expect a mix of comic and movie figures.
