On topic.... wave 1 are slowly hitting stores here in the UK now.

Like I said, HUGE nostalgia boost from the movie.
At this point, what with wave 1 choking any stores that carry MI in my area, I don't even care about Ant-Man, I just want Deathlok now.

RodimusVTS 08-25-2014 01:39 PM

Some fun w/ Ares. The goblet, and the mini gun are from my store.

Alright last call for MI Wasp and Omega Red, 15 each MOSC or 13 loose. 25 total for both PM me. If not back to the store it goes!

So the Annihilators are easily the most powerful individual super hero team. It's what they were meant to be, one team to stop any cosmic threat no matter how dangerous. So I was thinking, who would be the villain counterpart to this team? What grouping of 5 villains would be stronger and more devastating than the Annihilators?
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...psb1eaaa41.jpg
Ultron to Quasar, Kang to Beta Ray Bill, Apocalypse to Gladiator, Thanos to Silver Surfer, and Blastaar to Ronan (because Ronan was the obviously weakest Annihilator so Blastaar fills that role here).
Thanos and Adam Warlock pretty much wiped the floor with the Annihilators, so this team could probably destroy the universe if it set to it. Don't have a name in mind though.

rea1180 08-25-2014 05:32 PM

My LCS today had Antman and Ares. I couldn't afford either but this is the first time I have anything outside of wave 1, so I did pick up Antman.

my thoughts on a supreme super villain team, Magus (evil Warlock), Thanos, Onslaught, Void, and Aron the rouge watcher... with the Phoenix force split between them. good line up, but unfortunately (as with any super villain team) internal power struggles would tear them apart before they could accomplish anything. side note theoretical question inspired by En Sabah's pic... could Kang (since he can grab other kangs from throughout time) get multiple infinity gauntlets from different points in time? if so add him to the team.

Kang is plenty dangerous without an infinity gauntlet. My team shown was limited to what figures I have. To me Magus would be to the bad team as Nova was to the Annihilators, the person who gathered them but doesn't stay as a member. Aron died so long ago and has never been brought back, so he would be disqualified from my considerations. I hope for the day Onslaught gets a good figure and a new proper storyline, unleashed was so lackluster and all that really happened was his implied return to the primary reality from the negative zone.

I've gotten into legends a bit recently. But truthfully universe line looks so much better still.

The way I've always seen it is they have honestly about the same level of detail, but are smaller and easier on the wallet. More character variety too, MU gave us our first Darkhawk ever and made characters like the Guardians of the Galaxy even before they were remotely popular (outside of cosmic Marvel fans).

replace blastaar with DOOM and you made this team infinitely stronger and deadlier
also i would probably replace ultron with mephisto

samsson37 08-26-2014 05:43 AM

^^^^^^
Make the team with characters that actually have figures, is the point I think he was trying to make....

bmorr 08-26-2014 07:45 AM

Came up with a quick, cheap, and easy dio idea. I had some cracked and broken concrete pavers. I pieced them together to make a war torn urban landscape. It consequently works for any scale. What do you guys think:

Probably, but I don't feel like Doom would be a team player, he's pretty full of himself. That and I don't have a Doom figure.

Yeah, pretty much. In retrospect I could of replaced Blastaar with Mister Sinister and that would read off as a better line up, but I did it the way I did and I can't change that.

I don't have any Select figures, I try to keep to the MU scale (everything says 3.75" but it's always closer to 4").

I suppose to create the ultimate villain line up I would have replaced Blastaar with Adam Warlock and just said "we don't have a Magus figure yet, but technically it's the same guy." I did some minor reasoning to my line up, would these guys work together? What does one bring to the table compared to the others? How good do they look together? That's why even if I had a Doom or Mephistopheles they wouldn't be here, because Thanos trusts neither of 'em, and he and Apocalypse definitely play team leaders here. Ultimately this was just supposed to be a fun hypothetical question, I for one would like to see some more Anti-Annihilators line ups (that name almost sounds like a good team).

kylactus 08-26-2014 11:48 AM

Anti-annihilators? would that be the rebuilders? it sounds like a cosmic version of Damage control.

ukmu 08-26-2014 12:08 PM

I like your team En Sabah..... I would trade Galactus for Apocolypse though.

the pavers are cool..... spread a little debris around and some fire printed on pare in the bug 'crack' and you got it mate! maybe a fallen one here and there if you got spares. Take a HYDRA shot for your boy........

It's hard to name a super-villain team when the good guy counterpart has an evil sounding name. Why did Cosmo think that "The Annihilators" would sound like something helpful?!

Maybe it's just me, but I've never really thought of Galactus as evil, he's kind of just doing his job. Like the Celestials (though no one really considers them evil) they create life in the universe and then destroy entire solar systems on a whim, but they're just doing their job. Has anyone else ever thought that Galctus' helmet looks like a bottle cap opener? It's the fins on the side, I feel like the Celestials or the Living Tribunal can just grab Galactus whenever they want and use his head as a means to satisfy their thirst for cola.

hey I will man.

wylde bil 08-26-2014 03:01 PM

i never think of doom as evil actually, i feel he is a man that thinks so much of his abilities that he firmly believes he is a better option then anyone else cause he will do whatever it take, however it takes to ensure the planet and the human race survive; and him as the leader naturally lol

and lets be honest, kang, doom and thanos have worked together and they never trust each other, also as a robot kang and/or doom would wind up controlling ultron

Doom has usually gone out of his way to secure power for himself, he may believe it's for the better, but it's harmful to everyone else and he does it with intent. Actually I always thought Apocalypse being a technopath (among many other things) would keep Ultron, Kang, or anyone with technology in line. Of course eventually these guys have a falling out, that's how the good guys win.

Yes defiantly...I completed my gotg legends and the mandroid figures. Iron patriot, ironman Agent venom and hope summers...not many other figures interests me unless I get war machine . Probably get back into the MU figures again

It was interesting that Thanos was concerned about Gladiator though.

Yeah, I would say Beta-Ray Bill was best next to Silver Surfer. Perhaps Thanos only meant that Gladiator would be the hardest to actually deal with considering his belief-fueled durability. Bill reads as more powerful but not as difficult for Thanos to directly deal with. I don't recall all of Gladiator's feats, but I know that Beta-Ray has shattered planets and even harmed Galactus directly.
Thor did beat Gladiator, and as Thor's equal it stands to reason that Bill could too.

ChuckSass 08-26-2014 10:51 PM

Thanos may be in my top 5
