Sorry about the re-post of 4 of these pics, but I finished up what I had put together in my mind's eye. I might have gone further, but I have to figure out how to get more out of these petite female bucks. If Hasbro is going to keep making 'agile' female heroes, my hope is that they address the limited torso peg...

I have to say, all these pictures are really making me consider getting the female Beetle. And I could potentially want to get Venom and Speed Demon eventually and there you go that's 5 of the 7....at some point I'm going to slap myself for not ordering a case.

Crazy. It's almost as if the real world and, by extension, the fanbase (both existing and potential) is a diverse mix of people of all genders looking for characters to identify with and/or enjoy.

Depending on how I feel once they're in-hand, Speed Demon and Venom may be two that I'm selling off from my case (definitely gonna get rid of at least one Ben Spidey, and Absorbing Man). Would you like me to shoot you a PM if that ends up being the case?

Sure thats fine but no pressure. I'm not even sure I'll get those. I'm kind of thinking Speed Demon only because he was a member of the Thunderbolts for a time (where is our Songbird darn it!!) and I'm fairly happy with my Marvel Select Venom. I will probably bite and get the Beetle though. I was just thinking I was doing good just wanting 2 of the 7...:o

Fair enough.

And yeah, where IS our Songbird? I mean, she's had a prototype just idling for how long? Maybe with her being field leader in New Avengers she'll get released. Though I'd rather the longer hair on her, but I'll buy her either way. C'mon Hasbro!

For me, I definitely wanted Gwen, Venom, Morbius, Jack O'Lantern, and I sort of wanted Reilly, so it only made sense for me to just get the entire case. If anything, I'll sell off Speed Demon and Beetle down the line when I go to sell Giant Man, Bulldozer, Goliath, and whatever else I don't want at the time.

Spyne98 01-05-2016 11:04 AM

Blue Marvel, what stands do you use? They look a lot better than the ones I have. You pics are awesome!
Also, if anyone wants to get rid of the Silvermane head on the car, let me know. :)

I thought that too, but Beetle/Mockingbird's thighs are a lot skinnier than the curvier buck. I also read on thefwoosh that they were a new buck, but again I don't think that's been confirmed yet. One thing I'm guessing is that they're an update of the Hasbro Black Widow/Elektra/Mystique buck, just streamlined.

TBM, would you be able to do a quick comparison of Beetle with Wasp to confirm? Oh and I agree, the lack of ab crunch on female figures sucks big time. I've found it very difficult to get Mayday and Spider-Girl into good poses!

TheBlueMarvel 01-05-2016 11:32 AM

@Spyne

Thanks, my man! In those pics, I used a combination of Stage Act 4 and Obitsu stands. Personally, I find the Obitsu stands to be much more versatile...and they are dirt cheap. Obitsu stands break easily, but the cost mitigates any potential replacement in the big picture.

@BoyBlunder

Hey dude, will you have leftover Absorbing Man parts when you are finished? Specifically, the torso and legs. I can live with buying another Speed Demon, Jack O'Lantern, and Beetle. However, considering that I may build three Creel variations, I'm in the market for spare parts...

Im 90% sure those are obitsu stands, i bought one just now from amazon fairly cheaply or you can try ebay

Already on it, homeboy! I was thinking of it last night and dug out my Wasp to shoot something up. I'll post it when I get back home tonight, but that won't be until morning your time. I don't think they are the same, but we'll see...

I ordered the Ben Reilly x2 case, so I'll have two sets of the plain/silver arms, but the plan was to sell off a complete Creel (though without the arms attached, so the buyer could decide which of the two sets to use, since they can't be popped on and off I believe?). So in a way, yes? Ideally I'd like to sell the set together - I've got too many loose BAF parts sitting around as it is.

Not sure you know anything about comics, but in case you don't. do you realize how many spider women there currently are now in the marvel universe?

im a spider-man and spider family big time fan, however i think we have quite a few already prior to both of them coming in and they (marvel) aren't even utilizing all of them.

1 - Each of the Spider-Woman/Spider-Girl characters (Gwen, Silk, Mayday, Anya, and Jessica) has a different backstory, personality, set of motivations, and set of circumstances that they have to deal with, which may appeal to a different set of readers looking for a particular type of character or story.

2 - Who isn't being utilized? Of the five I listed, three have their own ongoing titles, and the other two are part of an Exiles-like Spider-team with its own book. If you branch out beyond them, the only ones I can think of who aren't being utilized are Julia Carpenter (currently Madam Web and therefore more of a background/non-action character), Mattie Franklin (deceased, unfortunately), and Charlotte Witter (comatose). Heck, I'd say this is one of the times where just about every major member of the Spider-Family is being utilized!

Yes, I really do hope that when/if songbird gets released it's the longer hair version as well. She is one of those few MIA's along with Blade and Moonstar, I think is it right?

Spider-women who are CURRENTLY NOT being utilized.
1.Julie carpenter black and white costume - now is considered madame web.
2.Ultimate spider-woman Red and white costume from the ultimate universe. didn't even appear if i recall correctly in Spider-verse story line.
3.Lady spider mechanical spider arms. Appeared in Spider-verse and that's really about it as far as i've seen
4.ashley barton - last appeared in Spider verse and that's about it.

currently the only spider-women that are being used on a regular in the "All New All Different Marvel"

1 Spider Gwen in her solo series and web warriors title
2 Silk in her second solo series
3 Jessica Drew
4 Anya corazon in web warriors
5 Mayday parker briefly was in the web warriors first issue, not sure of any more because i didn't continue getting that series.

I can see a case for Ultimate Spider-Woman, just because I know a lot of fans love her, but Lady Spider and Ashley Barton... do they really have enough character, or interest, to be used? Admittedly, I petered (heheh) out partway through Spider-Verse, so I don't know everything that happened there in detail, but they both seemed rather one-shot-y. Like characters that appear in 'What If?' stories. And even then, Ashley is supposedly getting a figure in the next Spider-Man wave, so we probably haven't seen the last of her.

Awesome, thank you so much, man! Really appreciate your help. If it is indeed a skinnier buck, I hope that the rumoured Kitty Pryde is on that build. She's never been a particularly buxom lass, more of a gangly, book worm kind.

They may not do exactly right by sculpt or paint sometimes, but man Hasbro is coming up with more body diversity than even ToyBiz. Male characters have the skinny Spider-Man buck, Bucky/standard, larger Grim Reaper frame, Sentry/superhuman buck, and suited. Female characters have teen buck, Scarlet Witch/curvy, Moonstone/muscular, and superhuman Red She Hulk buck. Quite an array of body sizes!

Ultimate Jessica Drew (aka Pete's clone) had a costume change after Galactus attacked the Ultimate universe, changing her name to Black Widow I believe, and is the character in Spider-Verse hanging out with Miles. She now sports a jacket and short hair, so she does look different.

I'm hoping that the Kitty Pryde buck will have some poofy sleeves and be painted blue. Because honestly, (and just speaking for myself here of course) that is the only way I'm going to want to buy another Kitty Pryde figure.

Not even her Marvel Now costume?!

We DO need an Excalibur box set, though. Redux Captain Britain, Shadowcat, Rachel as Phoenix, Meggan, Pete Wisdom, and for hilarity's sake Jamie Braddock!

I think that's genius business actually. You'll have her probably wave after Civil War's movie figs.

I'm going to end up wanting 2 Onslaughts. Red Onslaught and regular. So, any unwanted BAF parts, send my way.
But seriously, I'll buy them from you.
