We DO need an Excalibur box set, though. Redux Captain Britain, Shadowcat, Rachel as Phoenix, Meggan, Pete Wisdom, and for hilarity's sake Jamie Braddock!

Not even her marvel now costume. I pretty much look at every costume of hers except the blue Shadowcat outfit as being the same - excluding short lived outfits like in X-Treme X-Men/Mechanix and her roller skate outfit. It's all pretty much generic X-uniform. But I'd gladly take that blue outfit.

They may not do exactly right by sculpt or paint sometimes, but man Hasbro is coming up with more body diversity than even ToyBiz. Male characters have the skinny Spider-Man buck, Bucky/standard, larger Grim Reaper frame, Sentry/superhuman buck, and suited. Female characters have teen buck, Scarlet Witch/curvy, Moonstone/muscular, and superhuman Red She Hulk buck. Quite an array of body sizes!

Ultimate Jessica Drew (aka Pete's clone) had a costume change after Galactus attacked the Ultimate universe, changing her name to Black Widow I believe, and is the character in Spider-Verse hanging out with Miles. She now sports a jacket and short hair, so she does look different.

i thought that was supposed to be ashley barton??? i remember finishing that the begining to the middle of last year.

Totally agree with Redfox on the costume choice for Silk.

I have to admit that I also steered away from Silk's solo book because I could not stand the art. Art I dislike will drive me away from a series even if the writing is good. I need that visual component (surprising since I am mostly tactile and auditory inclined) when it comes to comics.

@donmecca
Yes, the pic VonPooten linked is Ultimate Spider-Woman/Black Widow. I loved that character. Sad that she apparently went out with the Ultimate Universe. I would have really liked her, Bombshell and Ultimate Cloak and Dagger to come to the new universe with Miles.

@TBM...CURSE YOU SIR! No really, more awesome pics and now I want those figures! My wallet curses you sir! Keep up the great work LOL!

@Spyne
Check out Hobbylink Japan for those Obitsu stands TBM mentioned. Be advised, they are always back-ordered. That being said, mine shipped in a few weeks and they are dirt cheap if you buy enough to offset the shipping. I believe I bought 10 at the time which put them to about $3 each.

i also bought her first issue of her first mini series prior to secret wars, the art was just such a turn off it was ridiculous.

@Von

Here are the no-frills pics. I don't have the proper set up to do these sort of things, but they appear to be different bodies. They are different in all the ways I pm'ed (spare the thread).

@Kirathis

These aren't exactly 'awesome,' but they're 'more' pics...almost on demand! Hah!

^yep

Also, lordbest, your post works amazingly well with the expression Steven's got in your icon.

Yeah I think what people forget is that it isn't diversity being forced, the real world IS diverse, its comics which have been artificially constrained until recently.

Thanks heh.

im a spider-man and spider family big time fan, however i think we have quite a few already prior to both of them coming in and they (marvel) aren't even utilizing all of them.

Spider-verse isn't my biggest area of interest,I've never particularly liked Peter Parker/Spider-man. I've actually got more interested in Spider characters thanks to Anya Corazon in Avengers Assemble (the Bendis/Deconnick run), Spider-gwen and Silk.
I'm just saying there are plenty of Spider-men, and not all of them are being utilized so I don't really see a problem with there being more. Though focusing on telling stories with the current ones would be sensible.

I started collecting Marvel Legends because I found an Anya Corazon Spider-girl figure in a local Target after I had just finished reading the Avengers Assemble story arc with her. One of the things I really like about the line is that with a third of each wave being female characters I might actually get my favourite females as well as males, unlike most other lines. Looking at you The Black Series 6".

With her in a new comic, I hope she'll re-blip Hasbro's radar. My vote also goes for the long hair version. The short-hair would be salt in the wound.

Eh, really? But the other was just a repainted F4 Susan Storm figure. I'd love an update with an extra ponytail head.

Kirathis 01-05-2016 08:36 PM

Hrm, Beetle actually looks like a mix of a couple bucks. Definitely the Wasp upper half but different thighs and calves. They look more like those on Spider-Gwen. Hard to tell with the feet.

En Sabah Nerd 01-05-2016 08:43 PM

I wish Beetle came with her briefcase so she could do some lawyering. Not a real verb but whatever.

ultraman zoffy 01-05-2016 08:59 PM

Beetle is instantly getting painted up into a classic Wasp as soon Dorkside gets their ish together and actually ships this wave out. =)

My pics don't capture the details well, but you'll see when you get it (if you go to the image host, you can zoom in - I shoot in macro). Like Misty Knight, the upperbody is an entirely new mold. The straps and seams you see are sculpted details, not painted on. The peg holes in the back are also in a different location than on Wasp.

@Raf
HAhahahaha! I should have put that on the post!

Dr Kain 01-05-2016 10:29 PM

So I've seen a few people post their top 10 ML figures of 2015 and I figured why the hell not? 2015 was the year that got me back into Marvel.

10. Rhino
9. Thanos
8. Thor
7. Scarlet Witch
6. Hulkbuster
5. Kraven
4. Spider-man 2099
3. Ghost Rider
2. DareDevil
1. Pizza Spidey

So, anyone interested in that Silvermane RC car accessory that comes with Speed Demon? Have no desire to keep it ourselves, and I know a lot of folks wanna make a custom cyborg Silvermane figure.

Love the dance routine! Thank you again mate for posting these, it's very nice to know that Hasbro are offering some more variation with parts. Not only the new thigh pieces, but the sculpted details on her bodice/corset and lack of just reusing Wasp's upper body is a very exciting hint of Hasbro's upcoming quality in 2016!

Not only that, but I really like that new hand, haha. It's akin to the Jim Lee Jean Grey hand, but nicely streamlined and without the bulbous joint sticking out.

Very nice.. Now if only we could get a teenage male buck for Miles Morales and other younger characters, we'd be set!

Anywho guys my absorbing man wave should be here this evening. However since i'll be at work i'll have to wait later on tonight til i can pick it up at my parents house...

By the way for anyone who curious about BBTS supersaver shipping? It's fedex and geezz it's taken them a long while to get here to florida.. next time i'll spend the extra buck or 2 and get ups or usps delivery. I have now lost 100% of confidence with fedex.

I got the Super Saver with mine as well, and I thought it was all right. Order placed on Christmas, arrived yesterday, all good. Part of the reason it takes a bit (I figure) is due to it being a combined FedEx/USPS thing.

they supposedly shipped these out the week after christmas, and now it finally gets here today? i guess i have a bad taste in my mouth about them considering one of their employees delivered some hellboy beer that i had ordered to some other residence and i was never able to recover it.....

oh well anyways the box got here today at my folks house prior to me leaving to go to work i saw it. i'll post some pics tonight.

Oh no, I understand having bad blood with FedEx. I refuse to use them if there's another option, due to the number of times they've 'claimed' to have attempted delivery, but didn't actually even try to knock on the door (if they even tried to get into our apartment complex in the first place - gated and whatnot), and we've had to drive halfway across the county to pick up the package from their distribution center. At least UPS and USPS will leave stuff on the front porch (which is well hidden from prying eyes, so).

Which is why we went with the Super Saver, since the final leg of delivery is handled by USPS, not FedEx. And between that and being cheap, I'm down (also, I'm fortunate enough to have a decent rapport with our local postal crew, since I do a lot of eBay shipping through them).
