@Gilroy.... I would say there is a lot of interest. If you can make it, we have some of the GREATEST amateur and professional casters in the world right here. You could build the prototype and they could then make them cheaper and locally with higher quality resins and you guys could share the profit perhaps. Win win win for you, the caster and our collecting community!!!!

Doom's throne, Kang's chair, Hawkeye's Skycyle and about 300 other things!!!

samsson37 09-09-2014 07:30 AM

def kangs chair !!!

Kilroy 09-09-2014 08:47 AM

Kang's Time Chair and Hawkeye's Sky cycle sounds like a lot of fun to make. Is there a definitive version of Kang's chair?

montressor 09-09-2014 10:58 AM

I agree with UKMU there are tons of things a person with a 3D printer could do to scratch some itches the 4" marvel collector community has.

ukmu 09-09-2014 11:02 AM

I personally like the EARTHS MIGHTIEST HEROES look from the cartoon for Kangs chair

K Dubious 09-09-2014 12:58 PM

I recently purchased an old "Final Jedi Duel" playset made by Kenner. I bought it just for the chair the emperor is sitting in because to me it is perfect for Kang. It is attached to the display so I still need to come up with a "Base" for it, but I should have a completed version by the end of the month...stay tuned

samsson37 09-09-2014 01:41 PM

A red chair from the GI joe terror dome might work as a starter chair for kang

Unfortunately Hasbro is too big to have any reliable customer service, I wish they did, but they don't.

I don't think the shop I got her from will let me do a return. Hopefully Red She Hulk will appear again………..

If you have Fred Meyers near you they have buy 1 get 1 half off on almost everything in the toy section right now.

Got some free time and a 3D printer and was thinking of doing something on the side for fun. By the way, please do check out my fb page: facebook.com/playingmantisphilippines

Got a custom Ghost Rider bike on display there.

Definitely Dr. Doom's throne! A Cobra Commander throne would be great too!
How about the different Fantasticars?
Captain America's motorcycle
SHIELD flying car
Thanos's space throne

ukmu 09-09-2014 10:36 PM

Thanos floating chair!!!!!! Yes!

GotG being signed on for Avengers three!!!!!!!!!

Now if we don't see some 3.75" love from this, then I will sell my entire collection for a dollar! Thanos being beaten by the Avengers (with Sony's SpiderMan too maybe) and being finished off by Drax.... wow! Maybe a scale Milano from the film could be on the menu even!

A fantasticar sounds like a lot of fun to do too. We've done Ghostrider's bike too.

Sony teaming with Disney is still just a rumor, while possible, very unlikely at the moment as Sony seems convinced that they can make their own cinematic universe with nothing but Spider-Man.
Guardians being in Avengers 3 has been implied since GotG was announced since Thanos will play main villain there and played mastermind role in GotG. That being said they've also been hinting periodically at Adam Warlock for the movies, which would make for the much more classic and epic final battle. I feel like Drax could never kill Thanos in the comics unless it was the way he did, all sneaky and from behind. Whereas Adam is Thanos' opposite and what not. Just my opinion here, but I would like something along the lines of Thanos' original death: Warlock is incapacitated/killed leaving the Avengers and whoever wants to help (in the comic it was really just Spider-Man and The Thing here) to fight a losing battle against Thanos until Adam is brought back into the fight and single-handily defeats/kills Thanos. They kinda used that again for the Infinity Gauntlet comic, but there Adam was much more detached and sent heroes to die so he could maneuver the Gauntlet out of Thanos' possession. Whatever route they go I'm sure they'll make it good.
The main point is I wanna see 3.75" scale toys for these characters. GotG was cheated in this scale, so we better not get screwed with A2 or A3.

That's been expected for a bit. Though I'm not sure if they will do it for Avengers 3 just yet. They have the Hands of the Mandarin as a story still left to tell that could involve the Avengers and they may want to keep Thanos for a 3rd guardians film now that the franchise has proven successful. The plan always did seem like Thanos was going to be in Avengers 3 though and we were going to see a team up movie between them at some point. So maybe hands of the mandarin is being slowly established for Avengers 4 instead. Not sure. It seems like a very heavy story device overlap between the mandarin's rings and the infinity stones. They may need to push that one back even more to avoid the similarities of alien jewelry causing world ending issues.

This kind of makes the choices for GOTG's line make sense now. The first line had a bigger emphasis on cost effective ships for the space themes and shows Hasbro is thinking ahead to allow for the 3.75'' line to show up either with a sequel or the avengers crossover. I have to give Hasbro credit for that one then. It's a smart move since GOTG was unproven as a property and now has high demand for the next one's line to fit into their other MCU offerings.

I feel like they messed up the Mandarin so much in Iron Man 3 that while I really want them to fix their mess, I'm also worried that they can't do it right at this point. Mandarin is always an Iron Man character first, so I wouldn't hope too much on seeing him in A4, maybe if they ever do an Iron Man 4, but right now RDJ's not too sure about that even happening. Technically even if Thanos dies in A3 he could come back greatly weakened for any future movies, kind of like when he joined the Infinity Watch (he didn't actually die there, but you see where I'm going with this).

I won't forgive Hasbro for the lame 2" figures until we have 3.75" figures in hand. Even then I'll always have a dislike of their decisions to do it the way they did.

They did establish in one of the short films that the real Mandarin exists and wasn't happy about the impostor either. So I'm thinking they have him on the back burner for later. While he is an Ironman enemy, he's also been highly over saturated. So I see why they did the new take with the impostor instead first and pushed back other plans for later. Between his over abundance in the 90s toon, armored adventures, and the animated film, it seems extremely logical to let those fade down more in memory first before approaching him moderately accurately on film. Plus this way buys them time to figure out how to re-envision him as not so much of a racist byproduct of the times he was created in. Plus the way they did it in IM3 was pretty much the only original take left on the character that hadn't been tried yet, and could only be done prior to bringing in the real one. It's one of the aspects of IM3 I praise actually, but that's because I'm personally worn out on Mandarin stories from the over saturation. Besides, it does leave the door open for him to be used later still. So it's really only a stall tactic to buy some time.

There was talk originally that IM3 would be the real one under Favreu with talk of Fin Fang Foom too. When Shane Black came on board plus other suggestions, they seemed to shift that around to be a mis-lead on purpose. It works beautifully too when you think about it. Especially with the infinity stones in play now. Two sets of alien jewelry immediately back to back would create a bit of a yawn. Doing it this way allows for a better build up. So I'd probably lean on Avengers 5 or 6 (if they make it that far) for Mandarin. The Hands of Mandarin is the biggest story he's been involved in from the past, and with it involving force works, it could be under an Ironman movie too. Depends where things go later since that's about a decade or so off. Granted they could have used it as a prelude to build into the infinity stones for Avengers 3 in showing the grander scope of what's out there as a pre-cursor, but we also don't know what's on the slate for phase 3 yet either. All we know so far is Ant-Man, Avengers: AoU, Cap 3, and Doctor Strange. They still have cards to flip over more or less and room to explore various forays. We may very well see him in an IM4 before Avengers 3 hits. Especially now that they are expanding the world they are in with more heroes. Hawkeye, Wonderman, and Scarlet Witch are the 3 that were most prevalent on Force Works outside of Century and War Machine. So maybe by IM4, Tony will think about starting a new team or back up team because of how large the roster is growing or whatever other factors can be used that have yet to be developed on the screen.

As a story device, it is an interesting tie back though. The ten rings of the first movie weren't part of Killian's group. Instead, it comes across as they were a large chunk of where he lifted his 'cover story' from besides the urban myths he took advantage of. All of which creates a much larger more epic impact later when that character does make its real debut. So in theory at least, they've got aspects still to tie all the way back into Ironman 1 if they want to use them. Now with GOTG in play too, alongside Thanos, the Makluans are easier to introduce now too as opposed to prior. Thor often gets a pass because of the norse roots, but his films helped establish the possibility better too since the Asgardians are considered more aliens with extremely advanced tech as opposed to actual gods in the MCU. So all the pieces are in place, it's just a matter of waiting for the best moment to use them for the best effect.

Personally, I also appreciate the reprieve for a bit. With so much other stuff on shelves, the spacing apart of figure lines like this for their main MCU collection really kind of alleviates the wallet stress. It lets some collectors focus more on other lines(most of which are hasbro owned too!) briefly before going right back full swing into hardcore marvel stuff.

Like for me, this lets me switch back to transformers generations for a bit, and catch up some other loose ends before going into trying to find the newest MCU stuff. (Also gives me time to debate on the giant Godzilla figure, TMNT movie figures, Doctor Who, and catch up on some Halo mega blocks too. Those are pretty much the only non-hasbro lines I collect or are looking into.)

Kilroy 09-10-2014 10:05 PM

Quick question: Have any of attempted a formal petition addressed to Hasbro on what 4 inch figures you want made? Is this something you guys would want to start?
