Not really? Since Spider-Gwen's design is pretty identifiable?

It's not just a generic Iron-Woman though. It's Rescue, and Rescue is 100% linked to Pepper Potts.

You don't need an alternate Peter Parker head in order to identify a classic Spider-Man figure as Peter Parker.

I know i could use a deadpool considering i dont have one.

Meh, I must admit that I really don't like Deadpool. In my opinion, he's the Call of Duty of comic book characters: the flashy "cool" thing that all the sixteen year-olds love.

I can certainly appreciate that others do like him, which is why I have no problem with him being in the wave. We won't get a movie figure though, as Marvel would donate all its properties to homeless people rather than openly promote a Fox movie.

Hah! You've just coined my personal definition of Deadpool moving forward!

It frustrates me because it's pretty easy to see the point that Marvel realized how damn popular he was and shifted the character to better match why most people liked him. He used to be a complete asshole but he desperately sought redemption without ever stopping to realize it was beyond him, since he became super popular he's just been turned into a clown. He used to freaking torture his so-called friends and now he won't shut up about Mexican food.

CHIMICHANGAS!! ;) heehee

I used to be a huge Deadpool fan, but lately he's been everywhere and I don't enjoy the character anymore. I want the 90's back haha.

Joe Kelly! Okay technically his stuff carried over into the very early 2000s as well.

It's true! At least for the past five years.

That's the thing. Years ago I still wasn't a fan of his, but I could understand for sure why people liked him and appreciated what it was that made him an intriguing character. Now, though? He's just a joke who substitutes decent depth for being a douche. Not my thing I must say, but power to Ryan Reynolds for bringing a very faithful version of that to the screen.

donmeca2020 01-10-2016 05:37 PM

I remember when Deadpool first came out, there was no popularity with him. Fast foward to 2014 i come to find out this guy is Almost as big as spider-man....

While im not the biggest fan of him, i don't dislike him. I however HATE that little nipple on the top of his head like how they currently draw him. I miss liefeld's version really.

I wouldn't mind adding him to one of my shelfs. He would be mixed with the rest of oddball characters.

lordbest 01-10-2016 06:35 PM

I can't believe anyone seriously thinks generic pretty blonde head is more important to Spider-gwen that her extremely distinctive mask and hood.

No kidding. I swapped heads once to see how it looked, then threw the unmasked head in the accessories bag and never looked back.

That's why I loved his character in Uncanny X-force. It was refreshing to see balanced characterization for Deadpool. He maintained his trademark humor, yet also had awareness and sensibility.

That volume was almost nothing but gold.

TheMattMan095 01-10-2016 07:57 PM

That last panel is freaky looking...

snake5289 01-10-2016 08:18 PM

How does he breath through that thing? It looks like he made his mask out of a plastic bag.

TheMattMan095 01-10-2016 08:21 PM

Ssshhh, don't ask questions...

:P

Maybe he doesn't, or at least not very well. His healing factor is very potent so it's possible that even though breathing through that thing would be a chore and not very rewarding his healing factor might make up for the difference. That or it's the same material as Spider-Man's mask, or Black Panther, Baron Zemo, Patriot, Moon Knight, Union Jack, Prowler, etc.

Maybe I'm mistaken then, but I could have sworn there was already an Iron-Woman in the 90s.

If so that's kinda lame. And most of their masks look like breathable fabric. His mask in that shot looks like a plastic bag.

If there was, she wasn't in the 616 continuity, and even then, the design of the Rescue armor originated with Rescue's introduction.

Yeah I know I was just spouting some BS explanation :p

Dr Kain 01-10-2016 10:15 PM

Meh, my bad then. Maybe it was just some toy they did for the Iron Man toyline.

Anyway, I keep forgetting to bring this up, but is the normal Absorbing Man head supposed to look like Igor with his eyes? They are both looking downward and the right eye is smaller than the left eye.

Boy Blunder 01-10-2016 10:55 PM

More or less, yeah. He's got that permanent 'yeahbuWHA?!' face going on.

Deadpool has gotten what I like to call "The Wolverine Treatment". Basically take a marginally popular character that as you said "all the sixteen year olds love" because it's cool to love him. Once that happens, throw him everywhere and into everything because people will eat it up. Yes I realize I probably just started a war with Wolverine fans.

I always found Deadpool amusing but it was mostly by random things I saw here and there or peoples accounts of his comics since I rarely got around to reading him. That being said, totally seeing the movie as I am a fan of Ryan Reynolds as an actor and Deadpool's humor is very much a style I enjoy.
