So my Speed Demon has a bit of a problem...

http://i.imgur.com/0YxSW3t.jpg?1

When I opened the figure, something about his armpit joint felt off to me and it took me a while to realize that the armpit joint was misaligned. I tried to sort of finagle it back into its proper position, but just now it came out on me. It seems it can be fixed simply by fitting the peg into the hole on the inside, only issue with that is the peg is much bigger than the hole.

I'm wondering how I can fix this without having to buy an entirely new figure.

Zorn88 01-11-2016 12:00 AM

^ Haha. LOVE that Maul figure.

Can anyone tell me if the ML Anti Venom is on clearance at Target, Walmart, etc?

Kirathis 01-11-2016 12:25 AM

@SymbiSpidey

You will probably have to crack the torso apart, add the shoulder back and re-glue the torso. I know there are methods customizers use to do exactly that, but I have not yet reached a level where I feel comfortable with that so I am not sure of the exact process.

snake5289 01-11-2016 12:32 AM

The best success I've had with that is putting a folded up towel around the figure and putting it in a vice but it's usually for an already broken figure I'm not worried about messing up. Otherwise it's only been about a 50/50 success rate so I'd only recommend that option if you really know what you're doing.

That's exactly it. Marvel sense what's popular and throw it onto everything they can get their mitts on, which is why I suspect Spider-Gwen will gain fatigue pretty soon. As for Wolverine, all I can say is thank god he's dead! I like the character, but having a break from him in the X-comics is brilliant. Only now, they've replaced with Old Man Logan..

Truer words have not been written. Anyone else sense that the synopsis for Civil War II is word for word the overarching story of Uncanny X-Force?

ChuckSass 01-11-2016 05:35 AM

@SymbiSpidey, my advice is send that back to Hasbro

warmachine6 01-11-2016 05:36 AM

speaking of dead pool I'm hoping he gets an updated body mold the original one was okay , when i bought iron fist , though feel hes more of a bucky cap mold or a spidey mold ... not sure we might get the same mold.
I have a feeling it will be a marvel now costume dead pool which looks cool
but we shall see or they might go for the classic look hard to say , since what they did by giving us a jim lee rouge

I always found Deadpool amusing but it was mostly by random things I saw here and there or peoples accounts of his comics since I rarely got around to reading him. That being said, totally seeing the movie as I am a fan of Ryan Reynolds as an actor and Deadpool's humor is very much a style I enjoy.

Haha agreed!

I don't recall wolverine ever being thrown all over the place like they do with deadpool... he reached a certain popularity but never to the ranks of spidey. DP is currently like DC's harley quinn. While they are not out doing their headliners, they are just always in spotlight at this moment.

Dr Kain 01-11-2016 07:15 AM

Add me into the camp that does not care for Deadpool either because of how over exposed this Deathstroke rip off is. I'll be seeing the movie mostly because my g/f wants to see it.

Captain Nash 01-11-2016 07:23 AM

I'm also not a huge Deadpool fan. I don't think he's an awful character but I don't see the appeal. It's become one of those forced "you're going to like this character because WE want you to" type of things, and I usually do not go for that at all.

Sorry to butt in here, but Spider-Gwen has been one of the company's biggest female successes in a while. She was made for a one-shot, and the issue sold like hotcakes. People—myself included—love Spider-Gwen,

The only spider character who may have a cooler costume is Ultimate Spider-Woman… or Julia Carpenter, Venom and Symbiotic Spidey owes her a thank you.

You don't remember the early 90's? You'd have thought Wolverine, Punisher, and Ghost Rider were Marvel's flagship characters...not Spidey, Cap, Iron Man, and Hulk. It was the age of multiple foil covers, heroes with trench-coats and guns, and mullets for both men and women. Cool and terrible all at once.

@SymbiSpidey

That stinks, man. For everyone who is still waiting for your AB wave to arrive, you might be lucky. I got my set before most and two to three of my figs were shipped (BBTS) with paint damage. I think that first wave was rushed a bit to make it out before the end of the year. I may start waiting for a week or two after the waves are in hand at BBTS (or whatever distributor). Give Hasbro's QC an opportunity to address any issues that crop up with a wave.

Yeah I remember. God I miss comics in the 90s. Everything was useless pouches and ultra violence.

That's... pretty much what I was already saying. That Spider-Gwen, for being a (still) relatively new character, has a very iconic and memorable design, and that you don't need an alternate unmasked Gwen head to know who the character is, or for her to stand out among other similar characters.

Totally agree with you there!! My favorite rendition of DP and X-Force.

I refuse to use them if there's another option, due to the number of times they've 'claimed' to have attempted delivery, but didn't actually even try to knock on the door (if they even tried to get into our apartment complex in the first place - gated and whatnot), and we've had to drive halfway across the county to pick up the package from their distribution center. At least UPS and USPS will leave stuff on the front porch (which is well hidden from prying eyes, so).

Which is why we went with the Super Saver, since the final leg of delivery is handled by USPS, not FedEx. And between that and being cheap, I'm down (also, I'm fortunate enough to have a decent rapport with our local postal crew, since I do a lot of eBay shipping through them).

I always use the Fedex option to hold it at their store location so I can pick it up myself. Saves time and hassle from having to be their to sign it, no problems.

In Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force the team (really just Phantomex) kills the reborn Apocalypse even though he is just a child because they're fairly certain he'll grow up to be a genocidal monster and this leads to all kinds of crazy fallout both literal and emotional. Civil War II, which I think is a dumb idea overall, will have the similar dilemma proposed: is it fit to punish someone for crimes they have yet to commit?

If the feet even get drawn, and don't just fade into vertical black streaks among the scenery.

snake5289 01-11-2016 12:55 PM

Faults and all I'll take 90s extreme over the modern garbage that seems to be the majority of today's comics.

Eh. Basic Human Anatomy. How important is that anyways. :p

Maybe we need a wave of figures based off of...ahem...a certain artist's stylistic interpretations of the characters. Or at least a BAF that contains no feet parts. And REALLY tiny torso on the female characters, and TWO parts needed for each shoulder.

@Snake, yes I do agree. I prefer my 80's and 90's comics (and I guess 2000-2004 weren't too bad either) to what has been out the last decade, minus a few storylines and isolated runs here and there. If not for Mike Carey's run I may have well ended my X-Men collecting then and there years ago. He was just what was needed at time, and what could definitely have been needed recently. Oh well....

That i kinda do remember.... there was a brief time that those 3 were pretty hot, however still not on the level of spidey.

Specifically the 'Days of Preemptive Future' story from Remender's Uncanny X-Force, which acts as a culmination of the whole series' discourse. Essentially it's the whole notion of profiling and arresting individuals based on who could commit a crime, linking directly to post-9/11 paranoia and the US Patriot Act. The series is a fantastic read, if people have given a thought to picking it up!

Now we skip forward a few years, and apparently Bendis is rehashing both this storyline and that of police brutality based on prejudice, which he's already covered, both in Scarlet and not two years ago in Uncanny X-Men. Seems like Marvel's just taking everything from the X-Men and reusing it in the wider universe.
