Did your Soltic and Dougram have a diecast inner frame and plastic removable armor? Asking because, if so, I had those too! My dad bought them at a local model store in the town I grew up. Looking back it's nothing short of a miracle that they had something so cool.

Yup, they did! And the most fragile and miniscule decals that I botched horribly having little experience with applying them. They really were a marvel from a design standpoint. The armor was modular and they had some sort of shock absorbing spring system in the lower leg. I also had a diecast and plastic Mugen Calibur jeep-mech (non-transforming) in the same scale. It had similar plastic armor plates, but wasn't as innovative or cool as Dougram and Soltic. Good stuff, we seem to have a few childhood parallels...Rom, Crystar, Dougram, Soltic, etc. It's nice review common memories. :thumbs

Thanks to SpasticPlastic, I finally got my Crystal Ball after Walmart cancelled my order (like so many others), and I’m nowhere near one of those magical Walmarl that actually have him in stock.

Richard “Crystal Ball” King.
According to Yojoe.com, “famous horror author Stephen King is connected to this figure. Depending on how the story is told, either he or his son, Owen (who was a big G.I.Joe fan and who was the namesake for Sneak Peek), created Crystal Ball and wrote the filecard”. King published five short novels under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. So Richard King is obviously the combination of Richard Bachman and Stephen King. On Crystal Ball’s filecard, it stated that his mother is from Bangor, Maine. One of 3 homes of Stephen King, was in Bangor, Maine. Sneak Peek’s birthplace in his filecard, is also Bangor, Maine.
