Could it be possible that people are buying the family dollar one and then returning the regular thors?
Do both thors have the same bar code?
Do they even scan bar codes at the family dollar stores (I'm in Canada so I don't know)?

Freaky- it was the normal one with the more realistic colors- no blue hammer or anything.

Had you ever been there before? That's weird to have 2+ year old figures still on pegs. It's like a barn car!

This is what part of my room looked like a few months ago:

My extra MU's look like evil's set up. I've got to take some updated pics.

Nice! I like the mixing of the series, makes the whole setup look like an awesome toy store. :)

That's all the FD's in Albuquerque have. No blue variants anywhere in town!

We don't have Family Dollar stores here in CA, but I was in El Paso for work last month and saw the same thing, all the FD stores there only had the regular versions of Thor and Cap, no variants. I doubt they were all returns. I suspect that some of the cases had variants and some did not, and due to how distribution works, the cases with variants wound up in some areas while the ones without wound up in other areas. I hate these sort of "regional" variants, but the same thing happened in 2010 with the Death Mask Archangel, Classic Havok, and Norman Osborn variants. None of them hit anywhere near Northern California, I had to resort to ebay for all those figures.

My review of the new comic packs is up on my site now. Check it out and let me know what you think guys.

Got my "Rewards R Us" in my e-mail the other day... even tou they say "in store only" I was able to use them on the TRU website... I tried the $5 one (valid until 1/13/12) and it worked. I then tried a separate order and used the $4 one (valid 1/14/12 - 1/28/12) and not only did it work, but it also gave $5 off instead of 4. Pretty stoked since it makes the figures just about retail with free shipping!

If anyone doesn't want their coupons PM me the #'s ;-) lol

good review of the comic packs , fallen one.
yeah the two family dollar stores, near me only had the regular version of cap and thor. but i did find a clear hand electro at wal mart, huge improvement, the paint job on him is awesome

bmorr 01-02-2012 12:21 PM

went toy hunting today, and I was THIS close to finding something new. Two different targets told me they had new stuff, and neither offered to bring out the case...in thier defense they hinted at tommorrow.

I had found a FD with the figures but they too only had the regular Thor. No Cap in sight either.

Marvel Kid 01-02-2012 01:18 PM

I was watching some Marvel Anime, Hulk vs Thor and Hulk vs Wolverine the other day, and I figure that Hulk is almost unstoppable! Just to show some appreciation for one of my favourite Marvel Character, the unstoppable Hulk!

You got him angry? U got it!
http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/8556/img5500j.th.jpg
So how many soldiers does it take to put a stop to the Hulk's destruction?
http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/3342/img5489k.th.jpg
Not even the Mighty Thor can withstand the power of the Hulk!
http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/421/img5505w.th.jpg
Wolverine messes with the unstoppable Hulk..
http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/1...g5521sh.th.jpg
And this is what u get for messing around with the Hulk!

Wow! Incredible set up there!
WELCOME TO TOYARK!
Anythng you're looking for, we're here to help! Also to trade all your cool swag with!

A Question- is that Bumblebee or just a 1:18th scale car?

My roomie just called to say he scored me Ultimate IM in Miami!
The only one I was missing!

Sweeet.
Yesterday I scored from my LCS- an extra Iron Mpnger if anyone wants to trade for one of the new female figures....or I might repaint him into some AIM or Hydra suit...

Also scored small T3 tank I'd never seen before- it's only 2.75" tall- and might become another Evil Herbir body....ir maybe a small flying death machine with the right customizing.

It's a night to stay inooors and customize! It's dropping waaaay the hell into the 40's tonight! Holy frozen testicles, Batman!

BigHanksCustoms 01-02-2012 02:35 PM

Hey Jason, is that the Comic Iron MOnger? If so would you hold it for me until I get back to Lauderdale (Sun)? I'd like to meet up with you one day, maybe do a little hunting or meet at that comic shop you spoke of.
