There will be a Mcfarlane Multiverse panel at SDCC this year
https://i.imgur.com/euo8QsI.png

What we can expect:
No Female reveals cause they cause cooties.
20 new Batmans
10 new Supermans

and more reissues of figures in funky paint

Specter 07-09-2023 09:19 PM

So im thinking of getting into this line but I have a question about the scale.
is it consistent throughout or more to the specific iterations

Like if I have
Injustice Batman would he scale well to Arkham Catwoman, Gal Wonder Woman, etc?

Unfortunately...no. Todd's scale, as well as his proportions, are all over the place. At one point he was using one of his Robin figures as a unit of measurement during his reveal videos as if that was some sort of industry standard.

Oh man, thanks

It can be washy but I'd say they generally mesh well together, or at least close enough. I've got around 50 McFarlane Multiverse figures including game and movie versions and only two or three feel blatantly out-of-size to the others. There are definitely inconsistencies with certain characters though like 3 Jokers Batman is totally bigger than Rebirth Batman even though both are comic looks. The figures that aim to capture an artist's specific style are more likely to stand out against the bulk of the line and I tend to section those off to their own pocket displays.

These are fictional characters in a medium where each rendition is defined by the artist so the idea of strictly adhering to a set scale just isn't going to pan out across the board and so holding toys of said characters to a strict scale is a bit silly to me. Generalizations on the other hand are easier to capture and when those are failed it's more head-scratch-worthy like when Mattel made Big Barda the size of a normal woman and therefore shorter than Mister Miracle.

You called it. Hahaha! This is a shitty repaint of the same Superman figure. What’s next? DKR all black Superman/Batman two pack? Lmao.

I’m guessing McFarlane will show off a pirate Batman.

deecee4 07-10-2023 10:58 AM

Wow, that looks absolutely terrible.

ThorOdinson123 07-10-2023 01:07 PM

A figure worthy of Gold Label cause nobody wants this crap. SDCC exclusive

Cyclopswc 07-10-2023 01:21 PM

I guess that's McFarlane's interpretation of "cell shading", a figure that only look right if you pose it a certain way and look at it from a specific angle. Except in this case, not even they can pose it in a way that looks like the artwork it's supposedly based on. So it just looks like a Two-Face Superman.

Seriously Todd? That Superman is embarrassing.

Thats not cell shading, this look just got pelted with tomatoes!

firmpulse 07-10-2023 02:46 PM

Stupid

TheBlueMarvel 07-10-2023 02:58 PM

^lol one word is all that's needed for this...

User897 07-10-2023 03:01 PM

Even for this questionable line, this Superman is the WORST figure I've seen since (insert another Todd figure here).

Primehunter 07-10-2023 06:29 PM

WOW, talk about your pieces of crap!!!

SpasticPlastic 07-10-2023 08:25 PM

I hope he's available online at some point! If not, I'll be paying out the arse on eBay for him.

Zigerlion 07-10-2023 09:56 PM

Todd saw Hasbro's craptastic cell shaded figures and went: "hmmm, how can I make shading worse?"

Is that Injustice Superman after he's murdered half the planet?

Nah. He was stopping for a hot dog and accidentally squeezed the catsup bottle too hard.

Skoob 07-11-2023 01:44 AM

Talk about 'scraping the bottom of the barrel.' This is just sad.

CosmicCreature 07-11-2023 03:05 AM

Im not upset now I dont have to try get the con exclusives . Im just happy its not a classic version of a character .
I dont blame Mcfarlane for trying to make money all these weird repaints on the same tooling over and over .I just pass them by maybe somebody likes them. it would probably drive me a bit crazy to be a completest for this line.

Whatever happened to the Cyborg baf wave from target ? wasnt there a Wonder woman possibly in that wave?

ghostbogey 07-11-2023 05:06 AM

The "Sup"...
is Cool..

In a "Postmodernism"...
"Artsy" kind of way...

Did I...
just say that???? ;^)

RodimusZX 07-11-2023 08:11 AM

I actually don't mind it all that much... of course it will depend on if I can get it or not without a lot of trouble, if it's a huge line or whatever I'll probably give up.

Man, can you imagine if classic Wonder Woman is made an SDCC exclusive??? I mean, the mold would still show up later at some point, but that would be some premium Todd trolling for sure :p
