@SymbiSpidey... I'm glad my recent Doc Ock posts was able to inspire you to go out and grab him. He looks perfect in your rogues gallery there!

Glad to see that Onslaught series Goblin there as well. One of my favorite Toy Biz era figures ever!

Aside from Doc Ock and Electro, he's the only Toy Biz Spidey figure still on display for me. TB Green Goblin is by far one of my favourite MLs, he is bang on perfect!

Definitely. I thoroughly enjoy Taskmaster and Maya Lopez aka Echo not primarily for their character/personality (although that does add to it), but for their awesome powers. Muscle mimicry/photographic reflexes is an extremely useful skill if utilised by the author correctly, unlike that lackluster Ultimate Spider-Man clip...

Très bon! Toy Biz's Gambit can still hold up against Hasbro's figures, as the coat hides the obvious shoulder/hip joints.

Deadpool vol 2 #9.

Looking for a classic Iron-Man but don't know which one to get.

The Series 1 Toybiz one is bulkier and bigger (which I like as I plan on having him displayed next to Face Off Cap) plus he fits in better with the War Machine that I already have. Unfortunately, he has gorilla arms syndrome.

Then there's Hasbro's take on it, which I think has better proportions overall, but he's too tiny and the lack of ankle pivot kinda bothers me.

Good news , Cap.A Civil war Marvel Legends in TRU UK

going for £25 a piece for me thats a bit pricey for an ML will be cheaper to get the boxset from a different store maybe.
Any more higher and i might stop collecting ML's

I've owned both and I prefer the Hasbro version. The rotation joint at the shoulder was always hard to move on the Toy Biz version. My Series 3 Magneto and the Silver Centurion were the same way too (they were all retools of the classic IM armor).

While the Hasbro one is smaller, the classic Iron Man armor wasn't very bulky. It was mostly for protection, flight and repulsor blasts with a few electronics here and there. You can check out some shots here:

Such an underrated figure.... Love the accessories of that Gambit

donmeca2020 01-30-2016 01:21 PM

so considering most of you have picked up your captain america wave, i might go today on my lunch time and go check out a TRU near my job..... "crosses fingers" maybe i can find some today.

redfox 01-30-2016 01:34 PM

Gonna give it a go, too. Mockingbird is my main target.

Boy Blunder 01-30-2016 01:43 PM

Checked the closest TRU this morning, no Cap wave... though they did have plenty of SW Black figures that they normally don't (Rey, Kylo Ren, and Hux)

Interesting! I also noticed at TRU last night quite a few PHasmas (3.75 5POA brand) which surprised me because I had not seen her in the wild yet and thought she was rare. I guess they're stepping up their Star Wars game?

Kirathis 01-30-2016 02:22 PM

Checked my local TRU yesterday. No dice. I doubt I am going to see new waves there for awhile considering an employee told me last year they lump all the Legends together in their system and will not order more if they see a lot on the shelves. Right now there are a good 8 Hawkeye, 6 Wasp, 5 Sentry, 4 Superior Spidey and a couple randoms from other waves. Good luck to those looking.

It's not much cheaper than TRU, but Kapow Toys is offering the whole set for preorder at £150, plus free shipping. If you're not looking for the entire wave then TRU is the better option, but just in case you want them all! :)

All this talk of Green Goblin got me in the mood to pose some Spidey figures! Have yet to pick up the Absorbing Man wave, but soon, perhaps.

warmachine6 01-30-2016 02:49 PM

Not sure about the 3.75 line, but I know that the 6" line is getting some repacks along with the new figures.

Precisely why I picked him up, especially now that there is a half decent Rogue on the horizon. Knowing Hasbro, if we finally do get a Gambit, it will be on that awful Nick Fury buck, and I just can't do that body anymore. It was fine when it came out, but now it needs to go the way of the dodo...

The ToyBiz Gambit has some UGLY shoulder joints, but the cloth jacket more than makes up for it, as it hides they nastiness and still allows the ragin' cajun to strike a pose. It's almost as if ToyBiz knew those joints were gonna be ugly back in the day and designed it that way on purpose so the the jacket would fit better. I mean...what's a Gambit without his signature trenchcoat?

If we ever do get another Gambit, I hope Hasbro gives him some soft goods like ToyBiz used to do back in the day...

I hate..... HATEEEEEEEE the Nick Fury buck as well. Would definitely be cool to get a soft coat or at least a more flexible one.
