So...is there a variant for each wave?
There seems to be one varaint per wave...any guesses as to who will be the variant in the next two waves?

ludovicotek 10-18-2011 02:37 PM

Marvel Universe - Variants? How many?

Too damn many.

Jason Abbadon 10-18-2011 02:43 PM

Too many is never enough, man.

So..is the Sub Doom figure a variant of Doom or Steve Rogers? (I still say it's fake!)

Technically, no. Not a variant. If it's the same figure number then, and only then IMO, is it a "variant". The subscription Doom is his own figure, unrelated to the single card Doom, which in turn is unrelated to the Secret Wars Doom. Again, that's just how I view them.

Thanks for the info on the Tony Stark Iron Man figure stands. Has anyone seen these:

Pic 2 - No belt
Pic 3 - No shirt
Pic 4 - Standard

Do Boy 10-18-2011 08:01 PM

Those aren't real variants are they? Or are they just packing errors?

Shawn Woodbeck 10-18-2011 08:02 PM

To be honest, I have no idea. Saw them on ebay and snapped em up!

Sadly, no. It's real.
THe night it was first shown by anew Toyark member I swore it was fake as hell- re-used head, mismatched unoriginal card art, Infinity Gauntlet that he never had except in one crappy "What If?" story...

It's real...but real sloppy.

dbriseno 10-18-2011 08:18 PM

Dangit!!!! I thought I had them all - back to searching for sub mariner

dbriseno 10-18-2011 08:32 PM

As far as the Doom figure goes I emailed Marvel and asked how to get it:

Thank you for contacting Marvel Entertainment Inc.'s Online Support
services.

If it weren't so late I'm sure something would come to mind about no belt, no shirt, no service...

How were they sealed?
I'm leaning towards repacked because someone wanted the belt & vest.

evilanimation 10-18-2011 10:25 PM

those are fake..Hasbro has to have a point behind variants, all you got was a drunk factory worker.

evilanimation 10-18-2011 10:25 PM

guess i shouldn't use the word fake but just errors or re-packs.

They're perfectly sealed. So I don't know. They must be factory errors.

Most likely factory errors. Never seen them before now. And Hasbro has never done two variants for a single-pack MU figure before (they usually get a separate release).

Nice and vague. So only people who went to NYCC can have one for now? BS!

Shawn Woodbeck 10-20-2011 04:49 AM

I don't care what they are, they're awesome. :D
