Gah! Turbo is perfect, with his blue canopy (screw the cartoon green!)

So that means wave three will probably have Jet Robo/Blue Jet/Fitor, and Steam Robo/Loco... any word on who the other two will be? Or speculation? I'm not as familiar with the Revenge of Chronos anime, so I don't know what other designs got top visibility in that series. I'm hoping for Scooter Robo/Scooter, Gyro Robo/Cop-Tur, Porsche Robo/Crasher, and/or Limousine Robo/Stretch/Tux.

Enigma2K2 06-15-2016 07:55 AM

Turbo!!! Godf******d******YES!!!!

OriginalFire 06-15-2016 10:37 PM

For some strange reason the kibble works with these guys and I don't know why

dCon 06-19-2016 03:35 PM

Lord have mercy! Turbo looks fantastic! I'll be getting these as well the first ones are so awesome

chuckdawg1999 06-29-2016 04:53 PM

I got Eagle Robo and thus far I like it. I have one issue with some mold flash on the inside of the arm, which causes an issue with the transformation. Everything pegs in but there are some gaps in jet mode. I'll let you know what happens.

BBTS has MR-05 Mixer Robo and MR-06 Blackbird Robo up for pre-order for Q4 2016:

BigBadToyStore.com Search

It looks like MR-06 Blackbird Robo now has a mostly silver head and blue instead of yellow on the chest now based on the pics.

Machine Robo Prototypes at TFcon Chicago 2016 - The Toyark - News

Blue Jet/Fitor looks incredible, and LOCO! Loco was probably one of my most well-loved figures as a kid.

Also Blaster is there, so hey.

I can't say that I recognize Tough Trailer, Pro Truck Racer, or the Double Robo. I assume these were toys that weren't a part of the GoBots releases of the Machine Robo line?

Yay Loco! I wish I had him as kid, but darn it I was born in the late 90's when all the cool toys start to disappear-_-. I really like him, but I dislike that he's missing his front train hat:/. I hope they will make Tux soon as well. I wish Gobots whould have survived the 80's and continue to be a great playline as it was. How come Bandai doesn't try to revive the line and releasing repro toys for collectors:(?! Oh, well, at least we have this new line^^.

They were never released in the USA I believe.

Tough Trailer:

Protruck Racer:

The Double Robo is Jettranser:

I am loving this line and will be buying them all.

Boy Blunder 10-24-2016 03:48 PM

^ Thanks for the info. Since I'm more attached to the GoBots characters than the toys themselves, I can probably avoid those three without feeling guilty.

Jettranser looks like he would have made a great addition to the Dread Launchers that were in the GoBots line, though.

Bladewing2 10-24-2016 04:11 PM

Am I the only one hoping we get updated versions of Puzzler and Monstrous out of this?

Robogeek28 10-24-2016 06:24 PM

I'm glad to see more stuff since the initial prototype pics first came out. It looks like this line will last longer than I thought as long as they keep selling.

drgatz 10-24-2016 09:28 PM

Not super familiar with the differences between Gobots and Machine Robo. Do you think there's a chance Pathfinder will get released in this line?

.......weirdly, Block Head/Cement Robo's knives suddenly bumped my opinion of him by a lot. Especially since they form his smokestacks in vehicle mode.

Ugh, I don't want to want him...

If the Machine Robo version of Pathfinder appeared in the Revenge of Chronos cartoon, then yes there's a chance the figure could be in the line. Action Toys can ONLY make figures of characters that appeared in Revenge of Chronos.

soundwavempl 10-27-2016 05:49 AM

And unfortunately, Pathfinder did not appear in the Revenge of Cronos anime, so chances of that figure getting made are not looking good.

Is there a source on that, that Action Toys can only make the characters that appeared in the Revenge of Cronos anime? I'm not meaning to say you're lying, I just want confirmation so I can stop lying to myself about what might get made :o

soundwavempl 10-27-2016 10:44 AM

Here is the source:

Masterforce UK: Action Toys' Spencer Talks Machine Robo, Gobots and More

Quote:

Q: There's been universal praise for how close these look to the anime characters, how important was it to capture the exact look of the characters rather than stylising them?

A: Again, in this business, a lot of the time license is everything. As the license here is for the anime, it was pretty important to stay close to the anime. Everything has to be approved by Production Reed before release so it needs to remain fairly faithful.

Ahhh... yeah, I see. I'm operating off of the older information, which he brings up.

Quote:

This comes directly from the license itself. The license is for the Machine Robo Revenge of Chronos Anime. As the anime is based off the original toy line, as is Gobots, you will find a certain amount of crossover. These figures are being done specific under the Anime license at this time. I did mention a while back on a TFW thread that they were based off the toy license but unfortunately I was miss-informed at that time. Since then I have dived deeper into the actual license and can assure you, it is for the anime and not for the toys.
I am, however, hopeful, with another part of that quote above: "These figures are being done specific under the Anime license at this time." Hopefully, that might mean that good sales would allow them to expand to non-anime figures based on other toys, assumedly done in the same aesthetic/engineering style of the anime figures.

Also, the dodgy not-answer here gives me some hope as well:

Quote:

The big question everyone seems to be asking is about Porsche robo. As the Machine Robo version was white, if it is produced, will there be a black version to keep Crasher fans happy?

Porsche Porsche Porsche………….hmmmmmmmm.
I mean, the fact that they're even going back and doing some of these characters is friggin' mind-blowing for me (I love TFs, but I grew up on GoBots, and those toys will always have a special place in my heart), so I won't complain all that much about their character choices.

Anyway, thanks for the link there, clears up a lot.

The licensing and rights for Machine Robo/Go-Bots is so convoluted and confusing, it's not even funny.

Not especially. Machine Robo (including toys and likenesses) are still owned by Bandai, while Gobots (character names, bios, and storylines) are owned by Hasbro. Which I assume means that Hasbro can't reissue any old GoBots toys, nor make any new toys that look explicitly like the old toys (hence why most GoBot homage figures are repaints, and sometimes have some deco overhauls - according to deco artist Joe Kyde, part of what got Fracture/Crasher released was finding an actual F-1 race car with a black/white/red color scheme).

Likewise, I'd take this to mean that any Machine Robo figures can only be released as Machine Robo figures, and not branded as GoBots.

So not all that confusing or convoluted.

Nope, there's more from what I understand. Bandai cannot release Machine Robo toys in the US, not because of Go-Bots, but because the Universe Ratchet toy from the early 2000s is tampoed Machine Robo Rescue. Also, I heard there's an issue with Bandai reissuing the older Machine Robo toys as well. To put it simply, there're questions as to who owns what beyond what we've discussed.

That was Machine Robot Rescue, and that was a failed attempt to block Bandai from specifically releasing the 'Machine Robo Rescue' line. I say failed because Bandai didn't even try to bring them over in the first place, so ultimately that idea never went anywhere and Hasbro dropped it.

(Also, it was printed on the cards, not on the toys themselves)

I can't find any information one way or the other with the reissuing, though if the molds are lost/deteriorated, I can see that being a factor.

Either way, those are really small when compared to the major points from earlier, and don't have a lot of impact on how 'complicated' the rights may or may not be.
