Yikes! Can't say that I'm a fan of anything that figure's got going on. He'd look a lot better if they'd have put some effort into hiding those joints a little bit. As it stands he kinda looks... He-Man-esque?
Yep, that one successful action figure line Mattel. Except for He-Man (which was original to Mattel and made to be ugly in the first place) and the new decent Halo line, Mattel really sucks and being lazy at making action figures. There will always be a girls toy company in the first place (which is not bad for itself).

SpasticPlastic 09-08-2016 01:25 PM

Wowzer. I was tempted from the previous pics circulating because I love Thundercats (even though I hate Mattel), but I'm glad I passed. That looks entirely too much like cheap plastic.

Yeah, that's the other thing - it just looks cheap as hell. This is a running thing with Mattel; they can't seem to make their products worth the price asked. Even their absurdly overpriced Voltron combiner was, like, 95% unpainted cheap looking plastic. Blech.

And don't get me started on their dumb phony subscription models that are made to take advantage of collectors. I feel genuinely bad for people who love IPs that Mattel has the exclusive rights to. Basically fuck Mattel.

deecee4 09-09-2016 04:07 AM

His disproportionally short legs make him look really squat. I noticed that before but i thought it might've just been the photo distorting things. Theres an old super friends episode when some of them get turned into stubby troll versions of themselves. Thats exactly what this reminds me of, unfortnately.
But, I am still holding out hope that it isn't as noticeable in person.

I completely agree with you, the problem is that the (playline) toy market became so narrow and ruled by the giants, Mattel and Hasbro. The only toy line from Mattel that I'm looking forward to is the upcoming She-Ra action dolls. I really hope it won't be stupid subscription bullshit and that it would be sold through Amazon.

Why do you say that? He's on sale 9/15 in an "All Access" on matty's site.

What I don't get is, I think they told me I am not eligible for "Early Access" since I chose "one shipment" subscriptions which ships in Dec., so they're saying technically my subscription doesn't start until Dec. How does that make a bit of sense? If I have a subscriptions then I have a subscription, the end. So what mine all ship in Dec, I can't get early access to a Lion-O this month for a friend? That's ridiculous.

RolandofGilead 09-12-2016 03:32 PM

They said the same thing when I wanted to order the T-Kittens. Then Matty changed their minds and opened up to T-Cat sub members. It will be ridiculous if they don't do the same thing here.

Threat 09-15-2016 11:55 AM

Lion-O sold out. Surprised no one mentioning anything. Was anyone here able to get one?

Nope, site decided to randomly reject my bank details having worked fine before.

Also that anti-spam thing you have to do is ridiculous, it kept on giving me German street names, strangely enough I don't know off the top of my head how to get a double s thing that looks like a 'b' (as in Strasse).

RolandofGilead 09-15-2016 02:13 PM

So if I joined the sub with one bulk delivery, how do I know my figure came through? I haven't received any kind of email or notification.

From my understanding you won't know until after Dec 15th.

Lufaverde 09-15-2016 03:46 PM

The exact same thing that happened to Primacron happened to me, I was on mattycollector at 11am (central) sharp and still wasn't able to nab one... As other people have suggested their site is rigged in some manner, oh well I guess, my money will just go elsewhere!

suchaname 09-16-2016 05:19 AM

Honestly, I'd sooner give my money to a scalper than directly to Mattel at this point.

Joe Moore 09-16-2016 05:30 AM

I wonder if anyone else will really give Thundercats an honest push after this mess with MattyCollector. I know Mezco mentioned the possibility of One:12 Collective Thundercats in the future, and I hope they give it an honest shot.

Lufaverde 09-16-2016 06:32 AM

I agree with you Joe, Thundercats is such a fond part of my childhood that I would love to have a decent and full current reprentation of them in my collection but sadly at this point I believe that's only a pipe dream! =\

RolandofGilead 09-16-2016 10:57 AM

I contacted Matty and they said the order was declined and the sub cancelled. I was never informed, there was money on my prepaid card, it's Digital River issues all over again!

Wow, just wow. Then again, that is just what one guy said. For all you know, you cold call the up, talk to someone else, and get a different answer.

And of course it's Digital River's issues, it's still Digital River, there is no surprise there.

Dr Kain 01-07-2017 11:40 AM

Another user on one of the Facebook pages I'm part of just posted this. I can't say I'm shocked given Mattel doesn't give a damn about customer loyalty, but it's utter bullshit to have the option and then say, "Oops, we forgot."

Thank you for your patience while we looked into this issue.
Unfortunately, we have no available inventory for the items included in
your order. We apologize for this. As a result, we had to process a
cancellation.

The order being 'in process' implied that our warehouse was working to
acquire the items in your order. Unfortunately, they were unable to do
this. Please reply back to this email if you have any additional
questions.
