Why does it seem like every time WB reboots Batman, it looks less and less like a comic book?
|
Come on guys, stop bashing at McFarlane on this one!
I understand that sometimes they can cut corners but I still think they are an upper class to marvel legends which in my opinion are just cheap looking kids toys. I know we are never going to know what they actually cost to make but tbf at least they are making figures off the movies unlike what DC Collectibles/Direct barely did. McFarlane's Multiverse line is a huge step up from the original Mattel line IMO as they always felt like a cheaper version of the DC Collectibles line. Keep em coming Todd!! |
This is , officially, THE WORSE figure in the McFarlane DC Multiverse line.
Ironically, just for that should have a place in my collection but just with a HIGH discount. |

Mattel may have messed up a lot of aspects, and their figures are horribly outdated, but at least they gave us classic designs. BTW, Marvel Legends runs circles around DC Multiverse. |

This figure looks better at different angles. Cool that he can ride on a motorcycle.

Also, not all "classic" looks are desirable. I have zero interest in disco or mullet Nightwing. |
At least that motorcycle looks cool enough to get and use for other figures.
Hobo Bruce looks like he really should be Hobo Dick, though. |
Wow, I assumed that this was going to be a set. The figure is going to peg warm so hard lol.
|
By the way, Drifter and Drifter Unmasked (Target Exclusive) are two separate figures.

If WB is so worried about guns, why would they continue to make crime movies and even give Batman guns in the movies? |

Meanwhile, people on the Internet have reported seeing as many as 36 King Shazam figures sitting on shelves inside Target or Walmart stores. Quote:

I'd maybe buy it for the bike, but I'd bin the figure.
|
The only way I'd consider getting the bike is if the motorcycle helmet was hollow and could be put on other figures.

One man's evil doesn't make you good. The line in general has a lot going for it. But when they can't keep up a standard consistency in their line or match the competition, then they get respectfully bashed. They are putting out a product to sell. Customizers can do whatever they want. Something being sold to the masses is a different story. You put out a subpar product, you put out a subpar product. You use anticonsumer tactics, you are using anticonsumer tactics. Mcfarlane can just do better. ------------------ As to the ban on guns with DC toys. No the WB has not put out a statement. But for some reason everyone who has a DC toy license isn't adding guns. I think it was a Mafex employee who did say the WB told them to nix the guns from one of the figures. It was either a twitter or IG post. It's not like Mcfarlane has a no gun policy when the recent Spawn figures seem over equipped with firearm(and not laser guns). ---------- As to Batman realism. At this point Batman and dipped into various genres. Clearly gritty crime drama has won out. I would love if they dipped into Magic or Sci Fi with Batman. But I figure the idea there is that's why you have Supergirl and Wonder Woman for that. ------- I still think the head sculpt for this Bruce figure looks very weak. Part of it is the hair. I don't know why the sculpt the hair like it's made of heavy clay. Also how awesome would it be if this figure had a great ab crunch, so he could actually ride the bike like a normal person? I appreciate the seamless look but until they get a very thin, strong, flexible plastic, split the part up so their can be articulation. |
I just cant get past the side eyed looks. I get it on 1 or 2 releases, but im seeing it on way to many Mcfarlane toys. It totally ruins it for most figures...

Actually may work as decent generic thug bases. |

Not the best figure in the world, but it gives me a lot of Year One vibes and that's a good thing.

Another issue is how bad some of the figures are proportionately. Like my stores have a Flash figure that looks like he is Bane wearing a Flash costume due to how large his muscles are. Flash is not supposed to look like he is 400 pounds of muscle. Quote:
Other pegwarmers include Batgirl, the first Joker they did, helmetless Shriek, helmetless Peacemaker, Hawk Girl Wonder Woman cosplay, Wonder Woman 84, Blight, a really grundgy looking Superman, and JLU Flash. Quote:
