Awwww yeah. With bearded Aquaman and now Kyle here we're two steps closer to my idealized 1990s DC toyline. :D

Kyle Rainer GL
Anyone else picking up a Frank Quitely vibe on Kyle’s face sculpt?

Also there's an old fan-trailer of him being a live action Hal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hTiRnqnvDs |

If the size bothers people too much, they might as well complain about hottoys/sideshow collectibles for their 1/6 figures. Quote:

McFarlane figures are so wack, but this Green Lantern looks nice.
|
Hopefully we get a second wave. Really need Black Hand and Nekron, and Terra'd be kinda cool, too.
|
Kyle Rayner is my favorite Green Lantern and I've been waiting for a reason to finally purchase a DC McFarlane figure. But I think I'm still going to hold off.
I know this is a Blackest Night wave, but I really want a figure of him in his OG costume. I need the white front and green gauntlets. |

Also I would buy a repaint of Kyle in his original outfit even faster than I plan on getting this version! |
Hope we get kyle as ion….in his first ion suit.

And besides, his Steve Trevor wasn't a million miles away from his Hal. Steve is basically a Hal who never became a GL. :P |
Personally if they did a live action Kyle Rayner. I think it would be best to lean more into him being Mexican/South American. Same if Spider-man 2099 made it to live action.
6inch scale - Honestly that's all Hasbro with their Marvel Legends line. That's the only reason anyone thinks these figures are too big despite most other companies playing in a larger scale. Even Hasbro plays in a slightly smaller scale with Star Wars and Power Rangers(rangers only). I think 7 inch is actually better with giving more room for detail, but nobody touches Hasbro as this price for articulation(of course Bandai SHF/Mafex play in the same ballpark at the same scale, but much more expensive, which isn't really due to articulation). But back to the Kyle figure. It looks great. But I feel there is always a glaring flaw with Mcfarlane figures that would have been solved in concept. It's either going to be the neck of the torso will be too solid. |

Also YET ANOTHER cool looking story I need to read asap :-D Thanks I always like to learn about new DC stories I have yet to read |
pfft AGREEEEED! I hope that if he hasn't been governing the company until now or recently - I hope he starts to, because we all know Todd knows how to create awesome stuff. It would be awesome if he had the time and energy to fully take the helm of the Figure ideas, design and dispersal - IDK if he has that much time. But if not hopefully he starts to take a larger part in it at least. Because I have a feeling that He has either been being held back by WB/DC OR that as you said he has other groups that rule over that position. I think Todd would do much better

NOW with that being said, you are SO DEAD ON! A Mega figure of Nekron would be the way to go! It seems possible as well. After all that is what they did with the Zack S. Justice League Villain's is it not?? They make Darkseid and Steppenwolf Mega figures, and they sold well, to the best of my knowledge. So Hopefully that is the route they go. After all I am not hating on Nekron when I say I want Atrocitus. I think they would both make good figures by McFarlane. I just think the logical, and sensible choice would be Atrocitus IN THIS WAVE as a BAF. NOT Nekron. It is a sensible choice businesswise after all. |

Well Kyle has had a Latino heritage for over a decade now. So I think they can still lean into that even if he was intended/drawn to have a bit more diversity then Hal Jordan.
Is it really going to hurt if Kyle with his gigantic GL mask isn't totally Caucasian? I don't think so. Like we still got Guy(the best Green Lantern......you all know it to be true) and Alan(He's no Jay Garrick but he has his moments). At least these guys didn't blame a space bug for them going supervillain. They owned up to their mistakes. |
