Maaaan this is sad. We could have finally gotten a proper Snake-Woman, instead we get a Star Trek Orion lady with optional snake tail? All the Snake-Men are reptilian, even the human-like appearance of King Hisss is just a disguise. Why would their queen look basically human? They should have given her a snake head and scaly torso too.
And that whole retcon just makes no sense and also makes King Hisss look like a simp... So what, the Snake-Men came from some planet? They are alien invaders? Pretty sure that is the Evil Horde's deal. Also pretty sure King Hisss has been their ruler even in ancient times when he fought King Grayskull, not this lady. At any rate, hashtag NotMySnakeMen. ;) |

Where's the Slime Pit? |
Voted for the Fight Zone and Snake Lair.

I personally love this Lady Slither--the box, the outer box... all of it looks fantastic to my eyes at least, instant purchase!!
|
Oh man. Not one of the 5 items are bad. Is there a “I want all button”? I’m going for the doom tower and the tank.
|
Attack Track and Horde Tank. That Horde Tank is fantastic.
|
@BB Shockwave:
In the Filmation He-Man cartoon there was also a human Snake Clan who existed in Eternia's past. Their leader, Zilora, was one of the inspirations for Lady Slither. |
Fright zone!

Attack Trak for me. Filmation Attack Trak is a holy grail of mine. I realized after voting that they did not specify Origins or Masterverse. (edit) Should have realized it was for Origins. They haven't bothered even doing a Castle Grayskull for Masterverse. Granted that would likely just be a re-issue of the Classics. I hope it can still accommodate 7 inch figures. I would likely use if for my Filmation Classics figures. Attack Trak.

Lady Slither lasted an hour, longer than your moth...er... Yeah, not sure why she was more popular than Fangor (who took a few hours to sellout, IIRC), or if they made less of her.
|
Yay awesome soldout, had to work I just missed out on ladt slither,
I hate exclusives so much |

I hate exclusives like this, too. Make it to order, screw it, I'll wait 10 months if everyone can get theirs. But these companies love Fear of Missing Out. Also, it probably means that lazy effort figures like He-Skeletor wouldn't get that many orders. |
Cool! I need to get her... sold out. :(

The Stranger Things mashup is stupid and undesirable. It's a wasted slot that could have been used for an another actual MOTU character we'd want. Also... who is Necro-Conda?? Google turned up no results, so is this another new made up character? If so, again a slot that should have been used for another existing MOTU character to keep working towards finishing the vintage line. With this line becoming a Mattel Creations exclusive now and no longer going to retail, I expect the number of figures coming out will be greatly reduced from now on. So it's frustrating when Mattel is doing gimmicky stuff like Stranger Things mashups instead of finishing the vintage line like they supposedly promised they'd do. :(
|
I hear you on finishing the vintage run….but damn….I really like that stranger things set.
|
Cool that Origins is getting to the 'spare parts brigade' characters.
I think Necro-Conda looks cool. MOTU needs more necromancers. However, I just do MV, so would be happy to see some of those characters get MV interpretations. I would actually buy an MV Demogorgon. Demogorgons are scary, roid raging Demogorgons even scarier. |

The main thing that bothers me is that the Origins figures that I'm most interested in are Walmart exclusives- they are the absolute worst retailer to give exclusives to, and I say this as a collector of several different toy lines. Other than that, some cool reveals, even if none of them blow my mind. I dig the Demogorgon, but I wish they weren't in a 2-pack, because it would be cool to have more than one. Hopefully they'll do something cool with accessories to make the Skeletor more unique. I'm hoping this set does well, so we at least get a Vecna, and maybe a super-buff Paul Reiser figure (though that one is... less certain).

Instead of 20 minute sell outs at Creations, we'll have stock that never appears in my area until years after I stopped caring, if even then.
Just wait till clearance on the Target set, though. I don't care about Starnger Things or a recolored Skeletor. It is an army builder set, because as many Skeletors as they've made every completist has an army of 'em. Not sure I get the reissues, they can do that but now new origins toy style in mass retail? Poplar characters, folks'd say. |

MAN! They got me with 4 of these new figures. New Eternia Trap Jaw, New Eternia Tri-Klops, New Eternia Man-At-Arms and Revolution Battle Armor He-Man. Here's why (if y'all even care. But I'm excited lol)
1. Trap Jaw is fantastic. Claw attachment has a piece that can be used as an alt grey mandible like the mini-comics 2. Tri-Klops comes with TWO Eye Rings. One is more classic 3. Man-At-Arms has 2 portraits and 2 different removable helmets! New armor is awesome! 3. Revolution Battle Armor He-Man includes a newly resculpted harness AND Battle Armor breast plate. Love new axe. This wave is a big surprise. I knew I wanted Trap Jaw but didn't expect all the extra, and very useful, accessories with the others. Quote:

I like the new He-Man head sculpt, at least relative to the very first Masterverse release. I'll pick that up and see how it feels in hand. My only gripe with these as a casual pop-in/out guy with the line has been smaller than "feels right" heads. That at least looks like it's more correct.
No science on my end about the head sizes, just my initial reaction whenever I handle them. Early ones anyway. Couple since then, on the fence. Otherwise, checklist wise, these figures have all the modern articulation execution you'd want from an adulty figure in the 202xs. Functional, current-best visually pleasing, and easy to utilize. |

I'm a casual "pop-in" collector too. I was surprised at the well thought out accessories included in these new offerings. I've liked figures here and there. But, the design team seems to hit their stride with this new Masterverse wave. Especially the New Eternia stuff. I do not remember a wave being what I would call "strong" before this. Now...if they could just sculpt a Teela portrait that wasn't dog ass ugly they'd be in biz. |
