Yes, I do.

What's the difference? This is the second "Get This Super7 Crap Out Of Our Warehouse" sale BBTS has had in six-seven months and, more importantly, no one pretends Hasbro's doing fine. Mattel is doing okay, the stuff on clearance at BBTS is nothing shocking.

Also, big difference between putting rotting Eternals and Mando figures on clearance and discounting year-old Ultimates. There's also sales for ReAction figures that are still on preorder. Sixty percent off four Roger Rabbit ReActions that haven't even been released yet, and that's just one example.

But you already knew this stuff because, you know, clearly you're the smart one here.

Especially one that does so frequently.

I rescind my earlier sarcasm.

Again, huge difference between a clearance on OVERSATURATED AND UNPOPULAR ITEMS/PROPERTIES FROM YEARS AGO and CONSTANT FIRESALES ON RELATIVELY NEW AND PREORDER (!) PRODUCTS.

And it's not just "an online retailer having a sale":

-The QC issues.

-The cancelled waves.

-The endless repaints.

-The failed crowdfunder.

-Poor license selection.

-In some cases poor character selection ***COUGH***Simpsons***COUGH***.

-The ABSOLUTE REFUSAL to accept that they have priced themselves out of the market.

-Super7 having constant sales on their OWN SITE.

-Someone like Comedian who's very concerned that he gave $800 to a failing business (you may dismiss that an anecdotal but it's only because most people don't have the balls to admit they might have made a mistake).

Do you even read this thread or did you just come in to say "Hasblo" and move on?

This. Company. Sucks. Give them money at your own risk.

Of course, despite not posting there for months, this got me banned from Hiss Tank. Jeffrozup, I'm sorry your testosterone level is at "Dylan Mulvaney" but there are treatments and you should seek help instead of taking it out on anonymous forum members.

This is a huge problem...that started in 2022. They never adjusted. And you didn't have to be an economist to see this, it was clear as day.

There's a joker over at Hiss Tank that said the following:

-GI Joe Ultimates would end GI Joe Classified.

-He was only collecting a few essential characters and was projecting it would take about 10 waves to get what he wanted.

Neither of these things is going to happen.

I prefer the Playmates designs over the 1987 cartoon but Super7 just cannot be trusted. If you can get your hand on the four Super7 Turtles I would recommend those but nothing beyond that.

...Yeah, I think it's very clear at this point that you just have a personal vendetta against this company for some reason and have thus fallen hard for the false cause fallacy.

Half of those complaints are entirely subjective( poor license choice, poor character selection, price) the other half are issues affecting the toy industry at large(QC issues, cancellations, discounts to clear overstock) so it's weird to use them as indicative of Super 7's health as a company.

It seems that some of their best selling things are music figures, which attracts a consumer outside of the typical figure line. So Beastie Boys fans might be willing to drop $55 since there is no other option and those customers may not be bothered by things like limited articulation or quality control (since they will probably stay boxed).

But you can't really point at the failure of the Cobra Mothership as a knock against S7. Hasbro also has had a couple of failed crowdfunding campaigns (Cookie Monster, Rancor, Engine of Vengeance). I think that the failure of the crowdfunded Cobra Mothership came down to general apathy towards Super 7s retro Joe line. I (and some other Joe collectors that I know) feel like why should I pay for G.I. Joes figures that are aping a style of figure that was inferior to the original RAH line?

Same thing for their Thundercats and Turtles lines really.

But apparently the GI Joe Ultimates line is doing well enough according to Brian Flynn

Yeah and that's the last Joe wave didn't meet their preorder quotas.

I get why the the Thundercats and Silverhawks lines do well, they are the only options for fans for those franchises. But there is a ridiculous number TMNT lines out there, and the only Super 7 has going got the ultimates is the same thing from the 80s but bigger and with slightly better articulation (that is still below what is standard for modern collector lines). TMNT fans have many other options.

I mean they were all just redecos of still widely available figures so * shrugs *.

Not really, if you want 6-7 inch collector Turtle figs Neca and Super 7 are really your only options and both have similar price points, articulation and qc while covering entirely different styles.

Neca does the original cartoon, movies and comics.

Super 7 with the announcement of 2k3 Turtles seems to have everything else.

So is super 7 now a bbts only company like storm?

No, they're not. Every so often, Super7 does BBTS-only exclusives...invisible Tyra and GITD mumm-ra come to mind and I think some for turtles as well.

ghostbogey 05-02-2024 03:15 PM

Dark Bird???...
Ok...
I guess ;^)

In an interview with the Robo Don't Know YouTube page, Brian Flynn told Veebs that the 2003 TMNT Ultimates would have double jointed knees and elbows because the kids that grew up with those figures would expect them. That's ignoring the fact that the original 2003 turtles didn't have double joints, and they could have been including them on lines that could of used them, like MMPR and the Bruce Lee line.

Granted based on what I am hearing about the QC problems on Devil Flanders maybe S7 figures having less joints is a good thing.

I took that as kids from that time period were accustomed to ultra articulation from that point on and not necessarily those 2003 turtles figures themselves. I could be mistaken with that take but that's what it seemed to me.
Also funny to note that double jointed ultimates 2003 turtles was specifically mentioned in that reddit post that Brian dismissed as not true lol.

flansered 05-07-2024 06:10 AM

Part of me thinks that he was the one that was opposed to the extra joints and got overruled.

deecee4 05-08-2024 04:05 AM

That scenario seems very likely. He definitely favors aesthetics over articulation.

Super Shogun Metallic Mechagodzilla by Super7

Dolemite 05-30-2024 06:52 AM

Neat, but $400 is INSANE. Reaction to Mechagodzilla on Facebook is pretty universal on this point.

Super7 overcharging on things like this is what killed the Cobra mothership project.

ghostbogey 05-30-2024 08:24 AM

Jumbo Mecha-G!!!....
Real sweeeeet

I remember when...
Jumbo Machiner Boba Fett
and other Jumbo's (funko/S7)

When they came out.....
The original price was around...
$300 to $350

Me can see $400 (395) for...
that Jumbo Mecha-G...

cost is the cost...
"Que Sera, Sera", I guess ;^)

Me liked....
the Newer Big Bullmark...
Mecha-G2 toy with "pointy"...
firing missile fingers ;^)

dukefett 05-30-2024 09:00 AM

That looks incredible. Good time to be a Mechagodzilla fan with the Chogokin too.

https://awesomecollector.com/collect...tallic-version

Awesome Collector has it for $369 shipped in US and no sales tax; not a huge break but a deal.

TheBlueMarvel 05-30-2024 09:46 AM

This is beautiful.

deecee4 06-02-2024 07:55 AM

Has anyone seen any quick in-hand looks at toy deco buzzsaw on social media? I have him in my pile of loot and really curious about the Kenner toy-style head...that might end up being a dealbreaker for me if it doesn't lower and/or look right.
