Origins Sy-Klone is finally coming either late today or this weekend anyway.
Never had the original Sy Klone back in the day then I was a little kid. Masters of the Universe toy series Back then was fading away in the mid 1980s pretty much where all you would see would be Slime Pits all the time or Battle Bones or something |
Necro-Conda, maybe an army builder. Definitely a head-ache. Another Walmart exclusive.

Good luck to those who want Necroconda - sick looking figure! Might as well not exist though lol.
What attracted me to origins was they were easy to get inexpensive versions of the 80s originals which are insane prices.well it seems same situation with some of the line now .Hard to get and expensive if you miss an exclusive in particular. Ive only had issues with exclusives from mattels and walmarts website. now missing out so many there no reason to be completionist anymore and its actually such a relief just to not bother . |
well with the Mattel Creations website, its like you have to be on the website all day every minute or whatever and as soon as a new exclusive comes like Sy Klone or any figure you have to pre order it right away before a bunch of people do.
Most of the time , I think the Mattel Creations website is catered more for the damn scalpers/hoarders than casual people. I'm lucky to even get a preorder of Sy Klone at the right now weeks ago last month anyway. I never had the original SyKlone figure back then in the 1980s when I was a kid. Master of the Universe it was pretty much fading away, that or all you ever saw were Battle Bones, King Randor or nothing. its a damn shame that Rokkon all of a sudden became sold out the day it was added on Mattel creations. its like bunch of scalpers/hoarders were just on the website that day or something Quote:

also Terroar completely sold out on Walmart online. I'm like, who the hell would really want that awful looking piece of crap? its like Mattel's bad attempt at custom figure making where they put a Webstor head onto a snake man neck and attached to a Trap Jaw body and they called it Terroar a

Origins Sy-Clone showed up the other day, i had the original Sy-Clone as a kid, and the original Moss Man and Stinkor.

I never had the original figure back in the day since Masters of the Universe toyline was pretty much fading away.
what was the backstory on Syklone anyway? was he like some tornado cosmic warrior traveling the galaxy like Rokkon and Stonedar and Zodak or what? Quote:

I pretty much shop MOTU exclusive from BBTS and random Australian stores... I haven't seen hip pop up anywhere? |
I preordered it on Mattel Creations when it was available right away a few weeks ago before it was sold out instantly the same day.
Mattel Creations website is crazy when Masters of the Universe figures are concerned. I missed out on Rokkon. Origins Rokkon figures are crazy on eBay now. damn scalpers hoarders I hate them Quote:

anyone get lucky earlier today by buying Origins Extendar on Mattel Creations?
11:00 a.m to the whole hour of 12 pm was your only chance to get it. As of right now its sold out as usual like with Rokkon. |

Extendar just got sold out earlier today. Best time to even get the damn figure was during 11 a.m and 12 pm. I swear that site is more catered for the frikkin scalpers/hoarders where they're just gonna jack up the price on eBay. |
An hour to pick up something online is an eternity these days. If you missed out...I'm not sure what to tell ya.

well you are wrong. It was available right at 11 a.m and even was still available during 12 p.m while it was available. then later on after that it got sold out.
Like I said, you have to be on that site right on time exactly at those hours to even try to buy a Masters of the Universe Origins exclusive figure from that friggin site before it gets sold out instantly. I really do wish Mattle would create more figures of Rokkon and Extendar and have enough figures of those characters for people that actually want/need them. I am getting tired of the scalpers/hoarders getting really grabby by snatching more than just one figure screwing other people over Quote:

If Mattel created an infinite number of Extendars so that "anyone" could grab one for an indefinite period of time, they'd be on deep discount and shelf-warming like Jitsu, Sorceress, and Buzz-Off have been this last year or two (and they're all way more popular characters). |

Mattel went this route because the major retailers wanted major characters. And Mattel wanted brick and mortar to keep buying Origins. I mean, do we think Slamurai, Snake Trooper and the Rulers of the Sun are more well known/popular than Rokkon and Extendar? No, but they got mass releases. The shift to Cartoon Collection pushed unmade characters to online only. Though, I fail to see how a case can have a reissue Zodac (a guy who is really not a major character) and not a Rokkon...but whatever.
But this again about a series partially kept popular by artificial scarcity, too. That doom case of Sorceress, Stratos, Jitsu and Buzz-Off...could've been any other case, maybe. Early on wave 1 He-Man and Skeletor were everywhere in the USA. I almost decided to skip the series because I didn't think it would amount to anything if that's all that shipped to stores. |

I should clarify. I don't disagree with the fact that retailers primarily want popular characters and that Mattel wants to sell a variety of characters. Whether Mattel can sell them successfully at the rate that selling at retail stores requires is the issue. Quote:

MOTU isn't like evergreen properties such as Transformers or Star Wars. It can't consistently move product at the level of those other franchises. I'm surprised that Mattel didn't go back to the DTC approach sooner. |
