I've noticed this as well in the past and wonder what the product/marketing folks at Hasbro are thinking. I believe they probably realize since they lack stands for the majority of MU figs (sadly including current production +2 packs), aesthetically, clean/consistency is definitely preferred - it would look really bad on their end and unprofessional if only a few figs had stands while other figs had the *nicer* round/oval clear bases....

So, hey Hasbro, start including fig stands (preferably generic, oval-clear :) ) in ALL MU products for Pete's sake!

There are plenty of characters to choose from before we need another Iron Man or Spiderman. I like Wolverine as much as the next guy, but I don't need 20 different versions. Lets get some other figures out there before resorting to different costumes of already released characters.

I keep seeing the Punisher v 2 with black gloves, but keep passing on him to wait for this new punisher.

I own the white gloved variant and thats the definitive punisher to me. If the new one has the white gloves and boots thatll be the instant buy for me.

Psylocke Desperately needs a 3 pack.. Like a Psylocke Evolution pack or something. I mean we have 3 Captain Britains.. Lets get 3 of his sister also. Something along these lines.

Boba Fettuccini 09-03-2011 10:59 PM

Evolution? Her boobs and hips get progressively smaller.

joemama13 09-04-2011 06:43 AM

Yeah iron fist!

CLASSIFIED 09-04-2011 07:24 AM

This is the wave I am least looking forward to.

I normally pre order waves as they are listed on BBTS, but didn't even bother with this one.

quinten182 09-06-2011 06:59 AM

How can you pass on this one? I canceled all my other wave preorders because there is only a couple people I even want in them, but this one is loaded!

Exodus 10-10-2011 02:36 PM

Sweet

Def. Psylocke, you think they'll be an X-Force Variant like they did with Warpath? That would be wicked! Storm and Daredevil as well are must haves for me.

X-Force warpath isn't a variant. The X-Men warpath is. But a variant is possible.

The first Warpath was carded and had silver paint, the first variant was the red and blue (best) version and the X-Force box set is the second variant.

He's trying to atch up to Ms. Marvel and Wolverine for number of variants!
(good luck, pal)

Exodus 10-10-2011 03:28 PM

Thanks guys for the heads up, forgot that X-Force Warparth was original, which is great. I have all the X-Force MU figures so far. (Until a new one comes out) So hoping Psylocke will be next. Fantomex would be awesome too.

Yeah here's hoping for a X-Force variant for Psylocke.

Jason Abbadon 10-10-2011 03:35 PM

I'm hoping for a Betsy as Captain Britan variant!
Obviously someone at MU has a Captain Britan fetish, so dont be suprised!

You know what, that actually is a better variant. Probably unlikely, but still better.

Jason Abbadon 10-10-2011 03:43 PM

Why unlikely? It's just a repaint and headswap...as likely as "Classic Ms. Marvel"- nad they made that scarf part for her!
It could happen...though her time as Captain Britan was brief and she got her eyes ripped out by Slaymaster.

Poor Betsy!

Do Boy 10-10-2011 04:06 PM

Is there a reasoning for the way they pick figures and costumes? Or is it all just random pickings.

Unlikely because an X-Force variant would be a lot cheaper to make and it's a higher fan demanded outfit than the Captain Britain one.

They probably listen to what the fans have to say, and go with the majority of fan demanded figures (2 or 3 figures or something) and randomly pick the rest of the wave. God knows Ultimate Magneto was not fan demanded (though I love the fact we got one), so it has to be random. Unless there's some sort of reasoning behind their madness.

Jason Abbadon 10-10-2011 04:20 PM

I think it's the marketing people being told "the sculptors say this character is popular".
Someone is literally making their dream collection.

vampireheart 10-10-2011 04:34 PM

You also have to take into account the molds that are accessible to them, or if they have to retool things, one of the reasons there are so many iron mans, spider mans and wolverines is to offset that cost. Costume color though, who knows probably just whateveris gonna appeal to children as well as collectors

Boba Fettuccini 10-10-2011 04:46 PM

Dartboard with a list of characters on it.

bmorr 10-10-2011 05:04 PM

on who decides the figures, my theory was that the hasbro marketing department asked the higher ups at marvel whos popular and went from there.

Fortune 10-10-2011 05:18 PM

Psylocke is always a win if you ask me :)

Shin Densetsu 10-10-2011 05:37 PM

Damn , this wave is full of repaints and retools like the current wave. If only Psylocke and Storm used the new female buck...
