Very lame answers this time around.
|
Weak, I feel like those answers weren't even worth giving.
|
Will the Powers of Pain (Warlord and Barbarian) show up in WWE Legends?
|
What I got from that is that if we want good 1:18/4" DC Universe figures we are going to have to keep customizing them ourselves.

It's not just you.
I'm pretty sure they're getting pissed that they keep getting asked for better 3 and 4 inch figures. |
Translation of Mattel answers:
1)"Screw you and your dreams of 4" articulated figures" 2)"We could make HeMan in 4" if we felt like it but screw you and your dreams of 4" articulated figures" |
Yeah, it seemed like their way of saying "We can, but we won't". If they had more informative feedback like an explanation I'd be happier, but this was just lame.

Lol I've been reading these Matty Q and As for a while and it seems like every month there is a question about, "Can we please have good quality 4 inch figures?"
To each question, an ambiguous answer. You'd think that Mattel by now would recognize the demographic they are missing. Blind are the ignorant... |
This was enough of an answer for me. If they have no plans now and it takes 18 months to bring a line to market that means the first possible time for a 4" line would be 2014.
Fine. It's not like mattel has done something that doesn't completely suck since the 1976 spae eagle anyways. |
For the next round:
While checking various answers for the June 2012 Q&A session and came across a question and response from TNI on June 1, 2010. Based on your current status of not having any plans for a line is it fair to say your "big plans" of two years ago were to cancel the line theat you had and mock those who were your customers? TNI: There are some concerns from readers that the DC Infinite Heroes line might be ending. Have you considered maybe just starting over with a 3.75" scale line that has articulation more on par, and is the same scale as that other super hero based 3.75" line? I think collectors and kids both like to see their super hero figures in the same scale, regardless of what company makes them. Mattel: We do have some big plans for our 3 ¾” scale DC figures, we are just not ready to announce quite yet. Stay tuned! |

2) We are going to send this following question in since it condenses what many fans on the board have been asking for(and it comes up very often): Is it at all possible to get a 4" DC Universe line with articulation and pricing on par with the Marvel Universe line A) Possible, sure! Plans right now, no. Don't release them again until you buy a clue... |

I guess the Microman figures are the best we are ever going to officially get. |
I used an RoC Heavyduty as the base for my Batman, and a Bucky as the base for my Robin:

awesome Robin might have to take that design.

BTW holy crap guys those are some excellent customs! |
Great work on those customs Rodimus!! As for these Q+A i dont know why we even bother submitting questions,i thought Hasbro were evasive and vague until i started reading these Mattel ones. As for their 1/18th line someone at Mattel is clearly so short sighted they cant see past their nose, just look at the new TDK 3.75 figures, they are worse than the absolute worst DCIH figures, clearly Mattel thinks well articulated, detailed small figures arent worth their time or our money, despite all indications to the contrary.....
And inspite of myself i'd like to submit this for the next Q+A: Is there any chance Mattel/DC would consider working alongside Hasbro to produce figures based on the Amalgam Universe?? Id love to see Speed Demon and Dark Claw in 3.75 inch scale!! |
Mattel sometimes does give useful information though, Proteus.
QUESTION: What has happened to the Voltron Force toys that Mattel showed off lat toyfair ast year? We've barily heard a single thing about them since then. Are they still being planned, or have they been cancelled? |

I said sometimes.
As opposed to Hasbro who never gives useful answers. Mattel occasionally does. |

Will there be a 1/18th series of figures associated with Man of Steel like with DKR? If so will it include vehicles and/or playsets?
While Im here, if anyone hasn't checked it out yet scope out the target 5 pack. At $22.99 Its not bad and comes with free movie ticket for dark knight. If your going to pay $10 to see the movie it means the figures are 5/$13. |
