Mezco's super sized King Kong goes up for pre order in a couple of days for those who are interested. It looks cool but I have no room in my house or budget for a $250, 18" King Kong!

hoping mezco will release more end game figures
|
My pile of loot from BBTS finally arrived, meaning I finally got my hands on Blade! I pre-ordered him back in April of last year, and my goodness, was he ever worth the wait.
Blade holds a very special place in my heart, and to this day is one of my favorite characters and movies...ever. This figure is nearly everything that I could have asked for in a Blade figure, striking that perfect balance between comic and film, and is just a hell of a lot of fun to play with. I highly reccomend! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9253b3_k_d.jpg |

So I highly doubt Mezco will ever go deep with ever making all the MCU characters especially completely an mcu avengers team. |
That seems like throwing away money! Mezco says they're for collectors. There is a huge market right now for endgame figures. As a collector of one 12's I would love to see endgame figures given the one 12 treatment. How about a box set? There is precedence for this.

First, it's pretty obvious that Mezco was late or bidding cheap on the license for 6" MCU figures. This explains why they were not able to get the license for all but the few they have that are based around lower-risk properties, properties they have already established, or ones where they seemed to get the timing right and still suffered severe delays (Ragnarok figures). That's probably why they have chosen to stay more in the realm of comics and evergreen properties like the Horror figures and 89 Batman. The product development cycles must be too long to produce figures at the rate and the variety they would need to be profitable while Endgame is still popular with their current capacity. Second, Mezco is maturing slower with the One:12 line than a lot of people would like when it comes to logistics, production scaling, and especially customer satisfaction. Most of their recent figures are being produced in the thousands (similar to most Hot Toys releases) and the sustaining revenue from LDD and other lines may not be able to support the line effectively to grow and produce more consistent product (as seen by recent releases having notable QC issues). This extends further with the more "vocal" dissatisfaction of One:12 detractors or disgruntled collectors that miss a preorder. Bandai Figuarts, notably with the Infinity War and Endgame figures, have a similar pricepoint, but a higher volume and a mature product line with several character iterations to improve the engineering. Whatever Mezco is doing is not enough to match the resources available to the larger corporate producers and they will remain a boutique manufacturer for the foreseeable future. There's a lot more that can be said about a company's preferences for licensing or the ability of the product managers to actually get things finished on time, but it ultimately comes down to the risk of being a collector, especially with boutique figure lines. At some point in time, the IP, Product line, or even just the one figure you've been looking forward to years will get cancelled. |
I definitely think Mezco's release schedule is too long for them to successfully make figures based on current film and tv properties. For most MCU movies, the heroes tend to get new suits in their next movie. There's just no way that Mezco can keep up with that kind of a release schedule at their current level. Batman 89, Ghostbusters, and The Warriors are good properties for Mezco since there's no time table that they need to meet.
I'm also not seeing a lot of hype for Mezco's movie figures these days. Most of the posts I see here on Toyark or over on the Fwoosh are about Mezco's comic book figures. I think Mezco's niche has become putting their own spin on the comic book costumes. Lastly, I'm not sure that Mezco will be making that JL Flash figure. Ezra Miller's contract with WB ran out about a month back. So if there does end up being a Flash movie, it will probably be another actor and maybe even a different costume. |
John Wick FINALLY going up for preorder 5/16 at 10am EST
But he's a Mezco Direct Exclusive. http://i.imgur.com/L25bCRC.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JrutoL4.jpg |

Good luck to everyone who is going for this version though, as I'm sure it's gonna be gone fast. |
Im going to try for him- but won't be heartbroken if i miss. Thrs a lot of cool John Wick options out there-
|
That looks amazing! I will be pre ordering him for sure! It says John Wick 2 so I'm guessing there will be a regular release based on the 1st movie. But I am loving this and hope to pre order on Thursday.

I'll pass on John wick
|
Plus this is the first release that will ship internationally, I smell a shit show worse than Onyx Bats

Onyx was bad, but this may turn out to be like Classic or Spec Ops Punisher given the international shipping. Best of luck to everyone that wants one. |
After another frustrating 1/2 an hour I managed to finally pre order 1 of these. Mezco tried to sell me 4 then 2 and finally was able to get the 1. PayPal was my 1st choice but the site was overwhelmed. I tried multiple times. I then re-entered my credit card info and ordered through Mezco and that worked finally. Shit show was an understatement! I'm sure I'll be happy once my blood pressure returns to normal!

Also just realized the Mezco Exclusive Catwoman is sitting as "Buy Now" on their site
|
Yeah- he's available still but i think I'll pass. I don't think he's quite worth the price tag even with the dog and crate of gold.
