LOL! So true. I have a few and it seems that with every subsequent release he just gets uglier and less "Superman" looking. I feel like, art direction was, "He needs to have a more attractive jaw line, make it more square... make all his facial features more angular". Then the artist interpreted it as just make everything uniformly basic and blocky and rudimentary in nature like a form of "cubism" instead of applying "square" as a subtle and fundamental approach to the sculpt.


They need to contract better sculptors on their core DC line.


I used to personally know one of McFarlane's Walking Dead contract sculptors... he was great, if he was sculpting his own portrait but everything else he did was meh. He actually worked on Sony's super old, long dead DC game based on Jim Lee's art. He did not give or receive feedback very well at all.

Another Batman the fans actually want and it’s a Gold Label and SDCC exclusive. McFarlane is a troll.

I thought knightfall batman was a standard release. Goddamnit mcfartlame.

There is a standard version but its colors are underwhelming in comparison.

Yeah the super exclusiveness of this sucks, but not everyone's into cell shaded figures. Although the shading is only limited to his helmet, boots, and underwear, (unlike the cluster fk Superman turned out to be), I think I'd still rather have the original unshaded release.

That Knightfall Batman looks incredible, and I also like the robber Joker and trenchcoat Bane.
That being said, I'll be nowhere near San Diego so I suppose I'll just have to hope for a wider release.

A regular release of Knightfall Batman was solicited a few months ago. The only difference between these two, aside from the packaging, is that the exclusive has black on the cowl and trunks.

The colors on the regular release were also noticeably lighter.

Yeah. but the black color hits don't make sense. It's partial cell shading. It just looks weird.

The backlighting on the cowl and trunks has been a thing in the comics for decades. Doesn't look weird at all (to me).

I would say the colors are slightly lighter on the regular release. TBH, I've seen a lot of variation in the color of the regular release when looking at photos on Reddit or YT reviews.

Even on this in-package shot of the Gold Label release, the blues and grays look a little lighter than the out of package shot.

Great head sculpt on SDCC Knightfall Batman. Very nice. I could go for a statue with such a good head sculpt.

Yeah, I guess I'm the same too..I like it in the comics but, dont usually like it when it gets translated to 3d. Have you seen the v2 super powers batman? That backlit effect on the cowl came out really good I thought.

After seeing comparison images on instagram a few days ago, I cancelled my Amazon preorder of Knightfall Batman. He's a pipsqueak compared to other versions of Batman.

Apparently Todd didn't get the memo stating that cell shading on figures SUCKS.

Wondering when the McFarlane DC Multiverse bubble will pop more and more lately
