Not bad....Sandmen and Blackcat for me. I wish they would have given a bag of money or a brief case to cat and maybe some extra hands for Sandman

redfox 12-28-2014 12:53 PM

Yeah, this new wave of figures should have all been packed with accessories. It might have helped quell some of the hate on the lack of articulation.

Exactly !!!!!! What makes it even more frustrating is they have a GAZILLION cases, bombs, bags , guns etc.... from the GI.Joe and Star Wars line that they could recycle. My son and I are always using the toxic case from GI joe for different stories..

Lionheart 12-28-2014 04:31 PM

They have always under accessoried MU figs. The fact they make all these 'masher' type figs, but have barely any MU with changeable hands is a crime (is it only Deaths Head so far?). Sandman needed swappable arms or something.

jedirulz123 12-28-2014 04:37 PM

Perhaps they should have made Human Sandman with human arms, and all-sand Sandman with the sand arms. This makes the most sense for Hasbro because then all of us who are going to buy Sandman are definitely going to buy both. Instead, it's more of an either/or thing.

I believe way back when they were answering questions they did mention they couldn't do that. The molds are at the G.I. Joe factories. Plus they are paired with G.I. Joe figure parts.

Yeah but I think if they did that then casual collectors would absolutely skip on human Sandman in favor of weapon-armed sandy Sandman. I don't see a toy of a guy with just a striped green sweater selling well if there's a version with weapons to compete.

I thought they used a G.I. Joe buck for professor X (one of my all time favorite MU figures).
I picked up a milano hoping it would fit my MU GOTG set, only rocket fit. I'm gonna try to hollow out the cockpit when my kids lose interest so I can fit star lord and drax.
Old subject but easy passes for me include iron man 2020, doc Samson, hobgoblin (better version from spiderman line), old punisher, ronin (Clint Barton wish we had an accuser), hand ninja, and ultimate magneto (too much wash on face).

En Sabah Nerd 12-28-2014 07:53 PM

Yeah Professor X uses the first movie Destro from the SDCC set as his base, at least I think that's the one.

Casual collectors aren't getting both anyway. And he's not just a guy, you forget they released a Mary Jane Watson, who really is just a woman with a Spiderman top.

Yeah but people know that Sandman can turn his body into whatever type of weapons, so seeing a figure without that option when there's one with those weapon limbs would be a pass. It would be similar to making an Absorbing Man that doesn't have his wrecking ball, or a Green Goblin without his glider. Besides Mary Jane came with Ms Lion so there's that extra bit.

Some unique accessories could really help these figures. I've bought many crappy figures because of cool accessories.

Mary Jane is slightly different though. She was a Fan's choice winner and beat out many
Superheroes in the poll.

I thought it would have been neat to make a comic-pack of sorts with Ghost Rider and his bike. The way they did the Johnny Blaze is okay to me since it gives a small degree of choice in what bike you give him, with the variety of 1:18 scale bikes to choose from you can go with the more traditional stunt bike, a Harley of your choice, or whatever you want. Though if they do the Danny Ketch rider then they kind of have to use his specific bike since he didn't ride a bike comparable to anything on the roads.

debating liquidating my collection. I've had a blast with it, but its taking up a ton of space, and I'm moving on from toys to vintage videogames. and my current job doesnt allow me to get as deep as I did previously, plus the vintage games, plus the few figmas and figuarts figures I purchase....

Got tons of rare stuff though. SDCC Helicarrier, Maria Hill, Black Goliath, Solid Vision, Ice Giants, Fin Fang Foom, Flame On Human Torch, MS Mephisto, MS Watcher, some other BAFs, Taskmaster, Radioactive Man, Tigershark......idunno. lol

I finally found past MI wave 1 at Target today and picked up a Whirlwind, the other 4 are all from Christmas. I like to give the Leader his missile as a control rod of sorts since the blaster looks goofy as hell on his arm. Other than that I've got no real complaints for these additions to my collection except that Whirlwind's ankles are pretty loose. So this probably concludes my Marvel 3.75" additions for the year, overall a decent year with mostly some catch ups for me but still some new for 2014 toys.

pulling the trigger. a good number of my rarest figures are online in the BST forums. I tried to go lower than comparison to some of the ebays.

I stopped by a local target today to see if I could find the new bishop wave... No luck. What really threw me off is they had an MU jean grey and apocolypse. I check this target every few weeks, and was just there a week or so ago they weren't there. The employee was clueless/indifferent. The card looked fairly worn with some very light water damage on one corner. I wonder if they had been sitting in the stockroom for 5 years or if someone returned them.

I didn't think Bishop's wave was anywhere but Asia yet. Sometimes my local stores pull out some old stuff that got lost in the back somewhere or shipped from a distribution warehouse extremely late. Like my local HEB (a local grocery chain in Texas) had pulled out an old ass '90s Spider-Man J Jonah Jameson from Toybiz that they said was hidden behind some shelves in the back and they didn't even know how to price it, weird stuff happens.

Excited to see 3.75 waves coming our way. I'll be patient for the wave until March, then I'll lose it if they aren't hitting retail.

Also, shame about the Age of Ultron 2.5" toys. Even my nieces and nephews, ages 5-9, think that scale is for "little kids."

bmorr 12-30-2014 05:43 PM

i wouldnt call them action figures. more like micro machines.

Bluenope 12-30-2014 06:07 PM

For anyone looking for AA Leader

Well, I like the smaller figures, but I dislike how they seem to be replacing the 3.75 figures. Why not both???
