@boy blunder
All of Hasbro's Thor figs are grossly out of scale, with the exception of the MCU versions. They (the MCU Thors) are, strangely, perfect...[WTF?] In this age of perpetual requests for updated figs, my suggestion, outside of a new Surfer (:D hah ha! it's been a while!), would be a definitive Thor in his 'actual size' proportionate to the other MLs. While they're at it, Hasbro could redo the entire Wrecking Crew since they also screwed them up by making them in-scale with Thor (only). Thor (and the Wrecking Crew) should be on the Hyperion-buck. |

Personally I kinda like it. Really gives Thor a "larger than life" feel. @Boy Blunder: I believe the sword was a briefly-held accessory in the Thor run wherein that costume debuted. Might be wrong on that. Either that or it's the "Sword of Odin" but I don't think that's the case. |

Also at least in the case of the Netflix shows I'm wondering if it's the level of content. A few video game people have said Marvel and Disney asked them not to include Daredevil or Jessica Jones because they didn't want kids associating those people with the Avengers and then watching their shows thinking it'll be the same deal, and I'm wondering if that might extend to the toys as well. |

Even if you set aside Marvel's "classic look," which is hard to do considering that this phenomenon played an important role in the scales set up for Toy Biz's (and subsequently, Hasbro's) Marvel Legends Figures, Hasbro's "comic" Thor is quite out of place among the figs themselves. I'll use a couple of the characters you mentioned, namely Colossus and the Hulk. Colossus is over 7' in armored form and the Hulk ranges from roughly Thor's intended height of 6'6" (Mr. Fixit) to nearly 9'. The figs for both of these characters tower over most regular figs, as they should. However, equal in stature to both of them is Thor and the Wrecking Crew. You're entitled to like whatever you want, of course, but many fans are calling for a redo of these figs due to scale probs. The only Hasbro "comic" Thor I don't have is that EU release, but I refuse to display or snap photos of them because they stand out like sore thumbs. The chorus is building to have these figs redrafted. ...also, I've close college buddies that are 6'5" and 6'6" respectively weighing in at two and one half bills...and trust me, they are "larger than life." lol |

Regarding an Agent Carter figure, I would love one. Hasbro could use the buck (I'm guessing suited with a skirt) for Pepper Potts and Victoria Hand figures, but aside from that I can't think of many others. Valerie Cooper? Perhaps even Kavita Rao and Cecelia Reyes with an added physician's coat. Quote:
http://thebrotherhoodofevilgeeks.fil...3/03/thor8.jpg It can also be used in tandem with the Ares or Stryfe figures! |
Regarding the Thor figure size, I think the latest Thor from the All Father wave works well. He's a little big, but I like it. The Wrecking Crew is freaking huge. They should have been a little shorter. But that's just me.

Speaking of Thor, you think we might get a classic Kirby Thor any time soon? They gave us classic versions of Iron-Man and now Cap so Thor seems fitting.

What in the name of hell? It's like some modern detailing Mego thing...
(I guess it goes without saying that's a pass for me...) |
@Nash
I like 'em...saggy baggies and all! The Daredevils look really cool IMO! |

I'd love if Hasbro just started doing a bunch of classic designs with their characters. But I do understand the need for more modern designs that better represent how the characters currently look. Quote:

I wonder what we could expect from a Thor Legends wave. It's heavily rumored Hela and Valkyrie are in the third movie, so a ML for one of them would be cool.

I like the hulking Wrecking Crew, too. Gives them really good "shelf presence" if that makes sense. Again, I don't have a problem if they make a "Marvel Universe Handbook accurate" Thor (or two or three). I'd buy 'em. And as others have noted here, a "classic" Thor (swappable Masterson-Helmet and Classic heads) would be long overdue. |
@Jmacq1
I hear your perspective, I just have problems when I place Hasbro's Thors next to Herc, Beta Ray Thor, and Toy Biz's Destroyer. In a similar fashion, when I line up the Wrecking Crew with other villains that I know are roughly the same size, such as Tiger Shark, they seem equally out of place. Funny you should mention Iron Man, because MCU fans unfamiliar with Tony from the 'books,' frequently advocate that he should be as tall as Thor with his armor. lol Popularity among fans is a funny thing and even less reliable than artist interpretation! :D ...but whatevs, rock whichever Thor suits your fancy. Mine is still Giant Man series Thor, but in a perfect world, that fig would be the height of those MCU Thors. |
