And she was 27 during it.

@Chuck

I loved that run too...I just need one last Wolverine to do that team justice with a Legends line-up.

Stopped would indicate it wasn't still an on going process. ;)

I think that should be something Hasbro does...every time a new Emma gets made, she has to look younger and younger (but still adult) each time. Brings the plastic to a whole new level of meaning.

Oh boy, I think I may have gotten us off topic some. Sorry! Still just anxious for any new leaks/previews for the actual Toyfair....don't know what I'm going to do on Sunday when I'm supposed to actually be celebrating Valentine's Day and will be questioned why I'm on my phone while out at dinner.

Marvel Legends Civil War: OAP edition. With accessories such as Zimmer frames, catheters, and a BAF mobility scooter! :thumbs

But you know I'm all about getting a BAF Kingpin, so it's hard to say no, no matter who is in the wave.

Colleen Wing, anyone? :D As far as Jewel's retroactive status is concerned, I can sort of buy hers, as she was hardly a superhero for very long. Being in Peter Parker's class, however, I... like to ignore that. I also hate Jewel's costume, and would prefer her to get a Netflix figure, but similarly to Nico's conundrum, is Hasbro willing to sculpt the mother of all sculpted detail... clothes?!

ArsGratiaArtis 02-12-2016 01:54 PM

I'd rather a Knightress than a Jewel

TheBlueMarvel 02-12-2016 02:00 PM

I'd rather a Night Thrasher than either of those Jessica 'Alias'es'...I know, not related...but it was/is in my mind.

Boy Blunder 02-12-2016 02:01 PM

Bah to you all! Bring on the Jessica figure! :D

She was Knightstress for like half an issue, that said, I want Jessica in any shape or forum.

Yeah, if I'm going to get something that goofy I'd rather have a Rocket Racer and embrace the cheese than deadly serious razor skateboard Night Thrasher

And the costume was more aesthetically appealing than the Jewel suit. Plus she'd be better Batwoman fodder.

Okay, it took a lot of scouring, but I found it. I did this because Joss wrote my favourite Emma Frost in all of her comic appearances.

It's a crime that we still don't have an acceptable Astonishing Emma Frost ML figure. The first looked like a steamrollered eldery man in a blonde wig, and the second looked like a younger Patsy Stone.

He is, most definitely, a BEAST.

"Goofy?" Thrash? BLASPHEMER!! Say that round the half-pipe at your own peril!...but yeah, it was a corny gimmick to draw in kids, but I still liked Thrash's personality and the way he was portrayed as a hardened leader. At least he wasn't strippin' for a living...;)

I would love to get a New Warriors wave! I mean, we don't have anyone but Nova! Night Trasher would be awesome to have. Speedball! Silhouette! Namorita! And of course the ones I'd want most....Justice and Firestar. I wll not turn any of these down!

If they ever make a Night Thrasher, they need to also make Rocket Racer and then invent a Dark Wheelie so we can have Dwayne McDuffie's complete Teenage Negro Ninja Thrashers.

Oh wow. that memo.....SMH. Good find though!

TheBlueMarvel 02-12-2016 02:36 PM

@Nash

I'm all over a New Warriors line, man!

@ARS

Ok, ARS...who are you? And don't say Batman!

Seriously, you're pretty quick and comprehensive with your comic info. I love everything Dwyane brought to DC supes-toons...RIP. That said, some of the stuff on the comic side (that Milestone stuff was really not my cup of tea with the exception of Hardware and Icon) almost felt exploitative. "Negro" is a term I play around with close friends and family. But as a serious pitch for 'concept?' What was dude thinking? He is due a great deal of respect in the industry and beyond. But what you just shared is a bit of a head scratch-er, for me....still, very interesting history though. Thanks, man!

Edit: he had to be messing with them ('bizarre speech patterns,' and an 'attractive white female friend to calm them down?' lol wtf) , but the Milestone stuff had similar elements...

That was the point of it. It was an over the top satirical pitch to protest the fact that a quarter of the Black representation in the Marvel books at the time were guys on skateboards who dressed and spoke like stereotypes from 15 years ago and needed their White friends to bail them out and keep them in check.

I agree, I want Firestar in her outfit from the Maximum Carnage run.

Thank goodness. However, some of that Milestone stuff was similar to what he was jabbing at. What's your impression of that? I'm interested to know. PM me if you feel the need to take this off-line...avoid derailing the thread.

Haha nope. Central IL.

For sure! I kept eyeballing the gear on the Scourge I picked up on my way to work today thinking his gear will work for some stuff as well.

Captain Nash 02-12-2016 04:41 PM

Okay the search is on! I got Whirlwind and Mockingbird already as preorders, but now I'm going to venture out this weekend and try to find Cap and Sharon Carter. A good friend of mine pointed out that Sharon will make excellent custom fodder, being a white outfitted figure. I'm in it to win it now.

I don' care about the others. Taskmaster I'm good on with the Toybiz one, and Scourge and Copperhead ....eh. And Red Onslaught I could care less about completing. I mean, I could care even less than caring less. The concept was awful and while the figure might be great for an Onslaught I already have one.

So wish me luck!

I would kill for a jim lee era white bodice fur caped thigh high hooker boots and quarter thong undies version of white queen.
