peteparker,andycr75,megrimlock79 and 77kustoms thank yall for these

Glad you got them safely, sorry for the delay.

Checked out my 2 local WM and i'm sad to say I think they are both going to stop carrying the MU line. Took this pic of one WM and these are the same figures that have been there for 3 months, and they refuse to restock. The other WM didn't even have a place for any MU and I found what they had left back in the clearance section and they only had comic packs marked down to 8, singles down to 5, team packs down to 15, and 1 sentinel they had left marked down to 40

Oh, and R2-D2 IS the Force.

Thanks. I THINK it's from the 30th Anniversary line. I got it a few years ago. Only his legs move, his head doesn't spin, but he's electronic--you push a button on his "chest" and he makes a few different R2 beeps & boops.

I swear they must've made 3x as many Spidy/Sentry Comic Packs as any others. I don't think I've walked through a toy aisle in about a year without seeing that pack.. and it's usually similar to this picture where there's nothing other than that damn pack and one or two other commons, but sure enough, Sentry is always there.

bmorr 01-12-2012 07:15 AM

all these walmarts....truly the end of days.

That, and around here it seems like every Thor/Enchantress comic pack has just a Thor in it. Everywhere I go I see that pack with Enchantress snatch from it!

have 5 walmarts around me, 4 carry MU but only one restocks semi frequently, but none have restocked since a couple weeks b4 christmas. I'm done hunting until i hear that people are spotting the new waves. I'm tired of fighting the traffic and wasting the time and gas to just be disapointed.

Going to:
3 TRU's
4 Walmarts
8 Targets
and 1 LCS

A couple times a week and not finding anything for months is pretty discouraging, thats why i'm suprised that I can never find varients. Either distribution sucks, or the scalpers in my area are the best in the world.

Thats 16 stores! 16!!!! I should should have all the best pickins in the world but I've never found one varient at retail. Not one! I never got the electro revision wave, i still havent seen the DD/BE or WM/QS packs. Needless to say, i'm out of love with the hunt.

usagent27 01-12-2012 09:22 AM

i gave up and ordered the DD pack from amazon. 18.00 so thats not too bad....

in my area i'm pretty sure there are scalpers because the pegs are almost always barren...except for the iron man MU... it's sad

I am the same way. It is annoying and very discouraging. I think the stores do not see a demand and short order most things. I am pretty sure in their eyes, if the toy isn't from a cartoon for young kids, or attached to a recent movie, then they do not care to order.

That's a lot of Iron Men. Perfect for statues outside of the Avengers Mansion tho.

A LOT of the $5 Walmarts just changed their MU price back up to $8.97. It seems to have been a temporary attempt to clear out old stock. You're lucky that one got a Sentinel at all, of the 11 Walmarts in my area, ONE stocked Sentinels. They're still full price.

Maybe if he wasn't wearing lipstick he would have moved faster...

Yup, part of the reset to prepare for new stock. It's kind-of a good thing. Kind-of.

I've got:
2 TRUs
11 Walmarts
5 Targets
3 LCS'

I hit the Walmarts the most, but really only two of those routinely get new cases, the rest just barely follow along (though two of them have never restocked as long as I've been hunting). Targets seem to restock MU only once a week (fridays here), and TRUs get a shipment once a week too. They'll usually tell you when the truck comes. It was 2-3 times a week before Christmas. I only hit LCS when I know a new wave came out, or when I need old stuff I can't find anywhere else.

The LCS' and TRUs are the only place I've ever found varients. It all depends on when they buy the case. Early in the production is a lot different than later, when Walmart and Target usually get them.

What I think happens is Hasbro produces the pre-orders first. Places like LCS' and TRU know if they're going to buy these or not, so their orders are in early. Then right before starting up production for the Walmarts and Targets, the Hasbro factory changes out the paint apps or whatever, and mass-produces the much more common versions of the figures.

That's been my experience, so that'd be my guess. If anyone found the Metal Absorbing Man at Walmart or Target, call me out. Maybe my theory doesn't hold water.

usagent27 01-12-2012 09:33 AM

I have only found Variant MU at LCS and Toys r us.

Is the Modular Iron Man a good pick for a default Iron Man? for display purposes?

I have my IM mark 4 (the circle arc reactor in the chest instead of the tringle arc reactor) displayed, in came in one of those target exclusive hall of armor base packs, i got it on clearence for 3 bucks.

I think it is one of the best IM's to display. They make it in the IM2 toy line and there is usually plenty of them peg warming at any retail chain store you go to. the only problem with mine is that the chest to torso joint is really loose, so once you set it, a light breeze will cauze it to flop over.

I did recently pick up a second one at marshalls since they've made it there, but i havent opened it yet.

It is! So under-rated by us fans too. If only they have him ball-hinge wrists...that would be ultimate!

Actually at the WM in the pic they have 4 Sentinel on the bottom shelf I'm waiting on them to clearance out. And yes that's a lot of Iron Man figures

Me personaly I think all Iron Man MU figures stink but that's b/c that's all I've seen for 4 months.....oh and don't forget the Sentry/Spidey 2-pack...it sucks too lol

WalkingDeadpool 01-12-2012 10:42 AM

A quick shot of my Hand Ninjas...I love the New DD...Not as good as the 2pack,but waaaay better then the old buck....also the paint apps makes this figure shine.....I know I know it would have been a lot better with the new buck, but I'm happy with him....I need more Hand Ninjas LOL!

I agree. I just set up an Avengers display and Bleeding Edge / Modular Iron Man is hands down the best Iron Man. One of the best MU figures IMO.

Put me down for BE IM as well. Awesome figure.

..if there is a version of a character that comes with rocker ankles, that's usually the one to own.
