I would have preferred they not use the teenage buck for Kitty. I know there was some discussion on this (probably 20 pages back by now) but modern Kitty appears to be around 25 or so. At least she did when she was in the pre-Secret Wars GotG and Black Vortex cross-over events. The Beetle or Wasp bucks would have seemed more appropriate. On that note, anyone know what buck they chose for Silk? I only did a quite glance at the photo a couple of days ago but it seemed like they went with the smaller teenage female buck for her as well. Silk is supposed to be the same age as Peter so that seems WAY off. |

@Kirathis, I believe that Silk is on a weird amalgamation/new body altogether! She has a brand new upper (with a larger chest, or am I imagining that?), alongside the Beetle legs (if you look, she has a wider gap in between her hips and her thighs, which might be due to the Wasp lower torso and the Beetle legs). See here:
http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/up...Marvel-117.jpg This, if true, is brilliant news, as it would give her FAR more poseability compared to the Hellcat/Misty Knight/Wasp buck, whose thighs are so chunky that they can barely raise them! I am personally very excited for this figure. Partly because I really like Cindy Moon's design and as a character, but mostly because this buck provides a PERFECT base for Marvel Now Psylocke. :D Quote:
As for Kitty, I agree 100% that she should not be a standard beauty. She was designed by Byrne to be a gawpy, lanky individual, after all. However, the puffy cheeks make her look so... young! I think that's my problem with the figure, this combination of her chubby cheeks and the teen buck which gives the impression that she's 15, which is fine, but then why is she in her Marvel Now costume? I am very particular when it comes to X-Men figures and continuity. :p |

@Von
That silk is a standout. Now that I've gotten a better look at the fig, her costume is really well designed and what I'd want for a 'Spider Folk' character. Additionally, she is bustier than most figs her size. Apologies in advance; I know no other way to make that observation without it seeming more misogynistic than it already reads. I definitely hear you on Kitty's retro head on a modern body. Kitty's face does appear young looking from certain angles, but I think the top-down view of her face is very flattering. ...and yes, Sage is long overdue! About the mystery BAF and future X-lines: just based on the excitement over this wave alone, I consider more X-themed waves to be a no-brainer. I'm still leaning toward a Sentinel as the speculative BAF. As Boy Blunder mentioned, I don't see Marvel/Hasbro handing anything to Fox in the way of profits/publicity, which works against any sighting of Apocalypse...at least in the short term. I could be wrong; I hadn't expected an X-wave either...and if it ends up being a Nimrod, I'll need to be revived with some smelling salts. |
Sauron, Shadow King, Nimrod, Sebastian Shaw (though he could be a single figure) or Bastion all would be awesome BAF, in that order of preference for me. I get why people want a Juggernaut, Apocalypse, Sentinel though. Warlock would also be good if they ever got around to doing some New Mutant figures.

@TBM, Verily, an ample bosom she doth possess!
@Nash, a Warlock BAF? ... You sir have just suggested my dream Build-a-Figure! Shadow King and Nimrod would also be a top priority of mine. May I throw in two oddball suggestions with Armor and Gentle? |

So what do I do when all my attempts at posting a reply are denied?
I didn't post links and I have no idea what spammy words are. Well look at that! It posted! I've been trying for the better part of an hour. I'll keep pushing my luck: BlueMarvel Thanks for the kind words. You have my full support. Which look would you prefer? I personally would prefer his modern look without the helmet. Normally I like the classics, but the new look appeals to me because I see it as a way to emphasize the fact that he is much more OK with himself and his place in the world. Also there is the hope that he will be in the same wave as Monica, so we can start building some ... wait what was their team called now? ;) I think they did a great job on Kitty. Couldn't agree more on the need for different faces. I think Hasbro is doing a well enough job of getting different body-types and faces into a line that still has a recognizable uniformity to it as a whole. There are just two small worries about the prototype though. One is the removal of the boot-cut. The other is will Lockheed be removable. Time will tell. I'm still definitely in though! (I can't believe it finally worked!) |
I wish they woulda called x23 WILDTHING instead of pcing her to be a femsle eolverine. Id like to see them somehow bring a M2 Wildthing into the fold, she was one of my faves from the shortlivd m2

I hope we get a Laura as Wolverine down the line. That'd be a cool figure.
Along with Ms. Marvel of course. Quote:

@VonPooten
Thank you for posting up the figure. As I mentioned before, I only saw a quick glimpse of it while I was out and it did not do the figure justice. Seeing it now, I am much happier with it and agree fully with you and TBM. She is definitely on my list. I only know the character from Spider-Verse but I quite enjoyed her and the amusing interaction between her and Peter. Quote:
On another note, I think I may end up purchasing full wave cases again. I stopped last year as I was either irked about a duplicate figure or just simply did not want everyone in the wave. As this year's waves are released, I see more where I want most of the figures and I am kind of wishing I had gone the case route with the Cap wave. Part of this comes from the addition of the pieces to make an additional character with the current double-packed Cap and Reilly. Sure it is mostly the same character and I will end up with duplicates of the extra pieces (rather meh all things considered) but the idea of being able to have a permanent Cap-Wolf or Spider-Carnage figure seems to lesson the pain of a duplicate figure in the box. To that end, I know some other members recently stopped their case purchases as well. Does the possibility of having the double-packed figure be permanently displayed with their alternate appearance/character make case buying more appealing again to you all as well? |
I would like an X-23 Wolverine. However, I would dig a better X-23 than the one Toy Biz gave us way back when. Or an X-Force design. It doesn't seem like Hasbro is going back to old costumes at this point, but I can still hope.

Rina Logan, AKA Wild Thing, is the daughter of Wolverine and Elektra in the MC2 timeline (Earth-982, where Mayday Parker/Spider-Girl hails from). In addition to her father's platter of powers, Rina can project psionic 'claws' from her hands - similar in function to Psylocke's psychic blade. Quote:
But in all seriousness, I've wanted to see Jimmy, Laura, and Rina together in some capacity or another - even if it's only to beat up on Daken. |

@Daetrin
At first, I thought you were asking my opinion of which Shroud outfit I'd prefer. Duh...his costume hasn't changed much (if at all)...the question at hand is about Marvel. I like Blue Marvel's Ultimates duds. It's a smart redesign with a leaner Marvel who's gotten older and lost some muscle mass. However, I'm not a super-hero jacket guy and that throws it off a bit for me. I also love the Macedonian style helm and gladiatorial boots of the original costume, but the symbol on his chest is a little too busy. Ultimately, I'm a fan of simplicity in super-costumes, so my #1 choice is the costume from Original Sin (which I believe is his standard). The simple design with over-sized cape and gleaming arm-bands are befitting of a ridiculously powerful "Superman-esque" character. It seems (to me, at least) that comic artists often go that route when a character is intended to be a paragon of might and virtue. Almost as if the unwritten rule is that you must go retro for the 'show-stopper' heroes. Thor, Gladiator, Hyperion, etc...I would hope for a spare helmeted head accessory for the best of both worlds. But honestly, I'd be happy with any of these three Blue Marvel iterations...and a couple of the alternative time-line versions, like my avatar. |
