The only info shared about the BAF is that it's similar in size to the Hulk Buster. That leaves out a bunch of great suggestions from the last few pages...

Apocalypse. Does anyone know what's the size comparison between the Hulkbuster and the Toy Biz BAF Apocalypse?

If it's closer to HB size, then sadly yeah Sauron is out. A Nimrod sounds like a likely possibility unless it's Juggernaut. |
If it turns out to be Juggernaut when A) The Marvel Select one is perfect, and B) Nimrod would be the best BAF for this wave, I'll be miffed.

So I got a Terrax off ebay and maybe it wasn't a good idea buying a used figure after all. Sure, it was the price of 2 figures, but my god his joints are loose as all hell. His biceps, shoulders, and left thigh where the leg sticks into are horribly loose so much so that he can barely stand or hold his axe. UGH!!!

A Thunderbird figure is in my dream X-men line up. Classic boxset !! STORM, POLARIS, THUNDERBIRD, SUNFIRE, CYCLOPS and WOLVERINE (A NEW TIGER STRIPE) |

In general they're kinda underused. |

Yeah, a Sauron BAF would be sweet!
(Continues working on a custom one) ;) Seriously, he would be awesome. |
With all the excitement over the new Legends announcement, thought I'd share a little love for an under-appreciated figure from Toy Biz's past...and one that I wouldn't mind seeing redone...(with a new bike of course! No more bike-not-included Ghost Rider fiascoes!) Today's arrival...Vengeance!

Okay, so now that the craziness of the weekend has ended, I wanted to put my thoughts onto each Legends reveal:
Movie Cap - Pointless and an easy pass. Nick Fury - I'll probably get him as he looks pretty awesome and it is cool to have a classic Fury. Plus, it means I can get rid of that awful mold they used for the Ultimate/Jackson version. Nuke - Pass. I know next to nothing about him outside of the JJ TV series and I thought he was a mediocre character. The figure looks more like they gave face paint to Guile and cut his hair. Iron man - I like this one due to his accessories and he seems to be a lot better than the AoU one when it comes to posseability. Black Panther - Just down right awesome looking all arond. Red Guardian - Easy pass. I have no idea who he is, nor do I care enough to read about him. Dormmamu - I already have the SDCC one, so this is a total waste of time and a waste of a BAF. Talk about complete laziness on Hasbro's part. Nico - She was my favorite character from Runaways, but I do wish they had actually given her one of her more interesting outfits. This one is kind of bland compared to the other stuff she has worn. Silk - I'll get her if I end up getting the entire wave. She was all right in the issues I read, but not important enough for me to make her a must have. That is what I have Gwen for. Teen Peter Spidey - Pretty much the same as Silk. I just hope he comes with webbing accessories or something because I doubt he can top Pizza Spidey. That would have been possible if they had sculpted his webbing. Miles Spidey - This is pretty cool and he is a must get no matter what. I hope he has several accessories including an unmasked head. Hobgoblin - BEST REVEAL!!!! I wasn't expecting this to happen since they just gave us a modern version, but awesome. Unfortunately, now I feel like I wasted money getting the new one. I love how awesome he is and he has the tattered cape he had in the comics I read when he was with the Sinister Six. I hope Hasbro uses this body to give us both a classic Green Goblin and a Demogoblin. Deadpool - Meh, I'll get him if I get Rogue. For what it is worth though, he does look kind of cool. Rogue - My favorite version of her and I'll probably get her. Shadow Cat - Meh, have no interest in this version of her. I do like that she comes with Lockey though. Cable - UGLY!!!! That is hands down the worst design I have ever seen him with. Iceman - Cool, I guess. Not for me though unless the BAF makes this wave worth buying. As for the store exclusives (if I have them right): Female Hawkeye - Have no interest in her. Cap Falcon - Depends on how easy he is to find and what the price is. Vision - Almost as ugly as Cable and the lack of open hands hurt. Punisher - Most likely a must buy. Falcon/Winter Soldier 2 pack - I'll most likely buy it depending on the price. Worst case scenario, I wait for it to go on clearance like the Ultron Target 3 pack. I don't believe I missed anyone. Overall, I'm 50/50. I liked some of what I see, loved other bits, and then not too keen on others. I don't understand the point in showing some of the Doctor Strange stuff now when the movie won't be out until Nov, but didn't reveal the rest of the figures to waves that will be out in the next few month's. What is so important about the Spidey and X-Men BAFs that they can't reveal them now? Oh, and why didn't they show Giant Man when we have seen his image on the box? BTW, I know why my Terrax leg was loose: http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...pskfaj99q4.jpg Not too happy about it. I've asked the seller for a partial refund since this means I need to hunt down replacement lower torso and and leg. |

I keep reading conversations about the BAF parts being spread among two X-waves. The 'shared' info I referenced was an interview with some Hasbro exec following last year's NY Comic Con (whatever event first heralded the coming of this X-wave). I can't recall his name; it's the toys that are important to me not the corporate personalities. In any event, it's entirely possible that they decided to go larger than what that Hasbro employee shared in the podcast. At this point, I'd rather have a Nimrod. |
A BAF spread over two waves would be cool, and it would account for why there's not a reveal on it yet. I just hope if that's the case, that as great as these figures in the first wave are, they will please put at least one brand new never done before figure in the second wave. Yeah, I do have my personal preference but really any will do. I just don't feel like it's asking for a lot to have one totally new figure per wave and I do feel a little irritated that they opted not to do that with the x-wave. Hopefully a second wave can bring us that.
And if it's Colossonaut, I'm going to be totally annoyed. I know, I'm sure the design has its fans but I thought it was hideous. |

Vengeance was pretty cool. I miss him. I think most of the 90's just looked cool. I forget how much substance there actually was.

@Kain, I think that's just the BAF leg part which has fallen off, not that the figure itself is broken. I could be wrong though, does anyone else remember how Terrax was assembled?

Edit: A two wave BAF? Huh... Would they do that? I mean, in some ways it's a genius tactic into getting people to insta-buy two solid waves, but that is a large risk to take. If it were a two wave-BAF, there is no doubt that it can be anything other than a Sentinel. I don't know how I would feel about that, since the ToyBiz Sentinel is perfect in every aspect. |
@Von
I was thinking the same thing about Terrax. That's not how I would imagine the 'breaking' of that joint would look. |
