Lol...I've actually only seen the one I have. The waves are available at TRU and Walmart. I've yet to see them at Target.

Robb 02-21-2016 06:34 PM

My son is named Logan as well.

I'm almost 90 percent sure that the Sharon Carter figure actually uses the headsculpt from the cancelled Rogue figure from the Previews Wolverine wave a few years back. Someone on another site that I dare not mention (you know which one...) made a side by side picture comparison, and they were nearly identical.

Welcome to the Ark, and to the thread. We're all a wily, Marvel Legends crazed bunch, but we're harmless and full of worthless knowledge...so bear with us and have some fun!

Raf is a sort of Super Saiyan Santa Claus if you will. He lives in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, yet manages to find not only the best stuff, but lots of it. So much of it, that he often has no choice but to practically give it away, because otherwise, he and his family will drown in an ocean of toys. It's almost as if the empty pegs you see on your own store shelves are that way, because Raf has an inside man trafficking figures inside of secret compartments on pick-up trucks.

We love you Raf....but come on. We know you're secretly the Pablo Escobar of action figures. Especially Wonder Woman...=P

...Jefe: I have put many beautiful pinatas in the storeroom, each of them filled with little suprises.
El Guapo: Many pinatas?
Jefe: Oh yes, many!
El Guapo: Would you say I have a plethora of pinatas?
Jefe: A what?
El Guapo: A *plethora*.
Jefe: Oh yes, you have a plethora.
El Guapo: Jefe, what is a plethora?
Jefe: Why, El Guapo?
El Guapo: Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora.
Jefe: Forgive me, El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?...

Lol! Classic...

Phantomcrow 02-22-2016 11:53 AM

If anyone is wanting new Legends, I think TRU will be getting plenty. I snagged a shot of their new planogram and they are making pretty good sized spots for Legends in both sizes.

While mostly DC accessories, I love one of my local comic shops. They let me have all these accessories and stands for FREE because they had someone bring in a bunch of figures and did not want to figure out who went with what. I even offered to put them with the correct figures (because I could identify them all) and they said not to bother and I could just have them. There are even almost 30 of the interlocking stands included.

Also if anyone was wanting to try and make a classic wasp or custom Gwen ( from the I Zombie figure) they are going to have to do some neck work as the peg and holes are non matching. I just did some head swapping to test them out.

Great score on those accesories there Phantomcrow!

SymbiSpidey 02-22-2016 12:38 PM

Just got my ToyBiz Series 1 Iron-Man. I actually really dig the way this figure looks, especially when next to either Face-Off or Red Onslaught Wave Cap or Galactus Series War Machine. He's really loose at the waist, but it's definitely manageable. And the gorilla arms don't really bother me in person.

I'm just glad I have a non-movie Iron-Man figure that I really like to add to the Avengers collection. Now I just have to work on getting a Giant-Man series Thor...

Captain Nash 02-22-2016 01:12 PM

That TRU plangagram, awesome! So glad I have a TRU in the area, 10 minutes from my house...hopefully I can score most of my upcoming stuff there. Or my usual online route of course.

It's amazing that you guys have LCS that have discounts on figures. Not around here. The markup is ridiculous and even on days like FCBD they maybe discount a couple dollars if that at all. Most figures, even unwanted or those collecting dust, have a markup of about $10 at the least. Even figures that are readily available at other stores. Maybe it's a California thing like taxes. We always have to pay more.

Boy Blunder 02-22-2016 02:59 PM

That TRU planograph is the bee's knees. Twenty-one pegs for ML figures? I'm gonna have a heart attack.

Our LCS has a discount card system (you pay for it at the beginning of the year) that nets you at least a 10% discount on comics, boards, and bags, and a discount on everything they sell if you buy the VIP card. Unfortunately, that's about as discounted as things get at ours. And they rarely have loose figures, or at least rarely have ones released in the past ten years.

That sucks. There was one comic book store I'd go to once a month due to having a box of comics I was set to get every month, but since last year I have only been once or twice. They were really awesome on their markups, like maybe $2 usually. I remember finding the HB wave and everything was #22 plus tax which was great. They also were very fair about the rarer figures, way back when in the Toy Biz legends day, they had the limited produced Scarlet Witch for $14, which was only $2 more than the rest of the figures they had from that wave.

I wasn't finding the same level of outstanding prices elsewhere in the area, but this one shop really was great.

Unrelated notes: What with the new house coming along, and in preparation for a display area, I have invested in some of those Tamashii effects. I ordered about 8 different pieces and look forward to using them when I have the display. Thank you for all that have inspired me, and you know who you are! And Von, I believe it was you, I'm totally going to do the Jean Grey vs. Sabretooth scene....

Speaking of which. The new Purple and Black flame look amazing!

That's actually one I ordered.

Do they sell these in stores too? I got all mine through Amazon but I may need to feed my hunger for these things.

Actually TBM, the three you listed JRJR, John Byrne and Davis, along with Jim Lee and Mark Silvestri, are my five favorite illustrators the X-Men have seen. The only other artist I can think of that would top those in general is my all time favorite: George Perez...sadly I don't recall that he ever graced the X-books with his talent.

Edit: Okay, Armored Pyslocke was Silvestri. But I think that entire era was overall so amazingly good it kind of blended together. I am probably living in nostalgia though and proud of it. That is the era I started reading the X-men books, and to me Silvestri and JRJR have very similar styles.

I still want an armored Psylocke figure though. :D

Love Silvestri's art, who or where does he draw now.

I have only seen loose stuff at LCS and told they were used. Not a big deal since you really cant ruin it or anything unless you break a piece off but as far as retail packaging, I have never seen them at any stores.
