Just looked it up myself. I was lukewarm about the wave initially, but I feel better about them seeing them in packaging. Easy to see now what's changed with the new Cap, as he has less white on his body.
Giant Man does look like he's gonna be a big one...standing in at least over 12 inches tall, possibly 14 inches like Apocalypse back in the ToyBiz days... |
Hasbro Marvel Legend figure stands

Hey I posted this somewhere else, but was wondering

i hope this new spider-man body is only going to be for this figure, cause im still waiting for an updated scarlet spider (kaine) and i wouldnt want him to be smaller then the other current line up. i mean yea they new spiderman will fit more in with the current other heroes that legends has, but not for the spider men theme figures. i mean he looks the same size as miles. which again is a great size for an avangers display but not spiderman themed, which is a main reason i will buy the figure.

Damn, the Giant-Man BAF looks huge.
There's a lot of smaller teenagers they could use the new Spider-buck for. Nova immediately comes to mind. |

I agree with Nash. There are a lot of non main characters that we have gotten. Like Cotton Mouth, or Machine Man, or Red Guardian. I think the mutants need some love too. Another Wolverine or Cyclops... not so much. But Generation X characters, or 90's X-Force and X-Factor. Bring it on! Considering some of them were depicted as teens during the 90's, that new Spider-Man buck could really work.

Yes, the new traditional looking Spider-Man is Ultimate Spidey Peter Parker. He's about 16-17 through most of his run. Miles is slightly younger but was generally drawn to be about the same size so no surprise that they are using the same buck for both.
As for the X characters, there are so few of them made right now that if all they do is main characters, each time we get an X wave it would be the same characters over and over again. |
going back to the X-characters, if a second wave is in the works, maybe for next year, the ones I can see Hasbro doing are:
Colossus, Nightcrawler, Psylocke (jim lee or other?), Storm (jim lee) Cyclops (Jim lee), Gambit (Jim Lee), Angel and Bishop or X-23, as the other A-lister X-Men that were not included in this wave. Though I really want to see other completely new figures made, and will posit that a new Banshee is absolutely needed, I can see them going this route to cover all the popular bases. |
so considering the new cap wave is now landing on ebay, that means that they should be in stores for all you northers and west coasters very soon, and that means us collectors down south will have another month or two until they drop here.....
Sometimes i hate living in south florida.... |

Secondly, what I was stating is that, if X waves start being produced with some regularity, having the same characters in every wave would become annoying for many long-term collectors. Sort of on the same level as the fact nearly every Avengers wave has Cap, Iron Man or both. In that case, yes, I would very much rather have an Anole than an umpteenth version of say Wolverine. Naturally not everyone will agree but I can speak from experience on this thread that most of us tend to groan when yet another Cap or Iron Man shows up in a wave. |

That does not mean though that people are not fans of other characters. And if we have wave after wave of the same characters it WILL get old. The first 2-3 waves maybe not, and it's almost a given that Hasbro will want to cover their bases, after they're done once, will that be ALL that people want to see? Also, just because Marvel Now is the now, it won't be forever. At some point it will be Marvel then. Just as many people have a sense of nostalgia for the Jim Lee or Byrne X-Men that's their right, if what you like is Marvel Now, that's great, you're right to. But the line and designs will move on to something else, and that will be the focus then. Focus, but it shouldn't be purely that. I think a throwback design is not a bad thing to include at times. Finally, I do not recommend begrudging people's want of non core characters. We all have our favorites, some are core and some are more obscure. It won't seem as logical to stick to core characters when a second tier character you want made hasn't been made because of the want of Hasbro to stick to only core characters. |
