Got him in the mail Thursday and aside from wishing he had bendy tentacles I love him. Takes me back to my childhood playing with my Toybiz X-Men.

Yeah sorry but I'm not too good at this sort of thing.

^ looks great, especially that wolverine. I loved those Xmen legends games. I think those got my niece into Xmen.

You've got to give us a close up of that Wolverine!

Thank you. The X-Men Legends games are some of my favorites and I'm still bummed they never made a third. Unless you want to count Marvel Ultimate Alliance I guess.

Done!

I like to think of it as a cross between Logan's uniform from the movies and Ultimate X-Men. It started I was trying to make a Wolverine from X2 but the "X" on his movie uniform's chest is impossible for me to do freehanded.

Let's see here:
the head is from the XMO comic Logan
the main body/upper arms is the XMO/MU Astonishing Wolverine
the legs are from the first Thor movie Loki (the one without the helmet that wasn't impossible to find) and some kneepads thrown of for looks
the lower arms are from Cap TWS Red Skull with the gold squares from the lower arms of said Astonishing Wolverine glued on
and the hands are from one of the XMO Logans but I forget which.

Currently I'm working on a similar Colossus to go with him because next to Wolverine and Cyclops he's my alltime favorite X-Man. I'll be sure to post some pics when I finish.

Thank you. I'm not really used to doing action shots since most of my figures stand all stoic but I used to love making Wolverine and Omega Red fight it out back in the day so I thought it'd be fun.

I might have to try my hand at making one of those

snake5289 04-04-2015 04:38 PM

Good luck to you and I'd love to see it when it's finished if you decide to.

Forgot to mention it but I also cut off the little elbow pad things from wave 1 Retaliation Snake Eyes and glued them on. I tried to make it look kind of tactical AND superheroey similar to how they had the uniforms in Ultimate X-Men.

rea1180 04-04-2015 05:34 PM

Finally found more than just wave 1 at retail. Beast, Bishop, Sandman. Sadly even with Bishop being my #1 want since MU started at over $14 dollars a figure I just couldn't justify any of them. That is one huge price hike, especially considering a big loss of articulation for most of them.

I was speaking with ukmu and he thought that I should post a pic that he saw in my photobucket that you all might appreciate! The playset is Dracula's Castle from the Van Helsing line from quite a while back...It works GREAT for 3.75"! The pics below are from a few years back. I use it for my Hydra/Sith HQ (In my universe, Hydra and the Sith are in league together)!!!

They need to make a new Blade figure so much it's ridiculous.

Wouldn't be too hard. Just take the Avengers Nick Fury pop on a new head and give him a sword. DONE. You're welcome Hasbro.

I've seen it done enough times by collectors that the fact they haven't done it yet themselves (or even thought of it) should be criminal.

DAMMIT I NEED TO BUILD UP THE MIDNIGHT SONS IN MU SCALE ALREADY!!!

kylactus 04-04-2015 09:04 PM

I still can't believe the only blade we've gotten is on that terrible Punisher buck. that freakish left hand is garbage.

Raf, is the only difference here the internal packaging? or are the variants pants grey also?

Same color, just the weapons and the figure's position.

the colour is just the flash..... at least, that is what I have read about this unicorn.

From what i understand raf, that was a mock up. Due to precieved damage control they reposistioned the knees.

That mock up will exist....usually three are mocked up for the decision making process along with meetings, focus groups, and production stills.

If they went into production and got numbered is a dfifferent story. Interessting to see if it does exist.

but yeah.... a new Blade would be nice snake! That stupid GIANT claw hand is annoying and those knees?!?!?!?

I wish hasbro would consider that more often, some of my figures have been super warped by the packaging poses (blackbolts legs on mine look like he just came out of the womb so as long as he doesn't cry we are good).

Thought I'd share my updated Hawkeye - new quiver and arrows.

Hawkeye was a Nick Fury with XM:OW Logan forearms, Steve Rogers hands, Ultimate Hawkeye neck scarf, Avengers Hawkeye bow and head, with some painted purple and silver.
The quiver was an old Luke Skywalker Yoda backpack, and the arrows were Clone Wars missiles with the ends cut off. I added some tape to the end and colour coded them to match the ends. The green, chunky one is a Hulkbuster arrow, yellows are Grapple hooks, purples are electric and blue with a line through it are normal arrows.
The back of the quiver has a purple arrow painted up it, and the rest was just a black.
