Goin on another toy run today. Wish me luck. Might pick up Ghost Rider and one of those Maisto scale chopper to go along with him. Might pick up a Mystique and/or Wrecker as well.
Edit: The Transformers figures stoppred coming in twist ties. Now where do I get my twist ties?

Optimus Vader 08-24-2011 12:09 PM

Good luck on the toy hunt. Just remember, if you only see Ironman figs it could be Mystique in disguise!

..those are coat hangers rodimus used, not twisties, but you can get packs of "better than trash bag quality" twisties at Home Depot or Lowes if you need them.

Tiberius 08-24-2011 12:14 PM

I need a big display table, well I have one...just has a lot of shit on it -.-

rodimus15 08-24-2011 12:16 PM

I just put twist ties on venom (I'v seen a couple arkers doing it) and god it is just too sick! to whoever came up with the idea, you sir are brilliant.

And When I don't see any FF 3-packs with the Invisible Woman taken out, it's probably cus Sue wants to show off her powers. It's not like anyone would reach in and take her or anything... :)

I'm going to say it was either Symbiote, Mastersock, or Tiberius. I consider these three great men MU geniuses.

ludovicotek is the Master of Dioramas.

Thanks optimus. You sir have made my day.

For the twist ties, definitely pick up some plasti dip. It makes the tendrils 10 times better.

Fun times with twist ties

Probably a dumb question but I was on BBTS and saw one of the items "Marvel Universe 3.75" 2011 Series 04 Revision 01" and I'm unsure if Revision means they're bringing them out again and they'll hit stores or if it's just the site are getting more of them to sell. Help me out here because I'm wanting to get myself a Hulk and he's in that wave!

Tiberius 08-24-2011 02:18 PM

This forum is so inspirational. Glad I am good at something =3. I'll try and get some really epic battle pics up at some point, got to do a lot of cleaning first :P

Disrup 08-24-2011 02:34 PM

Everyone awesome pics! This is making me want to open up my figures on card to display! Keep posting up more.

You have to really evaluate the situation. What is your reason for keeping them on the Card?

I have 2 figures on Card of Bluntman and Chronic from Kevin Smith's films... my main reason was that there were lots of small pieces that I didn't want to misplace. I now realise that I don't really want to sell them ever, and I could take them out if I want to. But some part of me wants to keep them on the card just because I have for the past 6 years.

All my MU figures get opened ASAP, and I love posing them etc. If I were a little less lazy I'd be putting my photoshop skills to good work and making cool pics etc, but as of yet I've not got a solid idea for an epic scene... Haha.

Optimus Vader 08-24-2011 03:36 PM

Inspirational is right! Everytime I see you fools set up some sick display or diorama I want to drop what I'm doing and go pose my figures.

Me at work..
"Oh, the server is down?... Well, I just saw a great picture online and have to go pose my X-Men on top of my Sentinel now, so go pound sand!"

That's a real Hasbro packaged case. After a "new" wave they usually mix in some of these revision waves that are really just a mix of older figs, but great for those who missed out the first time around. There's really no telling what our local stores are going to get, but they are real (not a BBTS thing).

EDIT- Revision cases also tend to bring us variants (dark red DD, X-Men Warpath, different-pants Thing).

Not sure why he does. But I prefer the way they look MOC. If I truly want to display them I buy a double.

Opening them up shouldn't be a question, they look ok in the packaging but they look uncanny out! you can put them in awesome poses and get your hands on them and feel and see the detail without hindrance. i guess i can appreciate the collecting aspect but they are toys, they were ment to be played with, and while playing at our age's consists of posing them and arranging them, that still doesn't change the fact that they are super hero's, they are ment to be set free, not packaged up like Han Solo

By the way, I have the ultimate diorama for you awesome scene builders out there, it'll take some customizing so Symboite i'm looking in your direction. it'll require a custom Shatterstar figure.

It's from the first set of X-Men cards that Impel ever put out, with all the artwork done by Jim Lee. It is, in my humble opinion, the best arrangement in a collector card series to date.

It would be a challenge, i'm not sure what you'd use for robots, and you wouldnt be able to get the poses exactly right, and you would have to use the X-Men Six pack Storm unless you wanted to make a custom to look the the 90's cartoon storm.

In any case, if someone could pull it off it would be amazing.

Tiberius 08-24-2011 05:11 PM

I am working on what I would hope will be an epic diorama. So excited to finish it and post pics!
