Here's a little Black Queen I put together. Been a while since I've customized anything.

Guys, I'm with Zoffy on this. I have caught 2 scalpers red handed at a Toys r Us and a Target, and they didn't look like the scalpers that were described. Why don't we leave the judging others off of this board, and stick to the toys, yes?

No problem! :D I myself am itching for a new comic book Nat, but damn Hasbro just won't put one out will they?! Once the new Silk figure arrives, I'm getting to work. She's got the slim, ballerina build, better articulation, so just going to put a decent head on her with the stingers/belt from ToyBiz Widow, and Bob's your uncle!

Its not really judging others...its that most, NOT ALL but most, toy scalpers fit a certain stereotype. Sure there are some who dress nice are clean shaven and know what soap and water is but in many areas its a certain type who fit the bill. It just so happened the ones i ran into fit the typical scalper reseller archetype.

Yeah, scalpers don't necessarily fit a stereotype. Again, only reason I ever know scalpers is by their actions and attitudes. Hell, the scalpers I've actually run into (and identified as such) are mostly clean-cut dudes. But when they've got a cart full of the same Sonic the Hedgehog two-pack, it's hard not to know what they're up to.

Looks fantastic! That's an expensive custom using that body.

Haha tell me about it. I had to proceed once I got the idea though. It's not exactly accurate to her appearance in the comics, but I thought of it as a more modern interpretation. They did a similar thing to Storm's costume a few years back, where it was reminiscent of her Giant-Size X-Men appearance, but with a black bodysuit underneath.

THIS. Cracks me up whenever I hear about encounters with scalpers... they don't necessarily wear ID badges or team shirts, so it's usually all assumption or collector paranoia.

No but its not hard to tell who they are.

Zoffy this ^......and this -------- > Also dont forget the sweaty pores, the dirty t-shirts and stressed out eyes. Also the guys with their salt n pepper ponytails and their prematurely senior citizen looking female companions.

Haha thanks. Only reason I ask is I've never really seen one, maybe once or twice but wasn't quite sure if they were collector's/hobbyists or scalpers, cause I usually go after work or weekends when I'm at the store running errands. Never during I suppose opening times when scalper's I take it are usually there...But to each their own.

The only times I've seen a scalper is after the fact at the local flea market. Who's to say if that guy with a cart full of new and sought after toys at the store is a scalper or just a seriously devoted buyer? That guy at the flea market though who charges $80 for a toy that was only $20 at retail and has multiple of them is definitely a freaking scalper. For me scalpers are more like a bogeyman character than an observable occurrence, they're something to blame when the pegs are missing of any and all wanted figures but you never really know. Except for evil price-gouger-guy at the flea market, screw him.

Seamus McSeamus 04-22-2016 12:33 PM

Scalpers are real. They're out there. Make sure never to invite one into your home, lest you fall under his power. Keep strings of garlic and some silver on your person at all times to repel them. Make sure you know the location of all nearby streams and rivers in case you need to flee, as scalpers can't cross them.

Augustus_Cole 04-22-2016 02:35 PM

okay...might be a stupid question but I'm ordering something so i needed to be sure...
ML 6" figures are referred to as 1/6th scale...right??
so i'd assume 1/12th scale is a 12 in figure..

??.

Any idea where to put Red Guardian? Not too familiar with the character. Thought about putting him with other Russian characters but then I realized the only other Russian I have in my collection is Black Widow (which would work if the two I had weren't with the comic book and movie Avengers) lol

Nice Black Queen! Wish the one we got at retail wasn't on that old Emma body.

A comic Widow is hopefully in the works. She's too popular/demanded not to release.

I'm pretty sure one of the Red Guardians fought alongside Captain America and the Defenders. If nothing else you could put him down defeated in front of a villain.

When the cart is full of multiples of the exact same toy, I think it's pretty clear which he is :D
