MU Galactus is definitely the superior of the 2 between his MU and ML, but ML Sentinel is definitely far superior to the MU one. Detail, articulation and weapons really help sell it.

Though really, if you can't afford the ML BAF sentinel or many of them, the MU one is nice and makes for a nice fleet to go with the BAF one as the lead.

Oh yeh, the ML sentinel is the better of the 2, but you struck the nail on the head, as most sentinels are in the $75-100 range on ebay + shipping so it's far from a cheap figure. From time to time I've seen sellers selling 2,3,4 etc sentinels in a lot and worked out cheaper then MU. MU is easily available and cheaper, but not by a lot. I'd personally love to have like 5-6 of them, but inorder for that to happen need more $ and more room.

behindthemask 01-30-2012 09:07 AM

I was looking at cc pics of the new waves of MU, and forget the character name but this guy's headsculpt if painted blue would make a spot on beast!

Is that why you had to sell it:P? A good Husband you are!

yeah. BIN. i didn't HAVE to sell it, but i did anyway. it'll help pay for the wife's bday dinner tonight.

it was the last of my MU MOC. i figured why not. i have an extra AA (loose) that I want to commission the "X-Force treatment" by a kick @ss artist.

i honestly thought i would always keep the card, but the longer i'm in this hobby, the easier it is to get over things and "let go."

Card/bubble packaging is really iconic and to see a company go that extra mile to put out giant, ridiculous figures in equally ridiculous packaging is fucking admirable. I have a lot of negative feelings toward Hasbro for cutting corners (constantly) but this is a step in the right direction to represent a conscience understanding of why toys/characters are so important in our lives. Nostalgia and quality, that is what keeps this habit going.

splendidly well written and acute.

evocative. thought provoking.

bravo.

I taught high school juniors/seniors. I'm also a writer, so I applaud good shit when I read it.

I'm sure your college papers are astute.

Like Compound Hulk was on HTS. Ok cool. Although hopefully I can hit one of the CC's up this year...

Whoa that's awesome. Looking forward to this, when is this wave slated to come out? Whoa not only Beast, but Nova as well. Sounds sick. Although not a surprise on the multiple Spider-Man variants:p
Hmm only 2 good CP's coming out though...which is great for my wallet!!

Looking at this list of 2012 MU figs makes me even more anxious to get past this weak Psylocke wave.

D00MTR0N 01-30-2012 12:51 PM

I might as well make a list of what I want from MU 2012 since I'm done doing work for the day.

Singles-
1) Psylocke
2) Beast (Astonishing)
3) Hulk
4) Kraven
5) Ult Spidey
6) Kang
7) Punisher
8) She-Hulk
9) Kang
10) Paper Bag Spidey
11) Jubilee
12) Hercules
13) Puck
14) Medusa
15) Professor X

15 figs @ $9 = $135 on MU singles

Comic Packs-
1) Sinister/Gambit
2) Antman/Moonknight

2 packs @ $18 ea = $36 on MU CP's

Masterworks-
1) Foom = $60

= $231 total

+ HOPEFULLY a MODOK GB set @ $30 (in case of inflation)

..and then I'm sure there will be a team pack or two that I'll need that hasn't been announced yet.

Dude you know it, haha all I can say is if it doesn't happen I'll make it happen, buy kitbashing the new beast with the head of Blastar and sculpting the rest. Reading glasses I could snag from ebay from a 1:18th scale doll kit, and the labcoat I'd try and find 1 off the ML beast or make it myself.

"man kang is the only one I am looking forward to".- Doomtroom

In response.... really?

lets examine the next 2 waves

Beast -(Astonishing X-Men) amazing sculpt and articulation
Beast -(Secret Avengers Variant) jim le styled?
Beta Ray Bill- not a fav character of mine at all, but looks well done
Hulk (Incredible)- looks fucking fantastic, not sure how the 2pack will be different
Kraven- all around solid figure can be used for spiderman displays or villian teamup
Ultimate Spider-Man- looks like mcfarlane spiderman, me likes
Ultimate Spider-Man (Variant) -no idea what'll be diff prob packaged or stand

next wave

Kang- looks amazing and a big villian for a lot of themes
Punisher III- looks to be the best 1 yet next to the 2pack version
Scarlet Witch- looks amazing, great for Avengers collectors
She-Hulk- a new great female mold and face sculpt looks bitching, she just needs some broken scraps of metal and she's set.
Spider-Man (Future Foundation)- will tie in with my ff set
Spider-Man (Peter Parker Variant) -headsculpts are always a plus
Spider-Man (Paper Bag Head Variant)- how can you not like this lol

next wave

Angel -amazing choice and the wings look mcfarlane grade
Angel (Variant) -possible xforce or blue suit variant
Jubilee -amazing sculpt overall and will be a nice add to my jim lee xmen
Hercules- another great figure for the Avengers collectors
Nighthawk- on the fence
Nova- fan favorite/wanted by a lot of collectors
Nova (Variant)- no idea but more nova isn't a bad thing
Puck-, can add him to guardian and assemble alpha flight, add Ml sasquatch

next
Black Knight- looks good
Karnak- meh
Medusa -meh
Professor X (Teaser) -everybody needs him and should want him!
Thor (Eric Masterson) & Thor Frog!- meh but awesome

There's no pictures of the variant. Where do they get their information? I bet you could pretty easily write that up anywhere...

Boba Fettuccini 01-30-2012 02:29 PM

I want paper bag spidey for lolz. He's probably gonna be rare as hens teeth though.

Curto tends to have "insider information" although some claim he doesn't. The variants listed have been up for months and he justed added the 2 packs a couple of days ago
