That Red Gaurdian figure would make a great Classic Swordsman repaint! Or an original Captain Marvel!

Startaiger 04-26-2016 04:44 AM

Am I the only one here to want a Michael Fassbender/Magneto figure?? Damnit, I could kill for a decent one, like a Figuarts or MAFEX, event a good ML would do.

I remember reading somewhere Fassbender said he would never sell his likeness for merchandise.

I think the rumor was July or so maybe. I really hate we haven't seen the BAF and other figure yet. Also def pre-ordering that wave.

I heard a rumor from a local toy shop, that the X-Men wave was going to be a Toys R Us Exclusive. Not sure if true or not, but that could potentially make this wave a nightmare to find.

I hope that's not true. I was lucky enough to order the full wave from Toys R Us' website, but I really don't want to go through all that again.

I'm sure that would have already been announced as an exclusive such as the Walmart and TRU 2 and 3 packs with Iron Man and War Machine, Falcon and Winter Soldier etc. I can't find it but I think Hasbro mentioned this would be the first X-Men wave that was sold to all retail.

Boy Blunder 04-26-2016 10:48 AM

Yeah, there's been NO evidence that the X-Men wave is a TRU exclusive. Hasbro would have said something at Toy Fair. They denoted all the other store-exclusive figures.

This rumor needs to go away, and quick.

Everything I've seen points to a 'Fall' release date, though 'Fall' is ambiguous enough that I bet we'll be seeing them mid-summer.

warmachine6 04-26-2016 10:56 AM

I thought initially you get figures out near the movie date or dvd\blu-ray release date , be great if its near movie release like civil war MLs are

AvengingArcher 04-26-2016 11:58 AM

I found the Giant Man wave at a local toy and collectible shop, ended up going with Nuke and Black Panther. I don't collect the movie figures typically, but Panther was too cool to pass up. I had been contemplating Nick Fury, but I just couldn't do it. I recently picked up the Toy Biz Fury, and there's just so much more life in that headsculpt.

Haha, sorry for breaking forum etiquette!

The only reason I was able to pick these guys up in person is because the shop I go to is basically a collector haven (I actually haven't had to order very many original Toy Biz ML's because I've found them in their shop), and they get ahold of stuff pretty early. They had 2 Caps, 1 Nuke, 1 Panther, and 1 Fury when I went in last night.

I get what you're saying though, but again...to each his own.

Gotcha but he is Not an Average Man. The Figure is a Joke for "Giant" Man. He should have been made like the Previous Giant Man.

I don't even know why that X-Men wave was exclusive anyway. I could understand if it was lesser known characters, the supply would far outnumber the demand otherwise, but this is the X-Men we're talking about. Most of the wave was full of A-list characters that either never got a Legends release, or haven't had a Legends release in years.

All I can guess is retailers said Puck, who's that? were not buying it. To us few toy nerds that's a great wave to the mass retail companies it's a gamble. Also I don't think ML was as big of a success as it is now. It was struggling with some of those waves in 2012-2013.

Oh wait we talking Jubilee wave? Oh yeah that is a headscratcher.

This next wave should blow the lid off sales and hopefully we get a bunch of new X-men waves next year.

TheBlueMarvel 04-26-2016 03:12 PM

The puck wave was exclusively earmarked for local comic book stores, if I remember correctly.

Kirathis 04-26-2016 09:28 PM

Hey Spyne, if you want some inspiration for your Zemo, check out Glenn Webb's YouTube channel. He went into some detail on making his own classic Zemo and it might give you some ideas.

On another note, I am getting transferred to KC and I have to say this packing experience has made me realize just how many figures I have. I think all my clothes will make it into two boxes and I already have at least 6 same sized boxes full of toys with a ton still to pack. Even my kitchen stuff will not take as many boxes heh.

But we're still not sure how big he gets in Civil War, for all we know the BAF could be perfectly in scale, and that's his maximum height cap in the movie :D There's actually a really interesting book called the Physics of Superheroes, and it explains that once Giant Man reached a height of over 16 feet (I think that was it, I don't have the book on me), his body would collapse under the weight of itself :D

Captain Nash 04-27-2016 06:44 AM

Pretty sure that X-Wave is not exclusive, like others said I'm sure they would have announced that at NYTF. I'm going to be pissed if it is though -that would be three in a row. Impetus for Disney/Marvel to say to Hasbro "well, you shouldn't make any X-figures because their sales numbers indicate they don't sell well." Yeah, that's because they are limited production and limited retail and hard as hell to find. Hoping so much this is the wave that turns this whole X-men Legends thing on its head. We need so much from that area of Marvel.

No, I get the joke about Arby's, I'm just wondering how Arby's is relevant to Giant Man (or size growing in general)
