Well, that makes it an even bigger find!
That Blade is pretty awful- but he's got a unique gun and sword, so that's bonus points, I suppose.

I forgot who did it but I thought that head swapping Blade and Luke Cage looks a lot better. That actually made me want to consider getting a Blade figure. I wasn't really interested in getting him before.

Boba Fettuccini 01-30-2012 09:55 PM

I watched the first Blade movie the other night and was pleasantly surprised... I'd like a figure of Blade, but the MU one DOES suck... I'd rather start ground up with a custom.

Jason Abbadon 01-30-2012 10:06 PM

The first Blade movie was awesome- it set the standard for action films- and the first movie to do that "bullett-time" slo-mo thing.
Totally revamped the character...no pun intended.

Boba Fettuccini 01-30-2012 10:27 PM

Really? I didn't know that. I was very fascinated at how good the action was, when superhero ovies made years later had reeeeeally campy action *cough*X-men/X2*cough*

Agreed.

Slayer Design Studio had a really nice movie head sculpt of Blade back in November. (They rotate stock from time to time, so not available now.) I don't have the MU figure, but it looks ... ok. I think the idea of a head swap is sadly inevitable. The figure has some cool features - the slit in the coat for the sword, and cool weapons. But the choices for wardrobe and head make less sense in terms of a classic figure. This version seems to be based on the anime version or the live action tv show, which are the least well known.

I made my own using a PoC Duke figure, Slayer head and X:O Sabertooth coat. It seems like it was 50/50 that Blade either wore the trench coat or wore his sleeveless armored vest. This allowed for both.

Nah man...John Woo was doing bullet time in the 80's...

Pretty much anything you see in American action films,he was doing in the 80's...

You want to see some Badass Action...

Hard Boiled
The Killer
A Better Tomorrow 1&2
Old Boy (Korean)
Fists of Legend
Fearless
Kiss of the Dragon
Any thing Bruce Lee
Brother Hood of the wolf
City of violence
Azumi 1&2
Infernal Affairs 1,2,3
Face off "97"
The replacement Killers "97"
Police Story
House of flying Daggers
Curse of the Golden Flower
7 swords
Storm Riders
IP Man 1,2
Once upon a time in China 1,2,3
Iron Monky
The proffessional
Rapid Fire
Showdown in little tokyo

Just to name a few....Hong kong Cinema is the best....Also added a couple other foreign productions that are awesome. And a sprinkle of American productions note worthy...

Now granted, some of these were not made before Blade's "98" release..But to say Blade set a standerd for action,is not very accurate...I loved Blade 1 & 2, but its all been done before..American movies IMO have never set the Bar for action movies..Sci-fi I would have to say yes they have, but action no...

Also I watch a lot of anime,so many American movies copy that also...

Sorry a bit off topic, just saying..:-)

Thanx! I love the Army Build, when I was little I only wanted pack of Foot Soldiers for my TMNT.

BTW I would totally buy a pack of army builders (not like the Toy R Us exclusive) I mean three action goons that are exactly the same.

DogFashionDisco 01-31-2012 07:32 AM

Blade 2 was bad ass.

Pics please. I like the idea of showing both the trench coat look or sleeveless armored vest look.

Posting deals like the 2 packs being at HTS should really go in the deals/in stock thread so we can all play along. :(

Well it's a big plus that Wesley Snipes is a seriously badass martial artist- makes all those fights so much better!

Fun fact- the main vampire guy in Blade 2 is the same actor that played Prince Naruda in Hellboy 3- that guy makes an awesome villian!

Damn. Now I gotta get/watch Blade 2- the only one I dont own for some reason.

Y'know, a bunch of my friends still dont know that Blade was around since the 70's in Marvel comics- they just take the movies for the awesome they are.

And yeah- I definitely want a Slayer Blade head- it was a great wesley Snipes likeness!
