Got mine in the mail a day early. I've had the NES version for a month or so now but I gotta say this one blows it out of the water. Hopefully they'll do something like this again in a couple of years for Batman Returns 25th anniversary.

Wonderful Toys 12-12-2014 09:11 AM

Has anyone who ordered from toysrus.com last Friday gotten theirs?

305Batman 12-12-2014 11:16 AM

I really hope Mattel is seeing how much money they're losing, hopefully they get their head out their ass and bring back the Movie Masters!

GeekSummit 12-12-2014 12:57 PM

So... I went to Toys R Us and picked up 3 of these. 2 for me incase one snaps and one for a friend...

Only last night I decided to pop in my disc and get down on some special features... and... I was sold 3 REGULAR 1 Disc Blue Ray sets (properly marked with the 25th anniversary blah blah bundle sticker) along with my figures.

So with all the selling out this figure has done over and over again have we been getting down-graded in the Bluray quality as they have become available over and over and just not noticed because we just want the figure?

I'm interested to know what other folks have run into out there.

The Toys R Us Blu-Ray is not the Diamond Luxe Version. Just a standard re-release of the last Blu-Ray.

Thsi was an update I posted a few days ago:

UPDATE:
NECA clarified that the Toy”R” US version will only include the standard Blu-Ray release. The Diamond Luxe Blu-Ray/Figure Combo was a Warner Bros. exclusive. Also, the figure is available now, despite what the NECA post claims. I spotted it and it was listed for $24.99.

GeekSummit 12-12-2014 02:57 PM

K... I just figured I'd skip digging line for line... I'm a bad surfer.

So to "correct this" they just dropped the price $5?

juggernaut209 12-13-2014 05:01 AM

I think they actually upped it back to $29.99. TRU. Does that sort of thing when they see items are popular.

I'm actually glad I picked up the blu ray. I have the DVD so I wasn't that interested, but the extras on the 25th Anny blu ray are pretty cool. There is a cool documentary with stan lee, geof johns, frank miller, etc. and a really cool storyboard sequence with robin that was cut that was voiced by mark hamill and kevin conroy. Make sure to snag the one with the bundle sticker if u can. I wish they would have left the robin sequence in the movie it looked really cool. Figure is great too, was gonna save it for a Christmas gift for my son but I let him have it early since he is sick. Some of the joints were stuck but I've loosened all of them xept getting his left knee to spin.

Wonderful Toys 12-15-2014 12:12 PM

OK I finally have the figure and it's fantastic in person, but moving the joints is horribly nerve wracking. Is the ab joint meant to twist around? I tried and I feel like it's on the verge of snapping if I put anymore pressure on it.

Edit: Never mind, I got it to twist.

Almost every NECA toy I buy has a joint or two that don't quite work the first day. Leaving it be and then coming back after hours have passed usually finds the figure cooperative.

He is available online again at ToysRUs.com. I ordered one last night and looks like he is still in stock this morning:

Batman: 25th Anniversary Blu-Ray with Action Figure - NECA - Toys "R" Us

Joe Moore 12-16-2014 07:30 AM

Finally got mine in. Sheesh. Little backlogged on galleries, so this one may have to wait until the weekend/next week.

TimothyR 12-16-2014 07:57 AM

i love this thing.

i ordered mine online.. the paint is all good except for his left eye..

so.. i figured i'd check out TRU.. well, i couldn't find a single one with perfect eyes, so i'm just going to fix it myself, it should be rather simple, so it's not a big deal.

i love that they were able to release this figure.

i would LOVE a nicholson joker, but i'm certainly not holding my breath.

i REALLY wish neca was able to do more with the burton movie batman figures. i'd like to see a batman returns suit, joker, catwoman, penguin, and a scaled version of the batmobile.

They've said they would love to do a 1/4 scale Nicholson Joker, but can't. Guessing Jack didn't authorize his likeness. Bummed about that.

ludovicotek 12-16-2014 08:57 AM

I ordered mine from the eBay store a couple weeks back. After reading about all the poor paint apps and crooked cowls I was worried. Well, it finally arrived a couple days ago and the figure is fine. No issues that I can tell through the window (I haven't opened it yet). I plan on watching the Bluray special features this weekend.

Phantomcrow 12-16-2014 12:28 PM

Hastings has put up a listing as well.

Batman Blu-ray with Action Figure - goHastings

GeekSummit 12-16-2014 02:20 PM

Mine landed yesterday... Unfortunately they shorted my order. I went for the Max of 5 and they sent me 2. Called up today and 3 more are on the way. Hopefully they don't cram these like they did the first 2. I love the deflated air pockets... nice touch.

CrockAlley 12-22-2014 08:34 PM

Picked one up today. It snapped right in half. I'm bummed. Why do they have to be so delicate?

Because they're adult-aimed figures. It sucks that they break at all, but the goal is looks over play. This is why Funko and DCC also have a lot of stuff that breaks, you have get to the pricier stuff (over $40) for these companies to make stuff that is more frequently solid.

Dr Kain 12-22-2014 10:17 PM

Has anyone seen these yet at their TRU? Mine said they aren't expecting them until sometime after their Jan reset.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the collector stuff being more frail, but it bums me out. Why do frozen joints even exist? How can a simple ball joint go so wrong? I've got a lot of Neca stuff, and 90% of it is fine, but heck, it's frustrating when I get a snapped joint or a mis-fired pin. Sorry, I just have to vent. :BlaBla

Just about every TRU in the Philly are has had them. As of last weekend, they were still available at the ones I've stopped by.

Most of the figure looks great until you get to the fine details of sloppy paint apps.

The close up macro lens usually amplifies that stuff. Looking at it normally is much less noticeable.
