Forgot to post these when I bought the figure but here is a comparison between the 5 pack Poison Ivy and the single figure release (original on the right & re-release on left). You can see they used different shades of green on the re-release
Not sure if any of the others (Bane, Killer Croc & Mr Freeze) had any differences |
Anyone planning to get the new Red Hood & Azrael figures? They are listed to come out in the next couple of weeks
|
Got my Pile of Loot from BBTS and among the figures included was the Adventures Continue BTAS Batman.
https://i.imgur.com/Ytb6ebl.jpg First and foremost, the figure does not use the articulated chest or fabric cape that was used on the Batcycle Batman figure and was shown in some of the solicitation pictures. However, the figure does use the new articulated legs from the Batcycle Batman which includes ball jointed hips, double jointed knees, and boot swivels. The new hips in particular allow the figure to kick it's leg up higher than the original. https://i.imgur.com/fvrCORK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wFAg98M.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Eimc1xd.jpg https://i.imgur.com/KyTnvUS.jpg?1 Aside from the new cel shading on the suit, the biggest paint changes are on the face. The eyes are fully painted this time, making them look larger. The skin is also painted and there is a thin, black line to keep the mouth visible. The grey suit and the yellow used for the belt and bat symbol are also darker on this new release. https://i.imgur.com/X9XoG4R.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PZ5zJxL.jpg Overall, the new figure is an improvement over the original but not leaps and bounds better. The cel shading is cool but the real reason to pick this figure up, in my opinion at least, is for the improved leg articulation and paint work on the face. Everything else about the figure is the same. As of right now, the only re-releases I'm planning on getting are the Joker (for the new head), Catwoman (for the unmasked head), and The New Batman Adventures Batman (my original release broke at the ankle). https://i.imgur.com/PHXxZ8g.jpg |

The BTAC Batman has some cell shading on the top of the the head, in between the bat ears. If you wanted to use it, you’d need to paint over the cel shading.
I’ve never tried removing the head but it should be the same as the original. |
Someones posted a review of the animated Red Hood fig
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfrTr0GOtUU And Adventure Continues Batman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9a4rpVvNlM Honestly I might give this one a skip, it looks like the Batcycle version might be the best one of the various Animated Batman's they have released due to having the ab crunch and cloth cape |
Sigh, all my pre-orders at Forbidden Planet UK have been cancelled due to the DC/Diamond split
Really hoping DC find some way to get these figures out to collectors in the UK! EDIT - looks like they have now been relisted so hopefully it was a temporary glitch! EDIT 2 - Nope they have all been de-listed again  |

If anyone has picked up the new Justice League Hawkgirl and was pissed that she doesn't come with her trademark mace, Boss Fight Studio makes one for their Vitruvian HACKS figures that scales perfectly and looks great. She holds it pretty well, too. You can find 'em loose (and cheap) on ebay.

For those in the UK Forbidden Planet has the Justice League Animated figs in stock now
No word on if they are getting the other Batman animated figures though |

Update: never mind, used a little soap and was able to get the wings in. |
I've heard a rumor that due to DC Direct closing some of the later figures like Catwoman 2.0, Batman Who Laughs & Vampire Batman have been cancelled
Does anyone know if this is true? |

I finally managed to get a Red Hood & Azrael from BBTS after my pre-orders were cancelled - both are really cool figures! Need to get Deathstroke & DKR Batman still |

Picked up Superman at my LCS yesterday, I had managed to get the Lois Lane figure from the 2 pack a few years ago but not him
Is the JL Superman the exact same as the S:TAS Superman? I've heard some mixed reviews on the JL figures (mainly re: joints and plastic used), are they worth getting? |

Talia, Ivy and Killer Croc are next. Hawkgirl and John Stewart are my least favorite. Hawkgirl needs accessories. |
