The trick is to enter 99999 (or probably any number greater than 5000) into the quantity field and hit "add to cart". A red bar will pop up and tell you the number on how many it's possible to add. It's a trick I learned on the old Graphitti Designs website.

Wow, that's a great trick. I'll have to use that one day.

I got one today! I was trying to play it cool with my wife last night like I didn't care about it that much, but today I was all fired up about getting a set.

Congrats to everyone who got what they wanted today and good luck tomorrow for the ones who didn't.

Got one. Love this set.

out of curiosity I just tried this on the Hawkins figure and it said I could only add 207 to my cart.

Comedian 06-07-2018 10:14 AM

How are people getting these?

Gone again in a minute. I was lightning fast logged into everything and still out of my cart by 1:02.

Randy. You know darn well you could have done 10,000 of these. You are not making friends with this crap. I had an easier time with Matty than this. And by the looks of this, they go right to ebay. Limit should have been 1 set period. Boxed or playset. Only one set.

I don't want to hear the only Sdcc crowd should get this. I live 3,000 miles away. I have been buying Neca products from the very beginning all the way back to those crap beetlejuice figures. So don't tell me that only comic con fans deserve this.

You guys are really killing this hobby way faster than it should be.

Just my thoughts, the fact no one even carries Neca anymore, and now their online store only caiters to the eBay crowd. I'm losing the fun in collecting and following randy and the Neca team. Super7 at least gives preorders, hasbro has other versions for sale and Mattel is always easy to get a hold of.

Tired of the snarkyness from many and the be lucky we even made some for ebay at all attitude I see.

Getting close to done.

Congrats! Now sit back and add the tears of those “cheated” to your martinis!

I only feel sorry for Neca. They spell it out in the FAQS, on Facebook, and several articles about WHY the tmnt sets are so difficult to obtain, and people still ignore it in favor of ridiculous Alex Jones/Glenn Beck style conspiracies.

I pretended to order... got through TWICE without “sold out” notices. As explained a million times, they CANT make 10,000. Playmates, who controls the master license for tmnt. They don’t just have a license, they OWN it (part of the deal they made in 80’s), so not only does Neca have to negotiate with Nickelodeon, they also probably have to negotiate with Playmates to not crush them.

Nobody... not internet, not sdcc attendees... nobody is entitled to these. They are collectibles to be won by their very nature. The collectibles community is capitalism... those with money or work the system get the spoils.

Joe Moore 06-07-2018 10:25 AM

A lot of the people I see able to snag this stuff are using auto-fill for their info and/or copying and pasting their CC info from notepad and such. If you're typing stuff out, unfortunately you've already lost.

Comedian 06-07-2018 10:27 AM

I don't feel sorry for them. If they are so hard to get, make them 1 set per person. How is angering a dwindling fan base good for the future?

If they are so hard to obtain, why are so many on eBay? They could have done many different things to get this into more hands. They chose they rare route to create buzz. Toyguru did it now randy is toying toy. I have been here way before the mcfarlane days...I get how this works. But when you can only sell this item for the convention. They need to step up production and limit to 1.

What really kills me,is my order shipping amount from my failed attempt yesterday was still in
my cart, that updating delayed about 20 seconds. Get a better system,Neca. This one needs work.

That’s how I’ve done it. Used my iPad Pro and checked out in literally 6 seconds.

Alucard1138 06-07-2018 10:34 AM

It's busy season at my job right now, I've not had a day off of work in over 40 days, and completely spaced on the time today. Logged in at 10:13 and both TMNT sets were sold out. But, I was able to get Hawkins, which was quickly unavailable yesterday. So I'm happy to have at least gotten him. Hoping I can somehow grab one of the TMNT sets tomorrow but I won't hold my breath. I got the TMNT Neca SDCC 2017 set so I'm still happy about that.

Because those who are angry get over it and move on. Either they go without or get it elsewhere. There are tons on eBay because online dealers have wives, friends, neighbors, etc all spamming to buy sets. I used to know a comicbook store owner who would pay for his family, friends, and employees to go down to comic cons just to get the limited editions or signatures and he’d make $$$$ on it. And that’s totally fair, because he paid for those, so whatever he does with them is up to him. 1 per wouldn’t stop people like him. The Ticketmaster type systems are EXPENSIVE to run and not useful for their site 362 days of the year.

Between that, Chrome and Firefox auto-fill and there's goes your sets in just a few seconds.

Unless your Internet connection is slow because you live in a rural area... :(
I had everything filled out, just the loading screen killed it and gave me the sold out while in cart message.
I used both laptop wired to dsl and verizon mobile data on galaxy s7 and tablet.

Ok,so no 10,000...but 7,000 is ok? Fine. Then again limit to 1 set per household. That would double the time. I get this will not be easy, but it shouldn't be this hard. I have been through this with other companies but Neca is by far the worst.

I have no theories or paranoia but with this type of small release that is hindered by playmates they need way more out of the box thinking here. In know way do I feel entitled to this product but my toy room filled with 10,000k of Neca stuff says I get to give my opinion.

And my question, the people that miss out and get mad vs. the tons of these on eBay now....what is more important to Neca. The long term fan seems to be the one that should be top priority. The fans that bought from toysrus and now will buy no more seem to be an issue worth addressing.

Long term,Neca can't just sell 7,000 of something once a year and call it a day. They need to expand. Ticking of a huge chuck of the fan base seems to be a pour way to expand. Perhaps no run of these is better than the small run.

graphyt 06-07-2018 10:40 AM

I'm pretty quick as typing but yeah, I made an account after my snafu yesterday just to have as much stuff filled out in advance. Plus the normal auto fill stuff that spartan stores.

Got a little over excited and thought I lost it but was able to get through the checkout by 1:01. Went back to the store and it said "9 available" but by the time I clicked the button was sold out.

Yesterday, I had left the tab open, and it suddenly said "2 available" I'd recommend sticking around and refreshing the page for like 15-20 minutes. They have an automated system that hits blatant stuff so a few buys get reversed and pops up.

I feel bad for NECA, there's obviously a collector adult demand for this product that doesn't overlap with Playmate's market. And yet they've gotta jump through all these hoops that's guaranteed to leave some people soured. That all said, they've been steadily improving the process. Last year was semi-smooth but they're handling the bandwith better than ever now.

I get your thoughts and really agree to a point. But with making toys from movies that are 30 years old, they are directing their product to 30-40 year olds. That logic should be used in the store format. And no they don't move on. That's why masters of the universe was thrown out by Mattel. They lost over half of their customers due to way less than this. Neca can't afford a loss of half its customers.

Its not a question of 'expand' is a question of not being put out of business by the TMNT Toy owner Playmates for violating contract and being sued into oblivion.

7000 is the number playmates allowed, which is more than allowed for the cartoon set last year. Neca said if they had their way, they’d make a set for every man, woman, and child. 1 per would STILL would be farmed by scalpers, and you’d still be complaining. There are thousands of scalpers upset they only got one or two.

These conventions are a drop in the bucket for Neca sales. I’ve been in the collectibles world since I was a child, and I know that collectors loyalty is a fickle thing. They will swear off a company forever, but be right back the second there is something they want. I bet that 4/5 of the angry mob that is swearing off Neca will be right there buying Neca product again in 6 months.

Small run is great. I’ve wanted movie turtles since I was a kid, and was never satisfied with playmates gummy movie line. In July, I’ll have the figures I’ve always wanted. 7000 others will too. Unfortunately the rest will have to learn to live without. Sorry, but that’s the harsh, cruel world of collectibles.

Agreed. Sadly many are being priced out of toys. I was with sideshow items. And agreed many will keep coming back. What scares me is when they don't. Happened with ghostbusters, masters of the universe and just about every D.C.c Item. Neca is the last hope fire many of my wants. But again at the risk of losing to much of the collecting base,I would rather they wait out playmates.

Motuc had tons of issues, ranging from shipping charges, production delays, and price hikes among a few. It’s apples to oranges, plus Mattel OWNED he-man, so it was really their own fault they couldn’t maximize the brand. They outsourced the brand to super7 which seems to be the better plan.

Neca doesn’t own tmnt. They have to capitulate to the owners, Neca also won’t lose 1/2 of its customers. Most of their customers aren’t even interested in tmnt. They have a diversified portfolio of horror icons, alien, video games, and other lines. A few thousand tmnt is nothing in the grand scheme, and again, most people can rationalize the limitations of a limited edition product.

That’s why I never got into Hot Toys. They look fantastic, but it’s so hard to get at launch because they sell out so quickly. I accept that. I collect what I can. I don’t fault Hot Toys for not making a billion avenger sets.

My question to you would be, how does NECA verify who is a long term fan and who is a scalper? Do an online poll? Get the names of everyone interested in a set and run background checks? Get the CIA to vet them thoroughly? There's just no way for NECA to control who buys it. Scalpers will scalp even if the limit is 1.

Can’t. I read it in a financial article back when Viacom bought tmnt that Playmates has a rare deal when it comes to tmnt. They didn’t buy limited toy rights requiring frequent renewals (like playmates had with star trek). They bought ALL rights, as well as future first options, to all toys based on tmnt, and must be consulted with any other toy related deals involving tmnt (tmnt mega blocks, Neca collectibles, etc). So unless Playmates sells the rights, they will always be involved with tmnt.

There is a Neca security compound here in Utah, with a server farm researching the identities of all who access the site via their phone cameras or Alexa devices. Think Alex Jones talked about that a week ago. ;)

VashTS 06-07-2018 11:37 AM

I lost out also. I have no idea how the scalpers do it so fast. I refreshed and by the time I am ready to check out, it is sold out. Shame.

Welp, seeing those a-holes on ebay charging 400 dollars plus means I will be without them. I don't pay scalper prices period. It's how you stay wealthy or at least well off. NEVER PAY A SCALPER and in the end it's just a toy I want very badly but one of many things I cannot have.
