I've seen most Target restocks of Neca on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

Bo Ttef 07-16-2020 12:36 PM

lol- everyone screaming at Walmart for the nightmare release of Casey and Raph... Target steps up; "hold my beer" lol.

Sadly what do they both have in common. NECA....the guy at Target really made me think it's all on NECA and they are just trying to keep up. If Target can't track the orders because NECA doesn't provide the exact information. Who's fault is it in the end? Neca has their own seperate shipping from Target. How could Target be at fault. If NECA says we have lots of pre-orders, Target says okay, then NECA says oh sorry we don't have any the day we promised, Target is like okay so I just end it on our site, NECA says yeah because they are in control as the third party seller.

That sums up every neca turtle thread. Think it can’t get worse, boom. This has got to be intentional. All I figure is neca is trying to say to the powers that be, “ we need these wide released online at stores like Dorkside, bbts, EE and so on.” Can you imagine, just preordering all these sets. Enjoying them when they show up. Taking pictures of them, watching the toon and movie while playing with your kids..... no, take your chances at retail or the 32 seconds they are up online. Be glad we made them at all.

Neca should just sell eBay gift cards on their site. At least then we’d get something.

rismo 07-16-2020 01:05 PM

You can get these all online at Zavvi's UK site right now. If you don't mind paying $10USD extra per figure (far less than any scalper will offer) Zavvi has these and all the other NECA Turtle stuff including the Walmart Casey Raph set on pre-order right now and they're marked down (from apparent regular mark up of $75) to $59.99 for the two-packs and $39.99 for Metalhead. They ship from the UK to the US for $10. Make sure you visit the UK Zavvi and not us.zavvi or you won't see them.

Alucard1138 07-16-2020 01:07 PM

Like most here, the last few rounds of NECA offerings have been impossibly frustrating to try and get. To the point where I already knew any attempts I made would be in vain so I didn't even bother today.

Instead of all the grief or paying scalpers prices for these, I'm putting the money I would have spent on these sets towards vintage GI Joes, vintage Star Wars, ect. Can't get new figures then I'll get old ones!

They have an Amazon account, they should just use that! XD These figures are starting to remind me more and more of controversy and the not so fun times. :(

The total was $68 for Metalhead. You have to convert pounds to usd. It's basically ebay already

Right, it's definitely more than a $10 markup. Still better than what scalpers on eBay will offer tbh.

You can browse the site in USD (setting at the top). Metalhead is $39.99 + shipping $9.99 and tax $2.90. Total to pay: $52.88. Ebay has skyrocketed past that. Plus if you’re buying multiple figures like Casey, April, the other turtles, shipping stays $9.99.

I don’t work for Zavvi or anything. I just don’t appreciate misinformation or the headache of these releases. I paid the $10 extra for each figure for the peace of mind.

I'm not sure this is true.

I got basically all of the Wave 1 two packs for about $60-65 on eBay and for a while was buying every Foot Soldier that was around $30 (I ended up with nine).

My guess is that April will be around $40 at most within a month of release.

mortcrimpjr 07-16-2020 02:45 PM

Can you get them at that price now? No, of course not. All the two packs are rising by 10-15 each month. But whatever, do what you wanna do.

You might wanna check your receipt then because I can guarantee you're not paying that much in USD.

What am I missing?

Spooked 07-16-2020 03:20 PM

Yeah. I'm staying well away from Zavvi. Not worth the headache.

Okay I see how you are getting that now and I apologize if I came off punchy, however, if you follow the steps in my screenshot, you’ll be charged in USD. My order went through as USD. I have made the mistake in the past of checking out on their site with my currency set as GBP and was charged the converted GBDtoUSD rate. Perhaps it is either a glitch or because they do actually have a US presence that they show USD prices that we should be paying (although slightly marked up to an inflated msrp and then “discounted” to higher than US msrp). Either way, I’ve ordered from them before and it’s legit. The only real downside besides the inflated msrp is that these figures won’t ship for a few months.

I hope this is helpful to anyone frustrated with the hunt for these figures and the outrageous secondary market pricing.

We feel your pain & are equally frustrated that inventory is lasting mere seconds. The amount allocated was increased significantly over previous releases like R&B. We are fighting for a better solution & more options for the consumer. Please be patient. 🙏🏻

The same thing we keep hearing and hearing....I went to the 3 Targets again tonight to see if the 2nd shipments came in...
FYI, calling Target is not an option, at least in LA, anymore. It always says, "...because of high call volume, employees are unable to do inventory check over the phone."
I found nothing, was told there were no plans to get anything, all of LA, literally! ALL OF LA had nothing and had no plans for anything to come in. I talked to at least 15 employees throughout the day and they all said the same thing and showed me the computers/phones.
I kept having to say, "I'm sorry but could you double check this and that, I can't believe that company(NECA) would send people out to the store after everything that's happened. It should be here I promise." I show them the flyer and the pictures and everything and the employee would have any number of explanations. I heard "Oh" a lot. The last guy I talked to tonight said "Sorry they are weird" He actually said that.
I felt bad being so pushy all day but I had to be. I had to ask everybody multiple times to check the back or to be sure about everything. NECA promised us today was it so if I wasn't pushy then I'd look like I didn't try hard enough because, inevitably, some random person will post something on twitter about finding it in the back, NECA will retweet it, like, "SEE??? SEE???". NECA is consistently baiting all of us like that and it's unfair...The baiting is a huge problem. The underhanded subtle tweets & retweets of one person finding something as if to prove to everybody that it's out there and we are all crazy. You put 3 needles in a hay stack. Make it seem like there are a 1000 in there so everybody wastes way too much time. Then in the end it's the persons fault for wasting time, not NECA. I should have kept better track of the evidence because it's all the time. Digs at the people complaining in LA like we are exaggerating. ETC.
Too much, gone too far, it's unfair. From beginning to end it's a terrible experience. It's not an isolated incident. It's been going on so long now. I'm tired of it.

While I agree wholeheartedly that people need to have patience, but there is such a thing as patience wearing thin and it's more than just a mere coincidence that the majority of people collecting NECA's TMNT line have had nothing but complaints. It's not to say that other companies don't have problems, they do, and it's not to say that some people even in this nightmare have had an incredibly smooth experience, but the fact remains that NECA has had a problem that at best they do a poor job of addressing or at worse seemingly don't address at all and somehow make worse.

NECA's current pinned tweet is one of the rare examples as of late where they are at least sympathizing with customers, which is how it should be done. And even though Randy is not the spokesperson or the owner of NECA, he is effectively the mouthpiece of the company so when you get his snarky responses it feels like it's coming from NECA directly not just Randy Director of Product Development. It's never a good look to respond this way especially when all you have to show for it is three arguably botched releases of products people want, but seemingly can't get.

I've done the Target runs, staked out Walmarts, wasted my hours before work, during my lunch break, and after work. I've bugged employees who looked at me crosseyed like I was the one who didn't know what I was talking about or that they've never heard of NECA, or that I was looking in the wrong section etc. I came up empty handed in nearly all of those experiences with a few exceptions. If I or the people in this thread or the people on NECA's twitter or Facebook pages were the only ones with these experiences, but the fact that remains no matter where you go wen you talk about NECA Turtles you get a lot of negativity and bad experiences period.

NECA will always be my favorite company, they have some of the best sculptors around, I have patience for days and whether or not I get them at the end of the day they are just toys and life will go on. I 'm sure in time enough people will get what they want without having to resort to drastic means, But at the end of the day NECA and I really should say Randy's response to this has been abysmal and at this point it i's more than just a valid criticism it's becoming more of a fact every day.

Here's to hoping they live up to their latest response.

nothingtogein 07-17-2020 05:27 AM

The ship it button is back on the casey jones/foot soldier but still not letting you add to cart.

What I don't understand about this whole process is that Target has a track record of doing (mostly) successful funko drops at precise times with far higher demand than these turtles. The infrastructure is there, so why can't it be leveraged?

I actually can’t post links here since my forum account is so new and still restricted. But if you go to zavvi’s site with www as the subdomain and NOT us.zavvi then search for Neca Turtles, you’ll be shown all the good stuff that’s hard to get.

Once there click the flag and currency at the top to set your stuff to Ship to US, Region to UK, and Currency to USD. Your region has to be UK in order to see the products, otherwise they disappear.

I duplicated this in an incognito browser to make sure my login and stuff wasn’t throwing things off and it worked how it should.

Best of luck!
