Looks okay but id rather have had bleeze and rankorr before this chud.

Designincase 04-26-2022 12:00 PM

Ill be honest, Atrocitus makes me want to get some red starbursts.

This seems like a BAF I might go after by getting Batman. Though really, I feel like this could succeed all on it's own. Especially since that leaked list implies additional BN figures.

You say you dont understand... then you immediately answer why people want DC figure in 6 in scale... we want to put Batman and Captain America together without Batman looking like the Hulk...

That ship has sailed, and you can always buy Mattel's line if you have such a hard on for 6-inch figures.

I caught the tail end of the Mattel line... You would have to be completely out-of-touch to not think there will eventually be another 6in DC line at some point.

I'm sure many of us still do. or the even older lines.

I did not claim that there won't be another 6-inch DC line. In fact, McF makes one (Batman 66). Other people are buying McF's 7-inch figures. You are more than welcome to keep waiting -- but please stop whining about matching Batman with Captain America.

All the more reason 6-inch lovers should stop whining.

IzzyTipsy 04-26-2022 12:51 PM

I'll wait for the inevitable single or double pack "variant" Atrocitus.

Should really have saved him for a Red Lantern themed wave - Bleeze, Rankorr, Supergirl, etc. The BAF here totally needed to be Nekron. I don't think I want this wave unless I know we'll be getting Nekron, Black hand, etc.

I've been shocked by how much McFarlane sabotages his own business. The best BAF, King Shark, was made available as a single release with extra accessories, so there's no need to get the complete Suicide Squad wave (either singles or the big box set) unless you actually wanted all of them. The Batman Beyond box set is cheaper than buying the singles ($80 vs $100).

I kinda wish he went back to making Build a Batmobiles instead. I like the one from Batgirl/Nightwing/Batman Who Laughs so much that I have two of them. :D

Then buy that 6 inch batman 1966 figure if the scale upsets you so much. You have the right to complain about size differences between two different toy lines but at the end of the day, dc multiverse figures are still at the 7 inch scale and many people will still buy them.

I'd rather focus on other things like collecting the toys that i want than complain all day about the scale or wait forever until the dc multiverse scale changes to 6 inch.

BAFs are tricky, I think the only reason companies still do them is because retailers like the figures to promote a "gotta buy 'em all" mentality, but I think McFarlane and sometimes Hasbro just do the "deluxe" type releases because they know a lot of collectors want these big figures but aren't going to buy a whole set anymore just to get them.

The building something that isn't a figure BAF model is under used, though, more stuff like the Batmobile would be nice to see.

Truwe 04-27-2022 07:56 AM

No trigger finger hands for Superman!!!! Easy pass.

All jokes aside, I might actually have to pick up the Deathstorm and Atrocitus (off ebay). Solid figures. Might see if I can shrink Deathstorm down to 6 inch.

RamenRider 04-27-2022 08:22 AM

Atrocitus looks great. Not interested in the figures needed to get him though, but thankfully McFarlane does offer the BAF's separately sometimes, I'll wait and see.

Hoping to see more Red Lanterns though, they have fun designs that work well as toys.

Designincase 04-27-2022 08:59 AM

Reminder that Amazon tends to put up listings early and can be a bit late to activating them.

Kyler Rayner: I don't why I thought the torso one one piece. The sword is perfectly covering the fold. I still dislike the whole top ab overlay. They could have the room for ab crunch by just dropping it. I don't feel it preserves the illusion like they think it does.

That said, I think Kyle might have the best chest sculpt in the line. The lantern and sword are fine accessories. But the lack of matching pairs of hands is still silly. He should have two closed fists and two open hands.

Batman: Is clearly all sculpt. His face is just hideous an I love it. It's a tad annoying how some of these Batman would be perfect as a normal figure but we never get just a regular Batman without strings attached.

Deathstorm: Same deal as Kyle. Great sculpt but we need matching pairs of hands. Also some energy blast effects would have been appreciated. Might go in there an add some white and blue to the flame.

Superman: I think the S looks way too wonky. It's really small and gummy. The comic the character really had a wide upper chest. Also they missed the grey on the sides. But great face though.

Atrocitus could have been his own figure. This feels like a great BAF set because none of them feel lazy. Like John Stewart did not need to be in the Endless Winter wave at all.........when Aquaman is right there.

The only downside is it's another Batman/Superman without Powergirl and co in the line to support them(or the other way around).

My guess is the retail stores like Target/Walmart didn't want to carry the figure and this was the only way to get it out.

Really the only complaint I have is the lack of matching pairs of hands. It's nice to see not one bit of side eye.

warmachine6 04-27-2022 10:44 AM

Great so kyle will look like a sore thumb next to my John and Hal... I wish he kept the same colours for them... Maybe he'll do another one in the future...
