Play arts Kai Black widow

No matter how much I love this figure her chest just looks ridiculous, I can try to chalk it up to armor plating but deep down I know they just threw anatomy out the window when designed poor Natasha.

What's wrong with the chest? Throwing anatomy out the window is just part of designing female comic characters in general, but the Japanese have turned that into an art form!

Besides that, I love Play Arts Kai figures, but I just can't afford them. I have a few knock-offs, because I just really like their designs.

I’m somewhat of a feminist so that should answer your question lol.

And the play arts Kai figures are amazing and while the chest are big they do a fantastic job of sculpting non anorexic, strong looking females.
I find myself loving everything they make for dc and marvel (minus the Tetsuya Nomura catwoman), but if I had to recommend one specifically it would be poison Ivy, but I doubt your wife would appreciate her so I’ll just say hawkman.
He looks really attrac… I mean awesome on display with his huge muscl… mace, I meant mace I swear.

The prices are way too high so I only own six, but I actually found the variant Wonder Woman on Mercari a few days ago for only 25$ so soon it will be seven

Cyclopswc 06-28-2022 08:16 AM

My wife would be fine with the PAK Poison Ivy, she understands a lot of the comic and fantasy designed women are not necessarily conservative in the way they dress :) And Poison Ivy as a character has a sultry personality, so her look and design does fit. PAK Poison Ivy is gorgeous, but I just can't afford her.

I completely agree about ivy, she is seductive so she can get close enough for her pheromones to take control or so she can plant a toxic kiss, therefore scanty clothing suits her in a way that is not pervy.
Plus she isn’t concerned for human affairs and what they think so I doubt she puts much effort into modesty.

And wow your wife’s level of trust and understanding is impressive, personally I didn’t understand what people saw in exaggerated figures, statues, etc until I saw PAK Hawkman and Ikemen Batman but let’s not focus on that.

Play arts Kai Arkham knight Batgirl

This figure is amazing, she has realistic proportions, a great paint job, and thigh cuts wich I have never seen on a pak figure before.
My only complaint is the cape looks stiff and awkward in most action poses, so if the poses I put her in for the pics look awful that’s why.

Play arts Kai Wonder Woman

This figure is great in so many ways. And while her breast are exaggerated the musculature makes them look less ridiculous and allows me to turn a blind eye.
Wonder Woman has a strong albeit curvy sculpt and a gorgeous portrait that is complimented by her beautiful flowing hair.

I bought her used on Mercari for 25$ and although she didn’t have any of her bonus hands it’s easy to find poses that work with the ones she is stuck with.

Ooh, Batgirl PAK looks great! I skipped that one back then because had so many PO's coming due and I already had the variant one. But, I do like this rendition of the suit. WW Looks great too, I own that one but never got around to taking photos of it. Got to do that sometime :D My only gripe with that figure is that she should come with a sword. I would like to give her my Supergirl's sword, but WW hand peg is too big to fit the Supergirl hand.

I had the variant not long ago and had to choose between selling her or the Arkham one, the only reason I didn’t choose the Arkham one is because she has thigh cuts lol.

And I had the same thought about her needing a sword, why would they give batgirl and supergirl a sword but not Diana?

Cyclopswc 06-30-2022 07:30 AM

NICE PAK female figures! I found it very strange that Supergirl would have a sword. Did she ever have a sword in any comics/tv/movie? Or was that strictly a PAK design? Seems unnecessary for someone as powerful as Supergirl.

WW is powerful too, but she's an Amazonian warrior, sword and shield fits.

I only found one time Kara has ever used a sword in the comics.

I love the first three volumes of the new 52 Batwoman and that isn’t just because the plot includes so many of my favorite myths and urban legends like Medusa, Bloody Mary, and La Llorona.

It’s kind of odd how different Batwoman is nowadays seeing as she used to wear yellow and was introduced as a love interest for Batman because of many people believing Batman and Robin had more than a working relationship and where turning kids gay back in the ever so paranoid 50’s, also her name used to be Kathy so there is that too.

I’m hoping for a Batwoman and Tim Drake Robin comic series, it’s a better time than ever now that Tim found his way out of the bat-closet.

This is probably the second best statue that has came from the Diamond gallery line, the first being their classic black widow.

Anyone else realize how (Kathy) Batwoman and Spiderwoman used to share the same color hair and costume, or am I looking for connections that don’t exist?

Those look nice! Koto also has two releases in the Bishoujo line (one with the white make-up and one with normal skin tones), which are probably worth checking out too if you like the design.

On Spider-woman, did she actually have red hair with a black costume? I always thought her oldest version was Jessica Drew with red and yellow with black hair?

I see why your confused, I meant Kathy Kane not Kate.

I’ve been eyeing the White makeup version of her Bishoujo statue for a while now, but its too expensive for a smaller scale.

Today I got a neat little banshee print, so naturally I photographed all my Halloween themed collectibles.

First up is the dc bombshells Batgirl Halloween variant statue, that I was lucky enough to get her on a very high discount from the Mcfarlane website.
I’m glad they got Karen Palinko to sculpt the new head because whoever sculpted the normal version didn’t do so good.

Dc artist alley day of the dead GameStop exclusive Harley Quinn. When trying to find more info on her I came up with nothing, I guess being limited to 1,500 pcs makes you sorta rare. I’m so glad my dingy little GameStop had just gotten her in the day I decided to visit.
Attachment 68930

Cryptzoic dc bombshells poison ivy autumn HotTopic exclusive. I love the general aesthetic of this collectible line and it sucks it had such poor distribution, I’m sure this line would’ve done better if it had been handled properly.

If you didn’t think I was going to pull out my silver banshee for this then you where sorely mistaken.

Cyclopswc 07-01-2022 09:28 AM

Oh I do like that Halloween Batgirl MUCH better than the regular version.

I don’t care for power rangers and I have no idea where this figure came from. I’ll keep her though because when I was a small child I loved the pink ranger, however unlike half the people on this website I didn’t have a crush on her.
I’ll let you guys guess which ranger i did have one on though ;)

Which batgirl do you mean the halloween one or the pink one, either way thanks and I’m glad you liked it

Diamond select Superman the animated series Supergirl bust.

I always thought my collection needed more supergirl but I can’t afford a lot of her merchandise, so finding this for 20$ couldn’t have been more perfect.

I swear my (platonic) admiration for powerful females is going to get me bankrupt someday.

I had a small box of broken figures and I needed to get rid of them, so I made a half classic, half modern Catwoman

This took way more painting, glueing, and cutting than it should have.
